Lexus GS 2013+ :: Tock Sound That Comes From Around The Driver Seat
I drive a GS450h. Now I am experiencing some rattles that irritates. It is a "tock" sound that comes from around the driver seat. It is impossible for me to isolate, but it sounds like its from either of these locations:
- Driversdoor
- Roof
- A pillar driver side
- Dashboard
It doesn't matter where if the road is bumpy or not, actually it seems to be more present on smooth roads. I removed the covers of the door and looked for anything that moved in there, but it all seemed ok. How can I check for the rest? Is there a DIY for removing the roof and A-style panels/cover?
Lexus IS 2014+ :: Rattle Sound Coming From Under Driver Seat
My 2 week old IS 350 Ultra white/Red F sport is in the shop for the rattle that feels to me to be under the car under the driver's seat. The dealer cannot figure out the problem after a day, so is keeping my new car. At least they were able to hear the rattle.

2007 GX470 120,000 miles. Great vehicle and no problems until now. Seems I have an intermittent engine whine/whirring/zinging sound. I say intermittent because sometimes it there and other times its gone. It is fairly loud. Almost like an extremely loud alternator whine, only this sound is coming from the area near the ac compressor. There is some plumbing which runs just along the left side of the compressor pump and when I grab those lines and the little aluminum cannister in that area, I can feel the vibration in that system, big time. No vibration from the compressor pump though. Not sure what those lines are, but whatever they connect to is probably the culprit.
Its odd because the noise comes and goes. It doesn't fade in/out. It's either full blast loud, or totally gone. Once it's gone, it doesn't come back for a few days. Then one morning i go out and start the truck, and there it is again! Usually lasts for about a day, then it goes away for a week or so. After a week goes by, there it is again! Really odd. I had my mechanic look at it, but it wasn't making any noise that day (as luck would have it). He told me it was an awesome vehicle. Of course I agreed, but that didn't diagnose the problem.
Prius (2004-09) :: Whirring / Roaring Sound From Front Driver Side
Prius owner. I have 200,000 miles on the car and have done nothing except change the oil, tired and battery. No other maintenance was performed.
While driving straight the front wheel seems to vibrate some and make a whirring/roaring sounds. When turning to the left the noise is greatly reduced. When turning to the right it still exists.
Any potential causes? Possibly the struts? They as well as all the front end components are original.
Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Driver Seat Making Odd Noises When Turn Corners?
I have a 2015 sonata sport 2.0t. Great car so far. I have recently started hearing noises in the driver seat when I turn corners ? It's almost a clicking back into place sound and always does it around corners. I took it to my dealership and they could not replicate the problem of course.

When I drive with windows down I can hear a whirring from the motor. Its like if it is low on power steering fluid. Its not constant with RPM. I am pretty sure the steering is electric but WTH can it be? I am dreading winter cause I will have windows down all the time then and I will have to crank the stereo to block it out.

So, last night I was driving with radio off and a "whirring/fan" sound was audible in the rear of my 2002 SC430 - a sound that I have never heard. The sound seemed to resonate from the driver side, access panel (which I believe holds fuses and other systems for roof). After the vehicle was stopped and restarted the sound continued. Now today, I insert the key into the ignition - no sound; turn to accessory - sound is audible; started vehicle and did not hear sound. Second time I repeated and sound was heard; started and did not hear sound, Third time I repeated and no sound heard in accessory start position. What the heck is this? Any diagram of the trunk and what components are housed in the center bay? Does this vehicle have any auto-leveling function that activates?

Right Front Seat Stopped Working. It was about 2 months after I got the car or 2 weeks after I had it hardwired for a Police Radar power source. I'm pretty sure it was working after the custom police radar power source. I haven't even used the power source since I'm still waiting for the radar to come. So, I don't think it was that or maybe yes.
I went to my dealer and it was there for about 2 days trying to figure out what went wrong. It turns out the 30 amp fuse blew up or died.
Lexus GS 2013+ :: Turn Off Traction Control / VSC And Seat Belt Chime On 2015 AWD?
2015 AWD. How do you fully turn off the traction control?
Seems like i can press the button and it comes back in a minute. I tried holding it down.
Also, the seat belt chime. I take off my belt once I get in a parking lot, and the chime is annoying as hell.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Soft Whirring Sound Coming From The Engine
A 2003 20th GTI (1104). It has the 1.8T engine. Car has appx 75k miles on it, timing belt has not been done yet.
My concern is here: I checked it out the other day, and while it was running I heard a soft whirring sound coming from the engine. So I popped the hood and I couldn't really put my finger on what it could've been. I liked the car aside from that, and would like to get it, but I don't want a car with problems.
Prius (2004-09) :: 2008 - Constant Whirring Sound When Engine Is Running
My 2008 Prius has started making a noticeable soft whirring sound whenever the engine is running. You can hear it both inside and outside of the car. The sound lasts exactly 30 seconds, then pauses for 4 seconds, than repeats . When the car is turned off, the sound can be heard for about another 10 minutes before it shuts off entirely.

I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata 2.4l GLS. Staring to get an little noise from the engine about a few days ago. The noise what can only describe as a whirring sound and while in the cabin it sounds like it's coming from the right side and in the engine area, especially after a cold start and during acceleration. It is not very loud(have to turn stereo off to hear it and it only last for a couple of seconds as far as I know. My car now has about 240,000kms on it, and since the noise is coming from that area I am guessing it's a pulley of some sort. Serpentine belt was changed last year. What this noise is? I was thinking it might be the belt tensioner, probably should have changed it during my belt change.

My driver's seat has developed a popping sound when I move around, especially moving forward and back. It seems to be coming from the cushion in base of the seat or maybe down in the lower part of the seat back. I've noticed over the past two mornings while driving to my office a sort of whirring sound for lack of a better word. It has only happened in the mornings. It has been low to mid-50s temp. The sound seems to be coming from the left side of the engine bay or inside the dashboard. Basically like a fan sound but this happens even without my HVAC activated. It doesn't seem like a big deal but the reason I mention this is because it's the first time I've even experienced this since buying my Touareg last year.
Interestingly, after shutting the engine off and restarting, the sound goes away. This particular sound is definitely noticeable, even with my stereo on.
Astro - Chevrolet :: 1999 - Whirring Sound Increased In Proportion To Revving Of Engine
99 Chevy Astro with 93000+ miles. Only recent problem (one week ago) was left lights on for 4hrs on a new battery and almost completely drained battery, then, vehicle cranked without a jump. This AM started van to go to work and there was a definite "whirring noise" from under the hood. Popped the hood and sounded like coming from the brake master cylinder area vs. AC compressor area-hard to tell though. AC has not worked for 2 yrs. Noise increased in proportion to revving of engine. Likewise, noise continued while driving, although seemed to not be as loud when engine warmed up. Temp outside 34. Fluid levels OK. Where the noise is coming from? Also not sure if related or a concern: brake pedal has a slight "stick" to it when initially pressing the pedal, for ~ last 6 mths. give or take Brakes seem to work fine.

My 337 didn't pass inspection (control arms, inner tie rod, no cat because the guy I bought it from sucked etc) but it sat for probably 3 weeks and I just sold my other car (I was planning on using that $2000 to get the 337 to pass inspection) but I just drove the VW down the street for the first time and it's making some scary sounds.
Basically when I give it throttle there's a high pitched whirring sound and something keeps rattling that sounds like its coming from the engine bay. I'm really freaked out, I'm leaving in two months because I'm transferring to a new college and I need this thing to run perfectly.
It's also shifting a little strangely and if you don't shift absolutely perfectly then it starts to rattle (not like you're about to stall but something completely different) I can't take it to a VW dealer or anything because I'm way over the 15 days past a failed inspection and I can't afford a tow.
