Passat (B5) :: 2002 - Replaced Burnt Tail Light Bulb But Only 3 Sockets Were Filled
I just replaced a burnt out tail/brake lightbulb and found that I had sockets for 5 lights yet only 3 were filled....two were empty. How could this have happened and shouldnt they all be filled? I replaced the blown one but I feel like I should get 2 more per side to make it a full housing. I also am not certain what kind I need . The turn signal bulbs are fine....it's just the tail/brake light bulbs. Why were they not filled? 2002 V6 Passat.

So a few months ago my right front HID headlight went out and was replaced by Toyota (under the 50K HID Headlamp warranty). The next day, it was out again. I went back to the dealership and they looked a little deeper and told me it was a burnt terminal. What the report said was: "Found Burnt Terminal #1 connector H5 and head lamp cover, harness. Need to remove right head lamp assembly to:
*Replace Rear Headlight Cover
* Wire harness between cover and ecu
* Replace connector H5
* Repair Terminal #1 at connector H5
The headlamp was fine for a while and then the problem came back recently. The right headlight would be out when I started the car... and then it would usually flick back on after driving for a few minutes.

The ESP light to come on while cruising on dry pavement and then the burnt bulb light to come on. They both stayed on until the engine is restarted. I had 3 incidents with the same behavior so far in a month and they stayed on for the duration of the trip.

Recently my 05 RX330 had the driver side low beam bulb go out. I took it to a few places and they said take it to the dealership as they have special tools to change it. Of course I took it there and they were ready to charge me an arm and a leg to get 1 little bulb replaced. I have a 1997 ford f-150 flareside 4x4 and the interior lights have not worked since I purchased the truck.I checked the bulb and it was burnt out so I replaced it and still does not work.
The truck was hit on the 3rd door on the passenger side before I bought it and I think they may have done something to keep the interior light from coming on by accident when not shutting the door all the way.
I checked the number 14 fuse which is where I think the interior fuse it on this truck, what I could check to be my problem?
