Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Hesitation On Accelerating - Transmission Firmware?
I have sent my 2008 ES350, 47K to a dealer since it has a bit hesitation on accelerating; RPM goes upto 3K easily to get engaged to next one.
The dealer told me that no hardware problem but they did update a tranny firmware. They added that it may work right away or work after 3~4 fuelings.
What would be next step?
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Transmission / Engine Noise When Accelerating Decelerating Between 1000 And 3000 Rpm
Have owned a 2014 LS460 since April. Ever since then, when accelerating decelerating between 1000 and 3000 rpm, we hear a whining and grinding noise.

2006 GX470, ~65k mi. When shifting from P to R, P to D, or R to D, the transmission often (but not always) seems to have to think about it a while. When it shifts fine it takes about 1sec for the transmission to change gears. When it's being cranky it takes ~4secs. There are no other symptoms.
View 7 RepliesLexus RX 2004-09 :: 2008 RX350 - Excessive Slipping Or Delay In Response In Transmission
I have a 2008 RX350 AWD with only 500 miles on it so far and I am starting to get concerned about what seems to be excessive slipping or a delay in response in the trans. Under normal forward driving the trans seems to shift very smooth. The problem occurs under situations where I am coming to a near stop, basically coasting, and then have to accelerate again to continue forward. This could be in a slow moving traffic type situation or when maneuvering through a parking lot. When I try to execute a small increase in speed the engine revs but the trans doesn't respond.
It's as though it's in neutral and unable to decide which gear it should be in. After a 2 to as long as a 5 second delay it finally engages and moves forward. The condition is even worse if I am heading into a slight incline. Once it is engaged everything is fine and the subsequent shifts are very smooth. When starting from a complete stop it works perfectly. I've never had a transmission slip this much in any vehicle. There was one situation where I was almost broadsided because the RX delayed in moving forward.
I realize this is a subjective call but I am trying to determine what level of slipping in the trans is considered normal under the conditions I've described. I have searched and read past threads about issues with the earlier model years but I thought they were resolved by now. I haven't taken the RX in for service yet but I fear I will get the standard - everything is working as designed - answer from my dealership.
Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2008 - High Pitched Hum Noise When Accelerating
I have a 2008 Santa Fe LTD, and just recently started experiencing a strange noise when I am accelerating, and I cannot pinpoint it. Here is some info on the noise.
-2008 Santa Fe LTD AWD, about 25,000 miles
-Sounds like a little higher pitched hum, not very loud
-Seems to be coming from somewhere near the passenger side backseat area (first found out about it when someone was sitting there and asked what the noise was)
-Cannot tell whether it is coming from the interior or exterior of the car, but I think exterior, but it is definitely somewhere along the passenger side, from the back half of the car.
-Noise occurs when accelerating from a stopped position, only when accelerating, never when braking or idle.
-Noise occurs only when car is in gear (hitting the gas pedal in park does not cause the noise to happen)
-Noise doesn't occur at high speeds or when accelerating at high speeds
-Noise only really occurs for a 2-3 seconds while accelerating, then seems to go away as I continue to drive.
-Noise doesn't seem to always happen, but very frequently.
Camry :: 2006 V6 XLE - Delay Between Hitting Pedal And Car Accelerating
My 2006 V6 Camry XLE feels like there is a delay between hitting the pedal and the car accelerating. I also notice it bucks (changes gears at the wrong time) occasionally when pressing the pedal than backing off of it a little. The hesitation has always been there but lately its been really bothering me because I drove someone else car (Hyundai Sonata 4 cylinder )and felt how smooth it accelerated and how responsive it was at lower speeds. I know this car has drive by wire which probably has something to do with the problem. How to alleviate this issue? I don't think there's anything mechanically wrong.
View 9 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2007 - High Pitch Squeak While Accelerating And Braking
My 2007 Prius Touring creates high pitch Squeak/Whistle sound while accelerating and braking, But if I put the car on neutral then the sound completely goes away. I have all the holes covered on the both side mirrors and this still occurs. The sound is constant for as long as I accelerate and Brake and the intensity varies with how hard I accelerate or brake, It also does that during regen braking when I leave the accelerator. What could be wrong?
View 2 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Throttle Delay When Accelerating From A Stop And Early Shift Into 6th Gear
I recently purchased a 2012 Golf Sportline 2.5 auto. I also currently own a 2006 Jetta and 2008 Rabbit both 2.5 automatics. Both older cars run and drive great with this engine and tranny combination for me. However with the 2012 I really notice a throttle delay when accelerating from a stop and a very early shift into 6th gear when in the gear selector is in drive mode causing engine lugging. Shifts into 6'th at 60 kph doing 1100 RPM.
This I find is very annoying compared to my other two VW's which have better throttle response and shift a little later into 6'th allowing the engine to turn at 1400 RPM allowing for better acceleration without having to kick it down a gear.
I have taken it back to the dealer hoping for a ECM flash update but nothing is available from VW and my vehicle ECM has all other current settings and updates. I ve looked into aftermarket solutions such as the Sprint Booster which allows for a more responsive pedal but based on my other VW's my 2012 should not preform like this.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: LS460 High Pitch Sound When Turn Heat Up On High
I went to go start my LS460... put the heat on, its fine.. when I turn the heat up on high I get this annoying high pitched sound. It has to do with the heat system because when I turn it off it goes away... I'm scared to keep the car running...
View 10 RepliesLexus RC F 2015+ :: High Pitched Gurgling Noise When Accelerating On The Road?
I bought my RC F new about a month ago and have put a very fun 1450 miles on it. Ever since I got it, there is this weird noise happening right at about 2.8k - 3k rpms. It doesn't seem to happen when I'm hammering on it as much as when I just accelerate on the road to get around somebody and peak at those rpms.
Not quite sure how to explain the noise, it's kind of a high pitched gurgling. Is this normal?
I tried recording it but you can't hear it through the video at all. If you turn the volume up and put your ear right next to the speaker you *might* be able to hear it. It's much more apparent in real life.

Ford Transmission :: 1996 - Delay In Transmission?
I recently bought a 1996 ford Ranger sxt extended cab with 4liter engine and having issues with the transmission ,automatic. I will try to explain best I can the problems. When the transmission shifts from first to second it seems to start the shift and then about 3 to 5 seconds later it finishes it. From second to third right before it shifts the rpms rise a little and then it shifts ,often with a little jerk. when it shifts into od it shifts very smoothly shortly after 3rd. I just bought the truck and have put less than 50 miles on it,I dont know any thing about the truck(servicing, maintenance etc) What do you think is the issue and what would you do to try and solve it ? I unfortunetly am not a mechanic but have to learn to be as after buying it money is tight! I am on a fixed income and a small one at that !
View 1 RepliesLexus SC430 :: When Accelerating Torque Is Lost - Steering Felt Loose At High Speeds
I test drove the sc 430 the other day, I found it very smooth and very soft ride. I noticed that when I accelerate the car feels heavy as if it lacks the torque. Is this normal?
Also, the steering felt loose at high speeds above 60mph. Is this normal?
Ford Transmission :: 2007 E350 - Shudder When Accelerating In OD - Whine In Park / Neutral
Looking for your collective expertise
2007 E350 with 5.4L and 4R70W trans. 107K miles and the fluid has probably never been changed ( my mistake - thought it was 100K interval - finding out from my reading that is def not true ). Anyway, following is recent development (last couple days):
Symptom #1: In Park/Neutral there is a whine. As soon as you put it in P or N, the whine 'spins up', stabilizes, and does increase with engine RPM.
Symptom #2: Hesitation (albeit minor) when starting from stop in D and R, with _very_ minor shudder. Sometimes feels like it's struggling a bit to move its own weight just until it's rolling.
Symptom #3: Shudder when accelerating in OD. No shudder when I turn off OD. It does not stop when applying brakes (a test suggested elsewhere). Also, the shudder does not happen when applying gas while braked in D at standstill. Only at highway speeds (enough to be in OD).
This all started at the end of a trip (90 miles or so in 85-90 degrees) when I was pulling a utility trailer (maybe 2000 lbs loaded). Not sure if related, but traction control warning went off a couple times. I think I have a axle seal leak that may be triggering that.
Otherwise shifts fine (no change in shift behavior or smoothness). Things seem to be worse when it has heated up. Should I start with a fluid change? Wasn't sure because there are comments out there saying don't do it or the tranny will just fail faster (I am skeptical).
Lexus IS 2014+ :: LS350 8 Speed Transmission Whine While Accelerating
Picked up a 2014 IS 350 F Sport (ultra white with red interior if curious) and have been having a blast with it over the weekend. One thing I noticed yesterday though was some transmission whine when accelerating, I drove it home about 25 miles so the tranny and engine where plenty warm and checked the fluid, and between the two indicators it was touching the bottom dot.
If I remember correctly this should be an accurate reading while the engine and transmission is hot, or am I remembering wrong?
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: RPMs Started Surging While Idle And High Pitch Humming Noise When Accelerating
My girlfriend has a 2008 with around 120k miles on it. It's been pretty flawless but yesterday the RPMs started surging while idle and made kind of a high pitch humming noise when accelerating.
Today on her way to work she said the radio was going in and out, the battery light lit up and then the rest of the dash lights came on, and the speedometer stopped working.
What could be the problem? Could it just be the battery?
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: High Idle - Delay In Shift Intermittently?
So my F150 (with 4r70w) has a weird issue. If I jump on it (only briefly) and then drive normally it gets stuck in a high idle/late shift mode. Sometimes it won't even shift until 3500 - 4000 RPM. If I stop and restart it will usually go back to normal (depending on how warm the tranny is, the warmer it is, the less likely to fix on restart). Now I understand that if you give it a lot of gas it will shift later, but like I said, it get's stuck in this mode even if I have a light foot after. The really weird thing is that it does this after cruising on the highway for a while. Also, the OD light does not flash.
As I'm writing this, I just realized that a common thing is warm tranny fluid. I'm not sure if it's the tranny because the high idle and the fact that it will shift fine if babied. There are no codes.
Here's what I've done: Flushed tranny fluid and filter (full flush, not just the little bit with the filter change), replaced TPS, replaced PCV, replaced IAC valve, replaced a few vac lines, and cleaned entire throttle body (including EGR valve).
Lexus GS 2006-11 :: 2007 - Car Acts Sluggish At Accelerating
I've noticed since yesterday that my engine has become really loud when accelerating - obnoxiously loud. Best way of describing it is it's taken on that "muscle car" sound when accelerating which I'm not a fan of. I've had company in the car and they've asked if I've "made the car louder". It also seems to be a bit more sluggish at accelerating.... either that or I'm subconsciously afraid to accelerate and push it too hard. I topped it off with oil because it was a bit low and that didn't make a difference. It is however, just about time for an oil change... could this play a factor? [URL]..................

Honda :: 2003 - Delay In Transmission Shift?
I had the transmission in a 2003 Honda V6 rebuilt in Nov. 2014. It is slow to change when starting off and slow to change into the next gear. Sounds like it is hung up for a while. Is this normal for a recently rebiult Transmission?
