Golf/GTI VI :: New OEM Clutch Slipping With APR Stage 1?
So my clutch started to slip in 4th when I first got my apr stage 1 tune at 24k miles. now 600 miles later it's slipping in 3rd. put it back to stock mode and it doesn't slip in any gear.
My question, if I replace my clutch with an OEM sachs what are the chances of it slipping again? From what I understand the golf R uses the same clutch disk and pressure plate as the gti so why is mine slipping so early? luck of the draw?
I prefer oem because it is a lot quieter and I do not plan to mod any further than stage 1. I'm still running the stock airbox.

View 4 RepliesGolf/GTI VII :: Clutch Slipping / APR Stage 1 - Low To High Output
So I recently got APR stage 1 low output (93 octane v1.2) installed and loving it so far on my '15 GTI. I went with the low output tune after hearing many clutch slipping issues and since this is my daily driver and i need reliability, didn't want to risk it too much. BUT... I am starting to wonder about the regular output. Going low to high, worth it? Seems like a 20-29 hp difference would be a lot. Have the stage 1 regular tune and no clutch slipping issues?
View 24 RepliesGolf VI R :: Stage 2 Sound Vs Stage 1?
Is there a difference in the engine sound between a stage 1 and stage 2? I like my stage 1 with APR intake as it is so I'm concerned I'll be changing it if I go to stage 2 with the intake.
View 15 RepliesGolf IV R32 :: Clutch Slips Nearing The End Of Third And Around 4200 RPMs In 4th At WOT
So I just received my car back from my shop before this past weekend, and the drive has been quite a blast.
Currently running 7psi on a non-intercooled set-up (GT35R) using Unitronic Software, on a stock clutch. (No worries, intercooling is indefinitely in it's future. Just torn between AA and AWIC. Plus saving for that clutch.)
Unfortunately, the clutch slips nearing the end of third, and around ~4200 rpms in 4th at WOT. But then today, I thought: What if I pull the haldex fuse?
As a result, the car hauls and pulls through all gears and holds 7psi all through redline.
So, Will running without the haldex have adverse *hidden* effects towards the clutch? My theory is that taking the responsibility of the haldex off the clutch is allowing it to hold and not slip.
Golf/GTI VI :: Grinding Fell In Clutch Pedal When Up Shifting At Higher RPMs Like 4k
I have about 350 miles on my new jetta and i will like to know if its just me or did everyone with a manual go through the same, i feel that up shifting at higher rpms like 4k i feel like the clutch is grinding i actually feel it in the pedal, I haven't gone higher than 4k due to break in period. I also notice that there is no engage while getting out of first almost like its slipping but it is not, i have driven manual most of my life so i know i am not slipping the clutch.

View 2 RepliesGolf/GTI VII :: APR Stage 2 - Hard Acceleration
I have 2015 GTI PP which had the APR Stage 2 with downpipe done about two weeks ago. I pretty much babied it the first week and couldn't believe how quick the car felt with a tiny little bit of throttle.
However, when I floor the car, it accelerates slower than if the throttle is slowly pressed to the floor. If I floor it and then back slowly back off the throttle as I near the upper RPMs the car starts to accelerate like it should have in the first place. The car is a total rocket if I slowly press the pedal towards the floor but if I press the pedal to much towards the floor the car slows down its acceleration that is until I start to slowly lift the pedal.
I'm at 5000ft elevation and its been pretty hot in the 80-103 F degrees. The gas out here is only 91 octane and the car has the 91 octane tune. I have tried gas from multiple stations and even tried an octane booster with no noticible improvement. I went to go log the car with my VCDS and found out that this new car uses a UDS ECU and none of the APR codes on their site match up.
Looking for a compiled list of UDS codes that actually log something useful? Or have a list that corresponds to the APR list of codes?
Golf/GTI VI :: Just Got APR Stage 1 - Bad Burning Smell In Car
So, last Saturday I took my car into New German Performance and had my ECU flashed to Stage 1. I used it on Saturday and Sunday in 93 mode, but switched back to stock for my commute during the week.
Starting on Tuesday this week, I've noticed that I constantly smell smoke at work and while at home. All of my clothes are smoky. Well, I narrowed it down to my car. When I got home today, I had the gf smell the inside of my car and it indeed smells like smoke and/or exhaust. What could have happened here?
The car has a hair under 33k on the clock and the last time the oil was checked (last Thursday morning I believe) the level was right on max. Of course, I haven't checked it since the tune (I will once the car cools down tonight), but I'm beginning to worry a little here.

So today I went for a drive in my mkvi gti with apr stage 1 and an intake and the car was idling rough and then as i pressed the clutch to take it out of gear and brake the car would rev up to about 3k and drop ant go up and down a couple times until it returned to normal idle and still it would idle rough and this happens every time i press the clutch to take the car out of gear. also on a cold start it would jump up to like 3k and then slowly drop down.
View 4 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2010 - Cylinder Misfire After APR Stage 1?
Had car flashed a little under a month ago to stage one. Car has 33k on it. Only other mods are the stage one Carbino. Weather has been extremely cold (5-15 degrees). Noticed a few days ago in 4th gear at WOT car was sputtering, acting almost as if the clutch was slipping. Last night, thinking it was the clutch, tried a 4th gear pull up a hill from 2000 RPM, car damn near stalls.
Today, heading home car goes into limp mode and barely got it in the driveway. Very rough idle pulling both the EPC and CEL codes P0300, P0301, and P130A. Below is the file from VCDS. After some searching it appears this may be coil pack related, it's too cold to start switching them around at the moment, but I wanted some keener eyes to see the info I pulled. I am considering replacing the packs with the R8's and getting new NGK plugs just to see what happens.

Golf VI R :: APR Stage 1+ / Strange Noise Under Heavy Acceleration
I just went APR Stage 1+ (APR hpfp plus VWR intake) and am loving the noticeable power gain from Stage 1. But under hard acceleration I'm getting a strange noise (sounds like wheelspin or tire screech and sounds like it's coming from the front tires) when I disengage the clutch to shift at higher (5K+) rpms. It is not metallic sounding (it sounds like burning rubber) and lasts for a split second then goes away.
For those of you who've had tuned GTIs, it essentially sounds like what my Stage 1 GTI sounded like when too much torque was going to the front wheels and I spun my wheels before I got traction.
It doesn't happen as I re-engage the clutch and it doesn't happen any other time (quick but not WOT acceleration or normal driving). It also didn't happen under hard acceleration before I went from Stage 1 to Stage 1+. Furthermore, I'm not having any issues with difficulty shifting or engaging gears at any time. My R is 1 month old and has ~1K miles.
I've searched the clutch/transmission troubles thread, and other threads, but haven't come across other sounds/symptoms that seem similar.
At first I was thinking it was just a split second of wheelspin from too much torque as the AWD kicked in, but that doesn't seem to make sense (or does it?) since it only happens when I'm disengaging the clutch. Any thoughts before I start thinking the worst?
Golf/GTI VI :: APR Stage 1 Intake And Check Engine Light?
So last night, I put my APR stage 1 intake on my 2011 GTI. Install went smoothly, didnt even touch the MAF sensor. Drove fine that night with no cels and drove home approximately 15 miles.
Today, after driving an additional 15 miles I turned off my engine. Upone restarting, the engine starts but idles at 0 then shuts off. Tried restarting a couple times to no avail. Then took out my key, gave it a few seconds, tried again and the engine starts but with a check engine light,
Shut it down, gave it a few more seconds and restarted the engine and the check engine light was gone.
WTF is going on??? I am super worried as I only have 850 miles on it and am scared I got a lemon or something. Is this normal?
EDIT: Could i have ruined my engine in any way?
Golf/GTI VI :: Plastic Rattle Noise After APR Stage 1 Install
It sounds like a plastic on plastic rattle coming from the dash area. The sound comes loudly through the vents, so I am thinking it is something under the hood. Bumps make it much worse. No relationship to whether I am on the throttle or not.
View 9 RepliesGolf VI R :: GIAC Stage 2 Overboost - Car Go Into Limp Mode Until Restart
So, I've been throwing an overboost code pretty randomly. It doesn't throw a CEL but the car does go into limp mode until I restart it. It's happened around 10 times in the past 2 months, mostly under WOT around 4500-5K. I've ran some logs at WOT and nothing really stands out to me with my limited knowledge except for random misfires in all 4 cylinders. I bought the car back in October and it already had the tune so I'm not certain if it's the most updated file.
View 15 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2012 - APR Stage 2 Installed / Rattling Noise When Cruising
I have a 2012 mk6 and did stage 1 APR about 3 months ago and loved every single moment of it. It made a huge difference on the car but like all good things they don't last forever so it was time to move to bigger, better things so I went stage 2 this weekend ( apr stage 2 carbonio, APR downpipe and reflash ). I installed it at a VW dealer in Mount Prospect, IL, same place where I got my stage 1 installed.
When I drove off with the car everything seemed to be just fine and the gains were noticeable. Later on as I was cruising I started hearing a rattling noise coming from the front of the car, right under the DSG shifter. I was thinking it could be one of the clamps that was used to install the DP, I didn't get a chance to look under the car yet. What it might be? This morning when I turned on the car, I did not hear the rattle...
