Elantra GD (2013+) :: Won't Start / Horn Sounds Muffled When Locking Door
I've got an unusual problem with my 2013 Elantra. It has been serviced about a month ago and all was well. I left my car sitting for a week, parked inside in an unheated garage, after driving in the rain. When I came back, I started it, let it run for a few seconds (less than 30) then shut it off.
When I then pushed the door lock button on the key fob to lock the door, I noticed the horn sounded muffled and was a lot quieter than usual. Still, the door locked and lights flashed.
When I went back about 24 hours later, and tried to start the car, it wouldn't start. The engine cranked, but would not catch. Electric seemed to work fine.
I tried a few more times, pushed the gas to the floor, and it eventually started. I drove it for 30 minutes or so and it ran fine. I shut it off for 30 min, and then started it up again no problem. And the weird thing was, when I went to lock the door, the sound the horn makes when you lock the door sounded normal.
My questions are this:
1) did shutting it off after one minute the first time make it unable to start the second time?
2) are they muffled horn sound and the inability to start related?
3) do I need to bring it in for service?

Got a '13 FX4, sometimes my remote start works and sometimes the horn just beeps when I go through the sequence.
Am I doing something wrong, leaving a door not shut all the way etc.... Are there any parimiters where it won't remote start and just "beep" the horn?
Golf/GTI VI :: Remote Start / Horn Goes Off Like A Car Alarm
I installed a remote start a while back. What I am struggling with is every other time or 3rd time I try to start it the horn goes off like a car alarm. Initially I was having a key issue and would get the immobilizer alert on the dash and It would fire and then shut off. Now if the horn starts going off all I do is hit the lock button and it stops after a couple honks and then starts like nothing happened.

Every time my car alarm goes off, the horn sounds like a clown car. The kids on my 10 year old baseball team even joke about it--its that bad. So, is it just me or are y'all embarrassed when the alarm goes off?

I recently added factory remote start to my truck, installed the antenna, bought and programmed a new 4 button key and had the dealer activate the feature. That part was smooth. I have since bought another 4 button key and cannot get the head part to program. I am following the same steps as before, doors closed, cycle the door locks and leave unlocked with the button on the door. cycle the ignition 8 times, leaving in ON position (with original factory key). the door locks cycle on their own. When I push a button on ANY fob, the horn honks and nothing else happens. Any fob, the new unprogrammed FOB, the existing programmed FOBs, the horn honks. This tells me the new FOB is being read, but not retained.

We have a 2013 Prius v two that is 5 months old. It has NO alarm system. This morning while sitting in our garage the car sounded as if a car alarm went off. The lights started flashing and the horn went off and on for 10 seconds or so. This happened three times over a period of 2 hours. There is no car alarm in this car.
I turned on the car to see if there were any error messages. We are coming up on the 5000 mile maintenance and the indicator for that was on. There were no error messages.
Golf/GTI VI :: 2013 VW - Screeching Sound On Cold Start And Engine Acceleration
To get straight to the point: I have a 2013 GTI that has recently started making a screeching noise on cold starts and during engine acceleration (not necessarily heavy load, but actual engine speed acceleration).
I recorded a video of it this morning and it is very easy to discern the sound. The car is APR stage 1 tuned and has a south bend clutch but I don't think either of those are related to the sound. The water pump has been replaced from the service bulletin, the auxiliary belt tensioner has been replaced because it started to make a noise (this noise is completely different). Otherwise the car has never given me an issue, it has been maintained exactly per the OEM repair schedule other then oil changes every 5k miles vs. 10k. I use mobil 1 0W-40 oil.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Car Won't Start / Horn Goes Off
I am having this giant problem with my 2008 Santa Fe. The battery died and I replaced it and I think that the security system is locking out from starting the car. Step by step of what happened:
1. Connected battery terminals
2. Horn goes off (continuously not beeping)
3. Try and start the car but it does not start. Doesn't turn over nothing at all but the interior and dash lights do work but it does not let me unlock the doors using the button (not sure if that means anything).
4. Pull horn fuse because it's waking up my neighbors.
At this point the car has been sitting for about two weeks, the battery is not connected and I'm really stuck. I've tried connecting the battery, locking the doors and letting it sit for 45 seconds and that didn't work. I replaced the battery in the key fob and that did nothing. My last step was to reach out here and honestly next would be to tow it to the dealer.
Prius V :: 2013 - Car Shudder When Accelerating
About 20000 miles on it, had dealer service a couple weeks ago. Going to a friends this evening. Stopped at an intersection when accelerating again, there was a shudder for a second, different than the normal motor start up. Then I noticed the CEL light and the Hybrid system light were on. No place to pull off the road so continued on about 1/2 mile to the friends condo and pulling in the parking lot it seemed like the engine was in safe mode, reduced power, so parked it there and got a ride home.

I just bought little bit bumped Prius 2010. The bumper, Windshield, hood and left headlamp need to change. And three front airbags and belts.
But this is not problem, the problem when I start a car the horn is starting beeping. When car is not started it shows lock with keys icon on dashboard. When I start it, it shows only airbags problem, and starting beeping. Car run and drive without any visible problems.

I could not get my car to start yesterday so I had my friend jump it and we got it started. took my daughter to school this morning no problem car started right up ran fine 2 hours later car wouldn't start again but this time when we tried to jump it the horn was honking from the car alarm. disconnected the terminal took the battery to the shop had it tested battery is good cleaned the terminals with a wire brush hookef it back up and the horn startef honking again disconnected the battery to stop the Horn.here's where it gets really weird #1 my horn hasn't worked in months #2 I have never used the alarm didn't even know it was activated.I inherited the car last year from Grandma who did not like the keyless entry and had it removed she paid big money to Chevy to have it removed so I have no keyless entry to my car and from what I can find online that is the only way to stop this! its a 98 Chevy Prizm I only have 49 thousand original miles car is in beautiful shape have never had a problem until now. it has the original cassette deck no CD, it doesn't even have electric windows, what can I do.

Weirdest thing happened this morning. I went to start the car and the horn was immediately on. I figured maybe the steering wheel was stuck. Anyways it went for a bit then while I was on the highway it came on and stayed on. People were looking while I'm going 60mph with the horn blasting. Anyways it went off on its own. I checked the fuse today and it is blown. I no longer have a horn. Why this happened? I will take the steering wheel off tomorrow to check the grounds.

I noticed from time to time when i accelerate ventilation fans tend to drop speed. Not sure if the a/c shuts off for a brief moment as you can feel warmer air exit the vents. Nothing of concern to me as the a/c works fine, just wondering if it does this for a reason. Knowing the ac is a huge power consumption to the vehicle, I am wondering if it does this for the engine to put more power where needed.
On another note. I did a test on the HWY this past Saturday omw to a wedding coverage. 2hr drive there i used the a/c with seat vents on and got about 22/23mpg. On the way back i did the opposite and got 29.2mph, not too shabby... 2016 - 2.0T .....
Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Squeak / Grinding When Accelerating
I have a 2013 Santa Fe Limited AWD that has a problem that is killing me. When in any forward gear something that is rolling/spinning is making a squeaking/grinding sound but only when you give it gas. Once you let off the gas paddle it stops then starts again when I give it gas again. I took it to my local dealer and after a week of them having it they told me that its rust on the rotors.
I feel that is not the case and I don't want to spend the money to turn or replace the rotors to find its not the problem. It has 48k miles and when they tried to tell and show me what it was i saw the pads and rotors and they looked good (other then normal rust on the edge of the rotor) so I know its not in need of a brake job.
Golf IV R32 :: No Horn When Locking Car
This has happened to me before and usually when someone else is with me and they close the passenger door funny then i go to lock it and no beep. So i make sure to close all the doors again including the hatch then i lock it and i get the beep from the horn. But recently no matter what, the horn is no longer beeping when i arm the car. Car is still armed. Alarm goes off if i open the door when locked, but just wondering why the horn beep is gone upon arming.

Our 2015 es350 with 2,500 miles hesitates when accelerating from a dead stop, such as from a stop light. We are told this is to be expected with this vehicle. The dealership test-drove the car and say there's no problem. But this hesitation is unlike any other car we've experienced.

Tiguan :: 2013 - Low Rumbling Sound When Accelerating From Around 30 - 35mph
We have a 2013 Tiguan, bought new, that every now and then makes a low rumbling sound when accelerating from around 30-35mph. The car seems otherwise fine, hasn't turned up any problems at its regular service checks, and has been doing this occasionally since we first got it.
It seems to happen only after the car has been recently started for the first time that day, and typically happens if I'm accelerating up into the 30's, start to slow down again and then resume accelerating. It's a brief rumbling that goes away, and usually doesn't happen again, especially once the engine's warm. I've been trying to pay attention to when it happens, and it does seem to be associated with cold or rainy days, but I need it to happen a few more times to say that for sure.
Golf/GTI VI :: Horn Working Intermittently?
My horn seems to be working intermittently (more often NOT working...).
When I press the steering wheel i hear a click, but that's it. I've checked the fuses already and nothing is blown. all the buttons on the steering wheel work consistently. Another data point that may be relevant is that i went in for the clock spring recall a couple months ago.
How to troubleshoot and find the cause?
