Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Interior Red Footwell Lights Turn On And Off Periodically
I've had some issues with this kit after install. Here are the facts: LED Kit is properly installed, fuses look fine, no problems after initial install. All other LEDs work except now, after a month of working correctly, the interior Red footwell lights will turn on and off periodically.

Golf VI R :: Footwell Lights Come On And Off With Headlights?
My footwell lights come on and stay on after I turn the headlights on. They go off when I turn the headlights off. I'm on a stock switch and haven't vagcom'ed anything.
View 9 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Footwell Lights Coming On Whenever Headlights Are On
I've got a 2012 GTI, About two weeks ago I noticed that my footwell lights are now coming on whenever my headlights are on. All the rest of the time, they seem to operate normally. I'm not sure if they've always done this, and I've just never noticed before, or if I've got an electrical problem. I went so far as to actually RTFM, and there's no mention of any separate controls or settings for the footwell lights.

Last night I turned a corner and the footwell lights went on full bright all by themselves for like 3 seconds, then they blinked off, then came back on at the normal dim setting I keep it at. That was weird.

View 6 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2010 - Footwell Lights Full Bright / Wiper Speed Occasionally Slow Down?
Recently a couple issues have started with my car, and I'm wondering if they are known.
1) The footwell lights will sporadically switch to full bright for a few seconds. This is really annoying, especially when driving at night.
2) The wiper speed will occasionally slow down, and I'll have to turn them off and on again to fix them. (note, I mean the actually speed of the swipe, not the delay. on the normal speed, not fast, not intermittent, the wipers will physically slow down).
Both are annoying, and I'm hoping they aren't indicative of a larger problem.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Installing Fog Lights
So i have been looking to get some new headlights with the projector housing but noticed that most of them have a fog light which my car does not have. I know in order to get them to work properly i would need the euro switch, but would i need to run additional wires through the firewall?
View 8 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Check Engine Light Came On After Installing APR Carbonio
I have a 2011 GTI with a Stage 1 APR tune. My friend and I installed an APR Carbonio cold air intake a month ago. We let the car idle for 10 minutes like the directions said after the install and followed all the directions. We then took the car out for a drive and once I hit the gas hard my check engine light came on. I haven't noticed any loss of power. The code I got was the P0299. I reset the code and drove the car carefully for a few weeks and no light. After I hit the gas hard again the light came back on.

I had oem LED taillights installed to my car. Dealer coded the car to avoid error lights on dash. The problem is now the city lights under xenons look dimmed. Not as bright as before. I asked him why did it happen and he said that it's normal as it needs to balance the current flow to supply enough power to the LED taillights. I'm not satisfied with this answer though.

View 12 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2011- Door Handle Part Missing?
I just purchased a used 2011 GTI in Tornado Red. This is my first GTI and I love it. It's a beautiful car, but it's missing part of the driver's exterior door handle. It's the plastic piece that goes over the key/lock.
Where I can get a replacement? Is this something the dealer carries? Or can it be found online? I've run a number of searches on Google and I haven't had much luck.

Golf/GTI VII :: Socket Available For Light - Missing Tail Lights?
I am in the middle of doing some investigative work for autokey and upon taking apart the Hatch Door rear tail light assembly, I noticed a spot where a bulb should go is empty (on both the driver and passenger sides, same spot).
Now, I am 99% sure these lights are SUPPOSED to be omitted, as the spot where a bulb would protrude into the actual tail light assembly outlined above has a metallic dome over it to keep it sealed. Just wondering why there would even be a socket available for a light? Is it part of a European package we don't get in the States?
Passat (B6) :: How Footwell Lights Can Be Stayed On
I am coming out of a loaded Treg that had its footwell lights on low while driving the car, which I really liked. While my new B6 also has footwell lights they turn off once the car is started up. Is there any way to get the footwell lights to stay on from the MFI? Can it be VAGGED? Or is there no way to do this?

View 12 RepliesPrius C :: LED Footwell Lights Installation - Fuse / Wiring?
I bought a LED footwell kit and was planning on *trying* to install it.
For reference, this is the kit i bought : Expandable Million Color SMD Interior Light Kit
Anyways, i bought an "add-a-circuit" to make it easier - basically it allows the kit to plug into an existing fuse (see )
I'd like to choose a 'switched' 12V source in the fuse box to connect this to. ideally I'd like to have the interior lights turn on when I switch on my headlights! I don't want the source/fuse i pick to be "always on".
I was looking at the fuse box description in the manual for the driver's side instrument panel - the number 1 - tail - 10A - parking lights, side marker lights, etc. - is that the one i should use? i don't know how A relates to 12V sources... shrugs
i don't know anything about wiring.
