Golf/GTI VI :: 2010 - Footwell Lights Full Bright / Wiper Speed Occasionally Slow Down?
Recently a couple issues have started with my car, and I'm wondering if they are known.
1) The footwell lights will sporadically switch to full bright for a few seconds. This is really annoying, especially when driving at night.
2) The wiper speed will occasionally slow down, and I'll have to turn them off and on again to fix them. (note, I mean the actually speed of the swipe, not the delay. on the normal speed, not fast, not intermittent, the wipers will physically slow down).
Both are annoying, and I'm hoping they aren't indicative of a larger problem.

I was driving home last night and within the 30 min trip, my footwell lights got extremely bright for a split second on two occasions? Not sure whats going on here.......

I've got a 2012 GTI, About two weeks ago I noticed that my footwell lights are now coming on whenever my headlights are on. All the rest of the time, they seem to operate normally. I'm not sure if they've always done this, and I've just never noticed before, or if I've got an electrical problem. I went so far as to actually RTFM, and there's no mention of any separate controls or settings for the footwell lights.

I just took delivery of a new 2011 golf and noticed the footwell lights were absent, presumably because Canadians always seem to get shafted. I would like to hear from other Canadian golf owners before going to the dealer.

Passat (B6) :: CEL Blinked For A Few Seconds And Then Went Solid - Car Sat For A Week
So the car just went off warranty like 1000km ago. Last week I left it sitting in my driveway while I was out of town for a week. I just started it and the CEL blinked for a few seconds and then went solid.
Other than sounding cold (it's canada and there were three snow storms while I was gone) the car runs fine. I shut it off... restarted and again, blinking CEL and then to solid.
Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Interior Red Footwell Lights Turn On And Off Periodically
I've had some issues with this kit after install. Here are the facts: LED Kit is properly installed, fuses look fine, no problems after initial install. All other LEDs work except now, after a month of working correctly, the interior Red footwell lights will turn on and off periodically.

I've got a 2006 Prius, it's done this a few times before but self-resolved, this time it stayed dead- cold morning pressed power- all the gear lights blinked on-off, the fuel gauge goes up and down and no ability to engage gears.
I jumped it and got it to look "normalish": in park, normal dashboard lights, etc but when I tried to engage the gear into drive it just wanted to go to neutral. i thought maybe it knows that it's still attached to the jumper so I unhooked all that and when I got back into the prius it was dead-dead again- no lights, nada. I was doing this by myself.
Toyota - Celica :: 1990 Dies While Driving / All Lights Blinked Twice Then Out
I have a 90 toyota celica st. I was driving it the other day and it died on me while driving... twice! The second time was going down a steep hill and it was freaken scary for a minute as the breaks were not working, the car started again and I was able to stop! Anyway I know enough about cars that once your car starts it should not die. Could it be the alternator? It seems to start up just fine. I did notice though that when the car died on me both times I was taking a pretty sharp right turn. And when it died every thing blinked twice then out went everything. Im sure that it is a code for something but I do not have the owners manual as I was not the original owner. I just started it up today again and it makes a weird clicking noise before I even turn the key.

I am coming out of a loaded Treg that had its footwell lights on low while driving the car, which I really liked. While my new B6 also has footwell lights they turn off once the car is started up. I bought a LED footwell kit and was planning on *trying* to install it.
For reference, this is the kit i bought : Expandable Million Color SMD Interior Light Kit
Anyways, i bought an "add-a-circuit" to make it easier - basically it allows the kit to plug into an existing fuse (see )
I'd like to choose a 'switched' 12V source in the fuse box to connect this to. ideally I'd like to have the interior lights turn on when I switch on my headlights! I don't want the source/fuse i pick to be "always on".
I was looking at the fuse box description in the manual for the driver's side instrument panel - the number 1 - tail - 10A - parking lights, side marker lights, etc. - is that the one i should use? i don't know how A relates to 12V sources... shrugs

I know I'm not the only one that think the dash illumination lights are too bright! Even when turn turn them all the way down, yes they go down but still too bright. Any mod to make the inside lights dark? I have thought about buying tint and tint the over the speedometer and the clock and radio... Not sure how it would hold since its plastic......
I use my personal car for side work (at night) and need sit in my car and if the car is running and I cut all the lights off, and use the emergency brake to cut the day time running lights off, the dash lights go bright...wtf. I've also thought about removing the fuse for the lights, but I read the same fuse is used for the airbags as well.....

The footwell lights come on when i open the door to get into the car and then go off after a short period of time. However, they will stay on all the time after the car is started. Is that normal? Can they be turned off when the engine is running? The manual is no support.

I recently had my tpms light turn on when I started my car in the morning. It blinked for about a minute and then stayed on. After checking my tire pressure and seeing they were all normal, I checked online and found that when the tpms light acts like it is for me, it means there is a malfunction somewhere, so rather than deal with trying to fix it, I went into vagcom to turn it off. I went to the proper byte/box for tpms and unchecked it. But the light is still on...
