Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2008 F250 - No Power At All Loaded And Unloaded And Really Bad Fuel Mileage
I've got a 08 f250 ext cab long box with the 5.4 gas. I know I know 3/4 ton gas. Trucks got NO power at all loaded and unloaded and really bad fuel mileage. Driving like a grandpa in town I'm getting 7mpg on the hwy unloaded I get 9 or 10mpg loaded on the hwy the trucks working way harder than it should and getting 6mpg.... I'm wanting to swap the 5 4 for a 6.0. Reason I saw 6.0 is my buddy's done egr delete. Bulletproof oil cooler head studs and a edge with attitude chip and has great power and reasonable fuel mileage. How hard is it going to be swapping the motors.

My 2014 f250 4x4 crew cab with 6.2l gasser only gets about 7.5-8 mpg at 65 mph while pulling my 27' bumper pull travel trailer. I know that thing is basically a wall trapping the air but is there anything I can do to gain a couple mpg more? I can average about 15 mpg at 65 mph without the trailer on the highway.

I have a 2010 F250 with a 5.4 gas. I wondered if a CAI would increase power and gas mileage. I have a friend who put one on his mustang and it worked a lot, especially with power.
View 7 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Low Fuel Pressure - Engine Power Reduced After Fuel Filter Change?
I had my fuel filters changed at the dealership today on my '15, and then I bought fuel and headed home (70 miles). About half way home I got a "Low Fuel Pressure" message and a little while after that "Reduced Engine Power" along with the check engine light.
I pulled over to see if they did something like leave the drain open, thinking it might be sucking air. Of course it was dark and I could not see anything. However I did hear a buzzing sound and could feel a vibration when I touched the fuel line going into the top of engine filter.
While it is possible I got bad fuel, I suspect they did something wrong installing the filters. Even after cycling the fuel pump multiple times they had a hard time getting it started afterwards; I think they finally disconnected the top fuel line to bleed the air out.
I continued home and made it, but not sure what to do now; its 70 miles back to the dealer.
What is the most likely problem? Improper fuel filter installation or bad fuel?
Should I pull the filters in the morning see if there is something obvious like an out-of-place gasket? If so, top or bottom filter?
Is this a tow truck affair or should I drive 70 miles back to the dealer?
What the heck is the buzzing sound?
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2000 - How To Get Better Mileage
I have a 00 F250 7.3 4x4 and I am looking to get better mileage out of it since it is now a dedicated work truck for towing. The two options I have in mind I think will work, but just wanted some clarification and if one is even possible.
First I will be taking the lift off and dropping back down to 33 inch tires or so. This should give me a little, but if not it should be easier on the truck for towing.
And this truck mostly see's highway miles, so I was thinking about disengaging the 4wd. I heard 4wd trucks get worse mileage, so this is the one I didn't even know if it was possible. not digging in to the computer and injectors quite yet.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: V10 Fuel Pressure / No Power Lean
Changing a fuel pressure regulator on one of these? I'm having an issue with it running really lean, like laying down with no power lean.I put the pressure gauge on it and I'm running an even 30 pounds at the rail. Changed the filter in hopes, but no change. Just changed the O2 sensors and they were both white.

I have an '05 F350 single rear-axle w/109k miles. I only recently bought the truck for towing, and haven't had much time to play with it.
It seems that I get about 10-11 mpg on average - I was thinking this was a bit low - anything I can check?
I am normally a pretty quick driver, but, have been taking it easy to get a good read on the mileage, so, the right foot has been "very light".
The truck has a "tick", and I intend on following some of the guides for that, but how to improve the mileage
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 V10 - Mileage Gone Worse
I have owned a 2003 v10 triton f-250 now for 8 years and when I first got the rig I was getting 11.5 mpg mixed driving. As the years and miles went on the mileage got worse and worse and now I'm lucky to get 4.5 mpg.
View 14 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 - No Power To Fuel Pump Relay
1999 f-250 super duty... okay, here is what i have going on. basically no power to the fuel pump. For the last 2 weeks the fuel pump relay and 1 of the relays behind the radio (next to the blue relay) would chatter and the truck would die. Wait about 5 minutes and turn the key on and if the chatter was gone then it would fire up and run... So NOW no chatter on either relay and not cranking up. - motor turns over just fine- just no power to fuel pump. So I changed out the relay- both behind the radio and the one under the hood. still chatters and no start. i have checked the Inertia switch and 12 volts there... Here is my question, when i turn the ignition on, i have no power to the base of the Fuel Pump Relay.... Where does the power come from to power the relay???

My friend has a F250. He was getting terrible mileage and the mechanic he took it to replaced the intake gaskets. After that the mileage went to 12 and he was happy. Now its down to 6-8, just highway. It seems to me the throttle response is terrible compared to my dad's 01 V10. And it sounds terrible. Exhaust manifolds aren't leaking that I see.
I've got AE and have hooked it up, but I'm really not very familiar with these trucks. I don't get any codes that would relate to anything. Had one trans sensor code but that was about it. Key on engine running test didn't say anything.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Truck Losing Power Then Starts Bucking Like Water In The Fuel
I have another very odd problem with my 2003 F250 7.3 PS with 206000 miles on it.
I am visiting my parents and every time I go thru this certain area my truck will act up. The first thing that happens is the truck starts losing power and then it starts bucking like water in the fuel or the cam position sensor is giving out.
WHAT I HAVE DONE SO FAR: I have drained the fuel filter assembly ( no water ) and a new cam position sensor has been installed (about 5000 miles ago, I even put old one back it to check it out same results). I have driven the truck all over the place and don't have an issue except in this ONE spot. I am beginning to think there is some kind of high powered RF going on in this area causing my truck to act up. I am thinking of hooking up my autoenginuity scanner up to it and hopefully see something going on.
Is there anything I can do to block this out if it is a RF problem. I think it is effecting my Pcm/ECM for then engine causing the truck to act up.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2012 F250 - Huge Mileage Change At 100k
2012 F-250 super cab 4x4, 6.7 and just over 100k on the odometer. He pulls a 20' landscaping trailer with about 3000lbs of gear on a daily basis. He drives the same rounds weekly and the truck is dealer serviced. His trips to the pump used to be every 7 days and are now occurring every 3-4 days. He's down to 10.4 mpg. I usually can pull better mileage with the 6.2 pulling said trailer.

2003 f550 with 7.3, suddenly loses power and struggles while driving. White/blue smoke comes from tailpipe, can smell the diesel exhaust bad when happens, comes and goes intermittently but has been happening more and more often. I uploaded a video onto YouTube to show sound, rough running motor and smoke from exhaust although smoke not that bad in video. Search "shadetreelandscaping" on YouTube in case link below doesn't work.

Took to ford dealer a few diff times for problem and they can't get any codes, can't duplicate problem. After it being in for third time they say had to call ford tech hotline and they suggest replacing injector however can not and will not gaurntee that will solve problem, and obviously dealer isn't cheap for repair. I find it hard to believe that a bad injector(s) would be an intermittent problem as it is or that it would cause fuel pump to make gurgling sound.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Fuel Pump Voltage Low?
Suspect I have a bad fuel pump. I checked for power thru the Inertia Switch. When I first energize the ignition I receive 12v after a couple seconds it drops to 7v. Is this normal? I checked at the connector to pump module and see the same reading. I swapped fuel pump relay and same readings. Just want to makew sure I dont have some other issue before doing pump.
View 2 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Fuel Leak Under Hood?
I noticed a raw fuel smell today while driving. I came right back home & found fuel spread all over the under carriage. I popped the hood & found the fuel bowl and surrounding area wet as well as fuel puddled up in the valley.
Before I tear into things I'd like to get input about common causes. I've read that the separator valve gets it's o-rings eaten up by modern fuel. Could this possibly be it? If so are there special kits that deal with the low sulfur & biodeisel?
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Fuel Gauge Not Working
Everything was working fine, getting down to about 1/4 tank. I do the usual, fill up, startup, reset the trip, and look at my level and it hasn't changed, neither has the 'km until E'. What would cause this? Failed Sender? No check engine light (yet). I guess I'll be watching the trip meter for a while.
