Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Mild Roaring Noise Coming From Right Front Wheel

I got an 08 F150 2wd. I noticed lately a mild roaring noise coming from right front wheel, but it only does it when I'm turning left. There is nothing while driving straight or during right hand turns. Only happens during left hand turning.

Avalon 2005-12 :: Noise Coming From Front Left Tire - Front Wheel Bearings Replacement?

I've been having a lot of noise coming from the front left tire, and I finally had it diagnosed as a bad wheel bearing today.

I noticed that the front wheel bearings are sold individually while the rear wheel bearings are sold as hub assemblies. Is there a certain way that the front wheel bearings have to be removed and pressed on? I'm trying to see if this is a DIY repair.

Prius (2004-09) :: Clucking Noise From Near Front Driver Side Wheel - Replace Wheel Bearings?

My 2005 Prius has 95k miles on it. I've been hearing a cluck-cluck-cluck noise from near the front driver side wheel. I had an independent mechanic test drive it, who said the wheel bearing needs replacement. Should I have it checked out by a Toyota dealer? They're so much more expensive, but are is it worth taking it to them?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Whine Coming From Front Wheel Bearings?

I have some whine coming from my front wheel bearings so I'm going to replace them both. I'm not sure if this had been done on my truck before, but I'm thinking so since I have Moog greaseable ball joints.

Truck has 250k miles on it. I'm going to check the pads, rotors and slide pins. Anything else that might need work? I'm sure the half shaft could use a once over, but I don't keep my hubs locked so they don't turn much in regular driving.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Grinding Or Whirring Noise Coming From Front Passenger Side Wheel

I owned a 99 f250 a little while ago. Just bought a 2006 crewcab F150 xlt about 2 months ago, and for the past month there has been this unusual grinding or whirring like noise coming from the front passenger side wheel.

I took it to the mechanic and he found a bad wheel bearing on drivers side and replaced it but that wasn't the issue. He could hear the noise but wasn't able to figure out what the actual issue was.

The noise only happens when my foot is on the throttle. (not when coasting) and i also just discovered that it doesn't make any noise at all when put in 4x4.

Prius (2010-12) :: Variable Front End Noise / Bad Wheel Bearings

Our 2011 w/140,000 miles has a variable front end noise that I suspect from past experience with other vehicles is a bad wheel bearing. I've seen posts of the procedure for replacing the Gen 2 bearings that requires the hub and bearing be pressed out and new bearing back in which would limit the DIY'er, but looking at the replacement parts diagram for the Gen 3, it appears that the hub and bearing unit is bolted in with 4 bolts and may not need a hydraulic press to install.

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Loud Roaring Noise Coming From Right Front End

I have a 2009 Sonata (4 cyl) with 110,000 miles.I have a loud roaring noise coming from my right front end. Jacked car up several times, all seems very tight and wheel spins smoothly. This has been going on for over 5000 miles and I have been waiting for the ailment to show its self more clearly in order to diagnose. sound does not change when turning in either direction or breaking. sound increases with speed and is quite loud at 55mph. Had to replace a tire and put it on the right front to see if it was tire wear and there was no change. sounds like loud road noise.

Prius (2004-09) :: Noise Coming From Every Wheel - Bearings?

As the weather got hotter, I have started to drive with my windows half-down when driving through city for short distances, otherwise I use AC. What I noticed about one month ago was the noise coming from the wheels when going over bumps. It is really annoying and sounds like when you shake metal balls in a pocket.

Firstly I thought that it was coming from the brake calipers, so I replaced all the shims (actually, I have replaced rotors and pads also as they were pretty rusty and I got a good price on them). However, the noise is still there. Yesterday I got my tires replaced for the summer ones and as I was checking afterwards if the bolts are tightened correctly, I noticed that if I shake the wheel (really hard) then I can replicate the noise. To have it summarized.

What I have tried already: Replaced rotors, pads and shims on every wheel and ensured that all of the bolts are tightened correctly. And I have also googled about this problem but every finding was about the shims not fitted correctly.

What are the symptoms: Strange metallic noise coming from the wheel (every) when going over road surfaces that are not perfectly flat and with windows down (when they are all up, I cannot hear anything). I can replicate the noise if I shake the wheel (with car on the ground).

I have taken video of the noise and hope you car hear it, but I think it is pretty noticeable. It sounds like the bolts are really loose but I have ensured 10 times that they are tightened and also as I wrote previously the noise is coming from every wheel. You cannot see it on the video but I'm filming with one hand and shaking the wheel with another (pretty hard), that's why the whole video is shaking.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Rough Sound Coming From Front Right Wheel When Driving

My 2008 F-150 recently started making a funny noise from what seems like the front right wheel.

The weird thing is that it will only make the noise while accelerating. The second i take my foot off the it stops. Also, the sound stops if i put it into 4WD and does not happen at all in 4WD.

It has nothing to do with turning or breaking. It only makes the sound in 2WD while my foot is on the gas.

The sound is kind of weird. It sounds like something is loose, and it sounds similar to tin vibrating on metal.

At first i thought it may have been heat shielding rubbing on something, I checked under the truck and found nothing loose.

It's weird that it only happen in 2wd yet in the front end.

Someone had mentioned that it may have something to do with the fact that there is no torque on the front wheels in 2wd and when i put it into 4wd it put torque on it, whatever might be loose then becomes tight.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Squeak Coming From Front Left Wheel Area

My wife just bought her first truck, a 2008 F150 about a month ago. We have been driving it around since then and love the truck. The only real problem that I have seemed to encounter on the truck is a squeak coming from the front left wheel area. I can hear it when I cut the steering wheel and when I hit a big bump/pothole in the road. My dad and I have looked into it and he thinks that it is probably the axle joint where it goes into the steering knuckle/spindle. If it is this axle joint, is there a way to service/grease it and go on, or will it just simply need a new axle shaft?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Clunking Noise From Front Left When Turning Right Only

I have a 2004 2WD supercab. And am hearing a 'clunking' sound when I turn almost full-lock. Below is a summary of what I have experienced so far:

- My truck used to be lowered 2" (below stock) at the front since new. Last month I lifted it (front and rear) and it now sits 2" above stock on new rancho shocks.
- I installed a camber kit and had the front aligned (toe and camber) after the above suspension work.
- The truck drove beautifully for two weeks until one day a 'clunking' sound was heard from the front-left every time I turned left. The alignment also changed as I had to now hold the steering very slightly to the left to drive straight.
- The alignment shop re-did the toe tracking (the camber did not change) and the truck drove great for about a day. Now I can hear the same clunking sound when I turn right and the tracking is again screwed up meaning I need to hold the steering very slightly to the right to drive straight.

What parts are playing up and what may need replacing?
