Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: P0453 Code After Broken Ground Wire
My 2007 F150 5.4L would not crank at all the other morning. After checking the battery, I discovered that the ground wire to the starter was completely frayed and broken off right at the eyelet connector to the starter. I spliced it back together and the truck fired right up.
However, the check engine light suddenly appeared and I got a P0453 code which apparently indicates a high reading at the fuel pressure sensor. The CEL never appeared until the broken wire happened. I took a quick look at the fuel pressure sensor and wiring and nothing appears to be obviously broken.
One other thing I've noticed for a few weeks is a miss under load while driving. I have not seen any codes at all for the miss. I was leaning toward replacing the coil overs but now I'm wondering if the miss is related to the fuel pressure sensor.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Loose Blue / White Ground Wire In Engine Compartment
I found a loose blue/white ground wire in my engine compartment. Where this exactly needs to be ground ed to? Been having dash cluster light issues also.
View 2 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Rear ABS Center Speed Sensor Input Malfunction
I have an ABS light on. I have crawled under the truck I don't know how many times everything is connected just as it should be. The wires did have to taped up because they burnt into after getting against the exhaust at some point, but I had fixed that awhile ago, I've even tore back into the tape and re-did everything again, nothing gets rid of the ABS light. When this first happened it would go away after I turned the truck off, but would come back after using the brakes a few times, especially harder stops. Then it got to where it just came on and stayed on, and didn't go out no matter what. Thinking my ABS speed sensor went, I bought a brand new motorcraft one from rock auto it fits perfectly in the rear, plug looks good. I can't find NOTHING that would keep this light on. The code is always the same "Rear ABS Center Speed Sensor Input Malfunction", how to get rid of this?
View 1 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Fluid Leak On The Ground In The Rear Of Truck
I have an 04 F150 5.4. Anyway drove truck about 200 miles this weekend. When I got back home, unloaded truck, noticed a fluid leak on the ground in the rear of truck. Upon further inspection, appears to be leaking from where the driveshaft meets the rear axle...looks like there's a gasket or yoke in the rear of the U joint? a little fluid dripped down and ran down to the lower portion of the "pumpkin" and made a quarter size oil patch in front of my house.
I would have definitely noticed such a stain before, since I park in the same spot at home and work every day. I drove to work today (14 miles) and looked under the truck for 15 minutes after I parked, don't see any drip, but do see remnants of a leak all over the front part of the rear axle. No way has any fluid leaked on the ground before, I 100% would have noticed a stain.
Thoughts on a fix for this? I had the clutch packs redone about 3 years ago under warranty, truck has 88k miles. No shudder when I drive from the rear axle, I'm assuming there is fluid in the rear gears, as a substantial leak I for sure would have seen on the ground. leak is 100% NOT coming from the seal on the rear axle, but in front of it where the shaft meets the axle. Possible that driving on the highway at 75MPH for 2 hours straight caused this leak, as my drive to work is mostly stop and go, both ways.
Identifying Speed Sensor Wire?
How to identify the speed sensor wire? I want to put a switch inline with it but not sure how to figure out this wire..
View 1 RepliesIS F (2008-2014) :: C0210 And C0215 Rear Speed Sensor Codes?
While I was on my way to the Summit Point for a track weekend last month a CHECK SYSTEM warning light came on. I checked the code at the first Advance Auto I came across and found the codes "c0210 ABS Right Rear Speed Sensor CURRENT" and "c0215 ABS Left Rear Speed Sensor CURRENT". With the check system light on I couldn't use cruise control. I was worried that I didn't have rear ABS function, but after performing a few high speed threshold braking tests everything felt stable...so I continued and did a full 8 track sessions over the next 2 days.
The check system light came on within 40 miles of mounting new aftermarket wheels and tires. The check system light would usually go away after the car had sat for a day, but would come back on after 10-20 miles of driving.
My tags have just expired and I need to pass emissions now. I put my stock rear wheels back on so that I can avoid the codes and pass the Maryland OBDII emissions check. Everything was fine, but the check system light just came on for the first time with the stock rear wheels mounted (and before I could pass emissions)...though it took 150+ miles of driving before the check system light came on.
I would love to avoid purchasing new speed sensors, which seem to run $150+ each.
A quick internet search showed one Toyota SUV owner mostly fixed the problem by removing and cleaning the speed sensors and then dielectric greasing the connectors and coating the outside with silicon.

I have a 2008 XLE Camry. I have/had problems with squirrels eating wiring in my vehicles. I checked my Camry the other day and noticed the wires were eaten off a sensor.
The damaged connector is behind the engine cover and located on the left side of the black plastic cover directly behind the engine cover.
The connector is white plastic, has two thin wires black and black/white. This connector is attached to a large yellowish nylon base on the end of this black plastic cover between the engine cover and firewall.
What is the purpose of this connector. Everything works on the car although gas mileage dropped off about 2, which could be attributed to this winter blend ethonol.
Prius (Gen 1) :: CD Player Stopped After Red Wire Touched To Ground
The clock/CD player in my Prius 2001 stopped working after I accidentally touched a red wire to ground/car body. The 7.5A fuse next to it is fine, so are the visible fuses. The radio is OK too, with the previous setting.
A Toyota mechanic told me that the clock/CD player needed to be replaced since one of the 4 wires to the clock has power.
But the clock can start to run after ACC is on and can be barely visible when headlights are on. It seems that there are 2 sets of power to the clock, one for display and the other is always-on for clock running, and the always-on power is down.
After I checked the wires I think the always-on power may come from the metal box(~5"x5", is it a computer?) under dashboard if it's not from a gateway box.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Loud Clunk Feels Like Tire Comes Off The Ground
I have a 2004 f150 4x4, When I put it in four wheel drive everything fine until I make a sharp turn. It's not a little wheel hop its a loud clunk that feels like the tire comes off the ground. I changed the cv axle from the side that seemed to be doing it but it didn't work. Could it be the actuator?
View 1 RepliesRam / SRT10 :: 2000 / 1500 - Replaced Motor And Tiny Ground Wire Shorted Out
The problem I had started 2 months ago. Wipers froze to windshield and I didn't get it loose enough so I turned wipers on it moved and then stopped, figured just frozen,.. but once I got it all loose she didn't work. Tested everything
When I was pulling the motor I noticed it was kinda working when moving around.. but I replaced motor I found out testing with the new motor that tiny ground wire was shorted out. I guess it burned somewhere, as when I ran a wire from the motor to a bolt. It worked. Motor did work slow.
But I was driving other day and wanted to use wipers boom not working. I just pulled it off. Motor doesn't seem to be working but the delay is working I run a meter to the battery and then to the 1 wire on the harness and she trips on and off the 12 volts. So I guessing the motor is burned out. And that thin ground wire has no ground to it so I'm sure it blew before the 25 amp breaker will ever break
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Thumping Noise From The Rear Feels Like Driving Over Small Speed Bumps
I have a 2004 F150 4x4 5.4. Over the last few weeks I've noticed that when the truck has been parked for even a short time, when I start to move out I am getting a thumping noise from the rear, almost sounds and feels as though I am driving over small speed bumps, but once i get going it seems fine. Where to start?
View 5 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Broken Coil-on-plug Wire Clip?
2007 F-150 Screw 5.4... Successful spark plug change. Well, sort of. I disconnected some of the coil clips/wires from the coils during the operation. Upon installation of the wires/clips, one of the clips did not 'click' into place.
Thinking the clip needed to be pushed/pulled, I bent the clip a bit and it snapped off! Being the slow learner that I am, a second clip also did not 'click' in place, and you know where this is going: I have two broken clips out of 8. After those two, I was much more gentle.
So, can these clips be replaced and/or spliced in? I'm thinking about just using nylon ties to hold them in place. So far, they are staying put just by being pushed in place, but these two do not seem very secure.
In the future, what is the correct way to make sure these things 'snap' back into place if they seem to not want to cooperate?
Here's a picture of the two 'press clips' that broke off....
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: No Signal From Rear ABS Speed Sensor
I went to have the code read, and it was no signal from the rear ABS speed sensor. I replaced the sensor, and the light is still on. Also my speedo is off a bit. It is reading about 7-10 miles an hour faster than what it should. The mechanic can't seem to find the issue. I have a 06 F250, Powerstroke.
View 2 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: ABS Light Came On And Throwing A Rear Speed Sensor Code
I've got a 2006 F350 5.4L.
The ABS light came on and it was throwing a 'rear speed sensor' code. I searched around and it seemed to be a common issue that the sensor goes bad and needs to be replaced.
I bought a sensor and replaced it, but in doing so, I saw that while the sensor was indeed bad (cracked) the wire right at the connector was corroded.
I replaced the sensor but the ABS light is still on the dash. Is it possible that they code simply needs to be cleared? I was able to read it with my OBD2 dongle and Dash Command App, but maybe I'm not able to clear it?
Or is it more likely that the corroded wire on the connector is the issue? (it wasn't fully corroded and I cleaned it up and sealed it.). It didn't look like I could pull the wires out of the connector, so I assume I'll need a new connector. What is the part number?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Metallic Clacking Sound At High Speed / Low Pitch Whirring At Low Speed?
I have a 2004 F-150 SCrew Lariat 4X4 with 80K miles. Over the past month or so, every once in awhile there would be a loud metallic "clacking" sound (kind of like sticking a peice of aluminum in a bike's spokes) that would start at higher speeds and would turn into a low pitched whirring gear sound as I slowed down and eventually there would be a thud followed by a sensation of running over a small bump and the noise would be gone. Kind of confusing I know, but that is the best way to describe it. My gut feeling is a wheel bearing or transmission problem....

My mother in laws 2012 Santa Fe had a number of dash lights on (ABS, hill decent, stability control). I put my scanner on it and came up with fault code C1209 which showed up as a faulty right rear wheel speed sensor. I have replaced this module and then cleared the codes.
However, the dash lights still light up and the vehicle continues to throw the same code. I don't work on Hyundai's very often so I am at a bit of a loss.
