Ford Aerostar :: 1993 - Airbag Light Blinking / Horn Doesn't Work And Cruise Control Failed
I have a 93 Aerostar 4.0 and it is displaying the blinking airbag light (3-2) and the horn doesn't work and the cruise control failed. I believe it is the clockspring ...
QUESTION: Can the clockspring be repaired or must it be replaced. I do not have a schematic of the electrical components of the clockspring ...
Touareg :: Airbag Fault Code / ABS Control Module
I recently received an airbag fault light so I figured that I would scan the module for error codes. This is what I came up with:
Control Module Part Number: 3D0 909 601 C
Component and/or Version: 05 Airbag 8.4E++H01 0352
Software Coding: 0012341
Work Shop Code: WSC 31414
Additional Info: 7L0959339B BF-Gewichtsens. 005 0006
Additional Info: Geraet 00000
2 Faults Found:
01217 - Side Airbag Igniter: Driver Side (N199)
001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
01316 - ABS Control Module
004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
Has scanned the car while had the airbag fault present and if so, is this the usual harness that needs to be changed?
Ford Aerostar :: Fault Codes From ABS System / Engine Cranks But Does Not Start
First, how can I get the fault codes from ABS system? I cannot find the connector from where to activate it. Looking for a picture where is it located, and how does it look letterike?
Second problem is with starting, occurs sometimes. I just crank the engine, but it doesn't start, when I play with gas pedal, then it will start with 2-3 cylinders, runs really rough for half a minute like this (I hold the gas pedal down, otherwise would die), then gradually gets better until normalizes. Some other time, starts and runs fine. It could happen both with cold or warm engine.
Passat (B5) :: ABS Fault Codes - Transmission Control Module / Steering Angle Sensor
I have just replaced the abs ecu and have cleared the codes, thought all was gonna be good but now two code are still coming up they are:
01044 Transmission control module - incorrectly coded
00778 Steering angle sensor-G85
Passat (B5) :: 2005 - Airbag Light On / No Fault Codes
I recently sent for a reset my airbag module, yes my car was in a collision, I replaced passenger airbag(only 1 airbag deployed). And reconnected the module. Using the VAG COM, I scanned the airbag module, shows no fault codes, but i still have a light.. now I'm thinking seatbelts and sensors maybe the problem. Where the sensors for a 2005 passat passenger dash airbag are located.

I took my 2009 F150 XLT 4.6 into the dealership to have front and rear brakes replaced at 77,000 miles. Brakes were down to 3mm. They also did a complete brake flush. They called after the brake job was done and said the ABS system failed and needed to replace ABS module. Given I didn't have any problems with ABS before bringing it into the dealership, what is the chance the brake repair screwed up something with the ABS that they caused?

Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Trailer Brake Module Fault Message On Display
Brought my truck (2012 F350) for recall service for one of the faulty exhaust temperature sensors. It took them one week to replace the sensor (!), then when I came to pick it up I got: "Trailer Brake Module Fault" message on the display.
I have never seen this message, since I own the truck (I am original owner). The service adviser said it will take a minute to reprogram the module and took the truck back to the shop. Came back after a while, saying that it didn't work and I need to leave the truck, so another technician can work on it tomorrow. Tomorrow came and I got the call that they reprogrammed the module, but the message still shows up, so they need to work on it (another day!).
As of now they still don't know what is going on. Apparently they broke something while replacing the EGT sensor and how to fix it.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 F350 Won't Start / Trailer Brake Module Fault
I'm having some electronic problem with my 350. I parked it and took both batteries out for about a week. I put 2 brand new ones in and hooked them up truck won't start. So I turned key on and left on and the fault that comes up is the "trailer brake module fault" also the abs light, parking brake light & passenger airbag lights are on. Sometimes if I leave key on long enough the lights go away and I can start the truck. But it shuts down during idle. I unplugged the tbc (indash) and the #22 fuse under hood and #31# on passenger side. Still showing the fault. I'm not being allowed to start the truck. I used my tuner and found one code (P0884 tcm power input intermediate)..

2010 F250 Lariat, cab and a half, PSD. 5600 miles.
Sunday I started the pickup and received "trailer brake module fault" in the message center. I wasn't pulling so wasn't too concerned - hit the reset and continued on.
Sunday night I started the pickup again and received the same message followed by "check brake system". I also lost illuminated gear selection, the traction control active symbol was displayed and the traction control "off" (PB) was illuminated. After several attempts it reset, everything returned to normal and I was able to get home without incident.
Monday morning it wouldn't start. It indicated "trailer brake module fault", "check brake system", traction control active and off, no gear indication, the odometer indicated "-------" and it did not react to the key in the start position.
Tuesday morning I attempted to start and it was the same as the previous attempt. I noticed that the theft prevention appeared active (flashing) so I removed the key, locked the doors, unlocked the doors, tried again - no joy.
I kept trying while holding my mouth in different positions and finally by the grace of God it fired. I delivered it to the dealer.
The dealer called yesterday afternoon and reported that everything is a result of a bad trailer brake module. The new one is to arrive today, they will install and everything will be peachy.
I asked if they could just unplug it and reprogram the truck to believe it never had one - the service writer said it can't be done, different piece parts on trucks with or without trailer brakes.
I really have no choice but to push the "I believe" button and carry on but I am slightly concerned. The fact that the trailer brake module can cause catastrophic failure doesn't seem too cool, I don't have a real warm and fuzzy feeling associated with venturing far from pavement, reliable communication or alternative transportation.
In the meantime I suggest that no one take "trailer brake module failure" lightly.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Airbag Control Module Heating Up
I have a 2002 F350 7.3 Powerstroke with approximately 200,000 miles. Recently I have been having an issue with what I am told is my airbag control module heating up to the point it is too warm to touch when I am pulling a heavier load. It is located just under the dash on the center hump. I removed the black plastic cover revealing the module itself in order to determine that indeed is where the heat and smell of hot electrical equipment is originating from. It gets too hot to touch when pulling a heavy load and making the motor work...once I lighten up on it or am not pulling it immediately cools back down. If it is an option I would just disconnect it but I havent yet for fear of creating more of a problem.
View 1 RepliesFord Wiring/Electrical :: 2014 F150 - Starting System Fault / Body Control Module Malfunctioned
I own a 2014 F-150 XLT 3.5 L 6 cyl Twin. Saturday afternoon I tried to start the truck once and it didn't start like it normally does. It started on the second try, but the A/C didn't work and I got a "Starting System Fault" warning on my screen. When I shut the truck off, it would not start at all. All the lights and gauges worked, just no start.
Had to tow it to Ford Dealer, where the service department had already closed for the day (of course). Today it was determined by the service department that the Body Control Module had malfunctioned. I was told that the tech tapped on the control module and the truck started. Now waiting two days for a replacement part to come in. Luckily, I'm just under 36K miles and three years. Is this a common occurrence?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Airbag Light Flashing - Control Restraint Module Replacement
2004 f150 - Airbag light was flashing. Received recall letter. Dealer replaced a wiring harness. Dealer did not confirm functionality of airbag prior to leaving shop. Light continues to flash. New diagnostics from dealer says error code 1885 - the control restraint module needs replacing in P&L. Does the code match the fix? Can a novice mechanic replace the module?

Yesterday, in the middle of replacing the clockspring in my '93 Aerostar, I was asked to move my van. I had just finished removing the airbag and was undoing the steering wheel. Thinking it was no big deal, I reconnected the battery and tried to start the engine. The instruments lit up for a brief moment and then nothing except a relay near the rear hatch buzzing. The buzzing stopped after a second and the interior lights went out too. Now, I have no electrical activity anywhere.
View 3 RepliesFord Aerostar :: Airbag Light Inoperative Even When The Key Is First Turned On
Here's the problem with my 1994 Ford Aerostar 3.0 engine. As many have mentioned here, I'm getting the 5 chimes syndrome, indicating an issue with the airbag system. My specifics are:
The Airbag light does NOT light, even when the key is first turned on. You would think the light might be burned out, but I removed the instrument cluster and tested EVERY bulb. After hooking the instrument cluster back up, the light still wouldn't light, but I still get the 5 beeps.
The horn works (haven't tested the cruise control).
I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting. I have the basic Chilton manual, but it's not troubleshooting the SRS. I understand the cautions when working on the SRS system, but would like to troubleshoot it myself. Unfortunately, I got laid off, and I can't afford to go to the Ford Shop.

Ford Aerostar :: 1996 - Airbag Light Comes On - Code 41 Flashing
Got an air bag code 41. Comes on and flashes the code a number of times, then goes off for the rest of the ride. It is a 96 Arerostar, XLT, 4LV6. From what I read it is a short someplace. Where are the crash sensors and how do you check them for "shorts"? I don't understand much about the whole system.
View 12 RepliesFord Aerostar :: 1994 - Airbag Light Started Blinking
2 or 3 years ago my airbag light started blinking. 120,000 miles, only owner. The code changes daily. Then the car started reviving at highway speeds. Then cruise control wasn't reliable. Sometimes when I hit a bump, the cruise goes off. My mechanic said the reviving felt like it was going in and out of overdrive, so he rebuilt the transmission. No change. This past month, the car started to pull to the right. It felt like I was driving with the brake on, couldn't get up a small hill. Before I could get the car home, the brakes went to the floor and the car stalled. I had it towed to mechanic.
After 10 days, he couldn't duplicate problem, so I took the car back. A few days later, after 4 hours of errands in the hot Texas sun, it did it again for me. Pulled to the right, driving with the brake on feel, brakes to the floor. This time it smelled like something was burning, either brakes, belt or something, and the rear ABS light came on for the first time. Latest mechanic says it is probably a brake booster, but that doesn't explain the reviving does it? I've had it to 2 dealers, 3 mechanics, and no one has a clue what to check apparently. I am a senior, so I can't really start replacing everything. What should I tell them to check, and in what order? I love my Aerostar....
