Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Engine Oil Level High
My engine oil level is reading three inches above the full mark on the dip stick. Do you think there could be diesel fuel or water in the oil system? Notice that the dip stick is not that easy to read. Could this be related to my poor fuel mileage? It can't be doing my engine any good.
View 14 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Downside For Exhaust Brake Usage?
Any downside to using (enabling) the Exhaust Brake (aka 'Jake' Brake) all the time?
I ask since there is a switch to turn this on and off, and I wonder why. My experience driving fire trucks in a previous life was that the Jake Brake was always enabled (I do not recall there being any way to turn it off).
I suppose that on icy roads, it is probably a good idea to not have it on, but that is all I could come up with. Am I missing something?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2011 - Winch Wiring For Rear And Front Usage?
2011 f350 CCLB... I want to wire a hitch mounted winch for both front and rear usage.
I see several 2 ga wire kits with quick disconnects, but was wondering which battery to go to, and which frame rail side to use. The exhaust side kinda worries me due to heat. Although the drivers side has the fuel tank, and I have skid plates blocking the inside of frame, so it doesn't sound pleasant either!
Also, best method to connect to the battery terminals. It appears the battery clamp screw is smaller than standard and wont accept a large ring winch terminal. Is there a "post doubler" available, or should I consider removing the factory cable clamp and replace with a set screw block of some sort? Hate to have a warranty issue due to a non oem battery clamp?
For the limited use, I have consider just getting one of the wiring kits, and adding high amperage "jumper clamps" and running the wire only when used?
Ford Excursion :: Radio Shuts Off At Moments Of High Power Usage
My Radio shuts off at moments of high power usage. Like with the lights all on, blower motors on high, and having the anti locks kick in.
When this happens, I can watch my voltage gauge drop down to 12v or so. Was thinking a Capacitor would solve the issue.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Low Primary Coolant Level
I recently noticed a small bead of coolant on the driver's side of my tie rod coupled with low primary coolant level, so I took it to the dealer expecting to face a radiator issue (50k miles). Instead they said that the lower radiator hose was leaking and recommended replacement. Thinking that we were still headed down the radiator path, I had them do the job.
Upon inspecting the removed hose, I could find no obvious fault, so I inquired further. They clarified that it was the seal which had failed (I guess replacing the entire hose is the fix for this?), that it was contaminants that build up in the coolant which attack the seals, and that I should expect it to happen again if I don't flush the coolant every 10,000 miles (yes, ten thousand).
I asked if he meant to say that I should check the 'coolant additive level' every 10k (instead of 15k) and he again stated that a full flush was necessary every 10k miles and that it was a "maintenance intensive engine." This can't be right.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Tailgate Won't Sit Level When Opened?
I have noticed that the tailgate doesn't sit level when opened, the cables are too short for it to horizontal. The rear of the gate is 1-1/2" higher than the front. The cables need to be about a 1/2" longer for it to sit right.
View 14 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Coolant Level In The Primary Tank Low
2012 6.7 .... Noticed my coolant level in the primary tank was low. Thought it was totally empty but it had about a half inch left in it. Topped it off and also needed about a quarter inch in the secondary. I would say about a half gallon between the two. Truck was at about 36k. Has 37.5 on it now and haven't noticed any loss. Never smelled anything, no signs of any leakage. Oil looks fine. Is this 'normal'? Owners manual says to check and add. Never had this with a gasser or any of my tractors over the past 30 years. This is my first light diesel.
View 14 RepliesFord 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Checking Oil Level - Napkin Not Wet But Dipstick Is?
I know checking your oil level is a pretty easy thing but I am having a serious issue right now. I checked my oil and my dipstick has oil on it but it isn't leaving the napkin wet. Like there is oil on the dip stick but it just doesn't seem right. Nothing on the ground were I stopped at before I got home. How long will it run without causing damage?
View 14 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: How To Check DEF Level Or DPF Filling Status
OK, I've had this truck one month now, and I like it. I think a full-blown analog DEF gauge (a la Dodge) is silly - it doesn't change that much. But I would like to go into a menu somewhere and simply be able to get a reading (90% remaining, 77% remaining, 15% remaining, etc., etc.) From what I understand the 'system check' function will tell you if the level is below half, or just about empty, and nothing else.
Finally, the DPF. Why can't we see EGT on the "gauge" screen which shows tranny and oil temps? Why can't it tell us what % the DPF is filled? When a passive regen is happening? And at the very least, when an active regen is finished?
As a side question, can the high idle control (SEIC) be actuated in any way other than the upfitter switches, which my truck does not have? I understand RAM trucks can press and hold the cruise control or something to activate it.
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Brake Fluid Level Sensor
About a week after my wreck I got the Parking brake light and the message brake fluid level low. The fluid level is fine and I read some other threads where people said the vacuum system was connected somehow. I knew the ESOF didn't work so I replaced the broken line and nothing changed, except the ESOF works now.
Anyway I can't for the life of me find a replacement sensor, part number or anything.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Remote Start Option Level?
What option level has remote start as standard?
Or is it an add on option?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Install 65 Gal Titan Tank Level Sensor Not Working?
Installed a 65 Gal Titan Tank the other day. I Finally got a chance to fill her up all the way.. well as much as i could.
My Level sensor is not functioning and I was only able to put in a total of 160 Liters when it should have been right around 246L.
My question is this : I need to syphon my tank now. Is there anything preventing me from doing that or will a 1/2 hose work?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Exhaust System Cleaning Message / DEF Level Is Not Being Depleted
In the last year I've had a NOX sensor fault (dealer repaired) and a DEF heater fault (I replaced). I'm now getting an EGT sensor fail. Every fault is with the same system.
I'm also realizing that while I'm getting the exhaust system cleaning message, my DEF level is not being depleted.
All the dealership wants to do is change out fault codes but I think the true issue is elsewhere.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2007 - Raise Front To Make Closer To Level?
Like the title says, I want to raise the front of my 07 F350 about 2.5 inches to get it closer to level with the rear with out throwing the alignment out of wack if that's possible. Maybe some blocks to go on the front coils? or will I need new front coils that are a bit longer?
'm talking about the FRONT of my F350.
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2005 - Fuel Level Back Light And Oil Pressure Gauge Out?
The backlight for my fuel level and oil pressure dash gauges are out. Would that require a simple bulb replacement or if there is something more difficult to replace, i.e. entire panel? The red needles illuminate, it's just the gauges themselves that are dark. The truck is my 05 Super Duty in the siggy.
View 3 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2015 F250 Hard To Start When Fuel Level Reached 1/4 Tank
I recently bought a used 2015 F250. When the fuel level reached 1/4 tank it became hard to start. Sometimes up to 6 seconds of cranking to get it to start. I filled it up with fresh diesel and it fired up as soon as I turned the key. A week later the problem returned, this time I was above 1/2 tank. I run the recommended additives, I changed both fuel filters, but it didn't work. I have only had the truck 3 weeks, and it still has a warranty. There are no fault codes, and the truck run great once started. What could be wrong.
View 7 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: DEF Warning Will Not Go Out
I have searched this problem and seen where some have vapor locked or whatever. Tried banging on the tank squeezing the hose etc. Last time warning came on I pulled in and tried to fill it up and it only took between 2 and 2.5 gallons. However the warning went away. This time same thing I know it has not been long enough for another fill maybe 2k miles. So I pulled in again and got just under two gallons in it.
Warning did not go out came home got on here and learned about above mentioned problem and solutions so went to Walmart and got a bottle. Tried to force feed it while tapping on tank and squeezing hose but probably not even a half gallon and still have the warning. I drive a lot so the 455 miles I have left wont last me long. I picked it up 10/23 with30 miles on it and I am right at 30k now. So am I stuck going to the stealership?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Reduced Engine Power Warning Message Pop Up
I have seen this pop up on the truck I think 3 times now over the first 4000 miles on the truck.
Usually it's when I'm on the highway around 70mph or so.
It comes on for a few seconds, then goes away. I do have an exhaust / tune on the car.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Reduced Engine Power Warning
Getting reduced engine power warning with no other lights on the dash and what is probably causing it. The truck is a 14 f450 cab and chassis model. I had just had it to the dealer for this problem and the check engine light was on and the said there were two sensors going bad on the exhaust so they changed them out and sent me on my way. Well after driving the truck around all day and not one issue it had just decided to set the rep warning again but did not set off any lights...
