Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: E550 - Backup Beeper Warning Goes On Sometimes When First Start It And Step On The Brake
My E550 van front/box back has an electrical problem.
Sometimes when I first start it and step on the brake my backup beeper warning goes on. Most times it stops once I start driving, but sometimes it continues for a while or comebacks back by chance. Doesn't matter where the shifter lever is, park, reverse or drive.
Yesterday it woke up really bad and anytime I used a turn signal or flasher I got a fast blinker and beeper going. Figured I had a light bulb out. Looked around the truck and noticed no taillights. Shut truck off went inside a building with flashers on, beeper was going. When I restarted, beeper stopped and I had right side taillights but no left Drivers side.
Drove back home still no left side. Where to start looking. Electrical is not my strong suit.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Backup Camera Won't Working?
Went to back out of the driveway yesterday and no picture on my nav screen. It switched to the camera screen but it is just black. I unplugged the connection at the rear of the truck before the tailgate and plugged it back in. Everything seemed fine with the connection. I also have a lock pick installed but if I remember correctly the camera still plugs directly into the nav unit.
View 14 RepliesFord 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Tach Quit Working - Warning Lights Staying
Well today the tach was not working at all and the check gauge, check engine and glow plug lights are staying on. Truck runs and starts great, everything else seems to work except the trans temp gauge. Did a search for the GEM and could not find anything that indicates the GEM controls the tach and warning lights.

Was wondering if there is a way to adjust the view angle of the back-up camera? Mine appears to be a little off center.
View 6 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Ice / Snow On Backup Sensor - Alarm Started Beeping
Last night I backed my truck up to allow another family member to leave, and the back-up sensor alarm started beeping, like it does when the tail-gate is down and backing up.
The truck had not been driven on Christmas day, but it had rained and snowed lightly (dusting), then the temp dropped to 20 degrees.
Can a light dusting/ice cause the sensor to react the same as a close object. I think it does, just trying to confirm.
Prius V :: How To Turn Off Backup Beeper When Reverse Selected
How do I turn off the backup beeper? The internal beeper is not necessary when I selected reverse.

I disabled the backup beeper in my 07. Now I have an ever so slight horn chirp that I hear. There is no consistency to the chirp, but it is a bit bothersome.

I'm looking at maybe trading for a 2004 F350 with a studded and deleted 6.0. It has a "thumping" sound coming through the intake like an exhaust valve is staying closed. My question is, how common is it for the rocker arm retainer or rocker itself to fail? It has 204k miles, and the owner says he was on his way home about 2 weeks ago and it just started doing it.
View 3 RepliesFord 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Loss Of Power When Driving Or Leaving From A Stopped Position
I have searched and the only thing close is bad sensor for water in fuel light but it does not say they lost power. When driving or leaving from a stopped position, if I put any extra load on engine by pressing on accelerator pedal fast the water in fuel light comes on and the glow plug light comes on and the truck loses all power. Not 12V power just engine power. I have to let off the pedal and the lights go out and I have power again. Until I press the pedal hard again and it does it again. I have drained the filters and replaced them and still the same.
View 14 RepliesFord 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Engine Will Not Shut Off When Key Is In Off Position
I am working on a 2007 F350 ambulance for a volunteer fire department. It run great, even with the key turned off sometimes. This is an intermittent problem. About every 10 times it is used the engine will not shut off when you turn the key off. The instrument cluster turns on and off as normal. The other odd part is if you leave the key in the off position when the engine does not turn off the RPM starts going up. I have not left it in off long enough to see how high it would go. It does not have a remote start and never has.

06 6.0 fan clutch stuck in engaged position. So I changed the fan clutch it doesn't stay engaged anymore. comes on during startup and gives the appearance that the batteries are dying. Stays on for about 10 minutes when first driving then goes off. If I run ac it comes on at every light and it doesn't matter what engine coolant temp or oil temp and they are all within 6 degrees of each other. I'm thinking maybe the AC is a issue or bad sensor somewhere. No codes everything seems to be functioning. When I say comes on it's on high speed roaring.

View 6 RepliesFord 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: FICM And Throttle Position Actuator Faults
Been starting get some faults that seems unrelated other than (I think is the) harness. Intermittent low voltage to the FICM and Throttle position actuator faults (I have a 04). All voltages and battery power is solid as a rock. Watching the throttle during key on and it too will do it's self test intermittently. Looking at the cable and noticed that it seemed to be repaired with black tape in the chaffing areas. Knowing that it went threw the recall of that cable, I was under the impression that it was replaced not repaired. Anyway I would like to know how hard it is to change it and any part numbers would be useful.

View 1 RepliesFord 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Running Rough / Crank Position Sensor Codes
It's an 04 F250 with the 6.0, and has been there about five months now. The backstory I have been given is that it drove in running rough, gave crank position sensor codes, and the CPS was replaced. That was the last time it ran. Since then, it has had the CPS replaced five times, the FICM rebuilt then replaced three times, the engine harness replaced, and spent some time at Ford. It would only show about 30rpm while cranking. The engineer came and looked at it, said it must be the tone ring on the crank and that's it.
Here's where it's at for me: Cranking RPM peaked out at 57, but the fan rpm was about 180 while cranking and it sounded like it was cranking pretty quick. I disconnected the glow plug module, had another guy crank it while I gave it a quick shot of starting fluid, which it caught and started to run on. It sounded like it was running on fuel for a second, then shut back off and now cranks unevenly.
According to the owner this thing has seen lots of starting fluid in the course of diagnosing it, and there were no odd noises before it shut down so I suspect stuck valves from sitting so long. It did give me a whole bunch of codes which I will post tomorrow, including injector #4 high. I tried to do a buzz test but just got a message saying "unknown code, please wait" and then nothing.
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2005 F350 - No Start / Crank Position And Cam Portion Sensor Codes
I have an 05 f350 6.0 that I recently bought. It was fine until a few weeks ago when it died while I was driving down the road. I pulled to the side and it started right back up like nothing happened and kept driving like normal. Skip to last weekend it did it to me twice but the second time it would not start so I plugged my programmer in and it showed p0336 crank position sensor and cam portion sensor codes (I can't remember the number of the second code) I have read a few posts that said maybe it's the icp sensor so I went ahead and replaced that with no luck. The batteries went dead from excessive cranking which I know isn't very good for my starter but I was getting a little upset.
View 11 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: DEF Warning Will Not Go Out
I have searched this problem and seen where some have vapor locked or whatever. Tried banging on the tank squeezing the hose etc. Last time warning came on I pulled in and tried to fill it up and it only took between 2 and 2.5 gallons. However the warning went away. This time same thing I know it has not been long enough for another fill maybe 2k miles. So I pulled in again and got just under two gallons in it.
Warning did not go out came home got on here and learned about above mentioned problem and solutions so went to Walmart and got a bottle. Tried to force feed it while tapping on tank and squeezing hose but probably not even a half gallon and still have the warning. I drive a lot so the 455 miles I have left wont last me long. I picked it up 10/23 with30 miles on it and I am right at 30k now. So am I stuck going to the stealership?
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Reduced Engine Power Warning Message Pop Up
I have seen this pop up on the truck I think 3 times now over the first 4000 miles on the truck.
Usually it's when I'm on the highway around 70mph or so.
It comes on for a few seconds, then goes away. I do have an exhaust / tune on the car.
