Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Steering Wheel Develop A Sticky Feeling

Have a steering problem with my 2011 Elantra. While driving "straight" and maintaining a center location in the lane, the steering wheel will develop (for lack of a better word) a sticky feeling. When you try to move the wheel beyond the sticky spot it causes you to overcompensate. Hyundai and two different dealers look at me like I am nuts. They test drive it but don't test it properly to feel the problem, they will test it by changing lanes and making turns. The problem is not always present and only happens when driving straight and when you move your hand slightly left and right to stay center in the lane.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2013 - Lack Of Power / Vibration Like Feeling On The Gas Pedal

I bought an Elantra Gls 2013 automatic 4 doors approx 6 months ago. I have 2 issues with it ....

1- there are lack of power/acceleration issues when driving at speeds between 60 kms/hr and 80 kms/hr. If I drive at 80 kms/hr for awhile and have to slow down like say 60 or 55 kms/hr and need to reaccelerate again, the car seems to lose all its momentum. It's like the automatic transmission didn't downshift and is still in 6th gear at 1500 rpms when I slowed down to 55 kms/hr and ready to reaccelerate. I try to accelerate slowly and it's like there's an air bubble underneath the gas pedal (or resistance). I really have to step on the gas harder so the rpms will go to 2500 and then the car really picks up. It's not a steady regular acceleration....???

2- There's this vibration like feeling on the gas pedal and around driver side floor when the rpm reaches approx 2500 ( when the transmission shifts gears ). I can deal with the noisy engine but when you also feel the vibration / like metal when the car reaches 2500 rpms, it is really really annoying.

Is this common?

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Tapping Noise On Cold Start

Mine is just like this other owner's Elantra. Stealership say's "it normal". Surprise, surprise!

When I asked him how come my car wasn't doing it 50 miles ago and the 2013 loaner doesn't do it, his answer was "it's warrantied to 100k". I call BS. It's the timing chain tensioner or the the guides or both.

I say Hyundai knows about this and does not want to pay for warranty work because it's a costly job labor wise. Just like the Sonata's tensioner problems of the past.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Tapping From Tire When Turning Left On The Highways

I took a trip up to New Hampshire about a month ago and on the way back I noticed when turning left on the highways (Not fully turning but on like say an offramp) I would hear a thumping sound coming from the front left side tire. When I got back onto the island it was not as noticeable I guess mainly due to the fact that we don't really have offramps like up in New England that could replicate that sound.

However to make a long story short tonight I was backing up into my driveway and noticed that while turning the wheel I heard that same tapping noise coming from the same tire. It is hard to explain but it is definitely not from the brakes because it was making the sound while turning with no brakes applied. What this could be?

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Semi Loud Tapping Noise Coming From The Engine

I have noticed that when the car was in park today right after I started her I heard a semi loud tapping noise coming from the engine... It slowed down when I turned the wheels or played with the brakes... As I went into drive the noise went away after about 20 feet of driving..

What this could be? Is it normal... Just bought the car last week with 45K miles on it and just want to make sure if it is a normal noise or not or whether I should bring her into the dealer.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2014 - Tapping / Clicking Sound On Cold Starts

So my 2014 Elantra makes a tapping/ticking sound on cold starts which stays audible after the oil gets up to temp for at least until about 10 minutes of driving. I've heard this noise since I bought the car and of course kept searching all over the forums but everyone seems to have a different opinion as to what causes it and if it's normal or not. I finally decided to drop my car off at the dealer overnight so they could start in the morning and diagnose it. They listened, ran some tests on the engine and said everything was fine, nothing was damaged and that the sound is from the second fuel pump that is located over the engine.

They tested my fuel and said it's making the sound because I'm using a heavy fuel quality, then the tech told me I should run a fuel cleaner every other time I fill the car up. This seems excessive to me? I only fill my car up with Shell gas and avoid discount places which the tech agreed that Shell gas should be fine. I only have 22k miles on the car do I really need to be running cleaners every other tank of gas? Also wondering if using non ethanol gas would fix this problem. I did run 1 tank of non-ethanol but didn't notice a difference and since non-ethanol costs more than premium I went back to regular. I will try a fuel cleaner though?

Hyundai - Elantra :: Stiff Drive - Hard To Reach 40 Mph Without Engine Feeling Heavily Over Worked

When I drive my car, is fine for the first twenty minutes. After which time, the car drives like the E brake is on. Further, when I'm in city streets, the rpms go really high just to hit 25 mph. When I take my foot off the gas, the car gradually slows to the point where the car stops while in drive. Even if i press the gas, I have to press hard before the car moves. And when it does move, is like the E brake is on because it acts like it doesn't want to move. While traveling, is hard to reach 40 mph without the engine feeling heavily over worked.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Water Getting In On Passenger Side Floorboard

I have a 99 F-250 Super Duty 4WD and here lately when it rains a lot I have a lot of water getting in on the passenger side floorboard coming from somewhere under the right front under the dash. I have looked under the cowling and don't think it is from there. I heard of someone having water funnel in from the 3rd brake light gasket and I did replace that because it had some leakage but after last nights heavy rain it has soaked my carpet again. Once i dried it I drove it and lots of water came from somewhere and completely soaked a bath towel. It may be from the heater blower area and filling up the box under the dash till it runs out???

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 - Water In Passenger Side Floorboard?

I bought my wife a 1999 F250 SD a few weeks ago and we both are loving it, but a few days ago she noticed water in the passenger side floorboard. We've been having a ton of rain lately, so much that I think I saw a big boat with a bunch of animals floating in my backyard yesterday. Seriously though, normally I'd assume that the heater core was leaking, but this was just water, no antifreeze. Obviously the water is from a leak somewhere, but I can't find it for the life of me. I sat in the truck in a pouring rain and didn't find a leak anywhere. The carpet is wettest around the area where the door sill trim meets the kick panel, however she said she had seen a few drops of water standing on the top of the floor mat.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F350 - Front / Passenger Floorboard And Carpet Is Very Wet

I have a '99 F350 4 door. After a good rain (I live in the Pacific NW), my front, passenger floorboard/carpet is very wet. The interesting thing is, before the latest rain, I pulled up the carpet and put a towel on the slant between the dashboard and foot area. I expected the leak to be behind the dashboard, then run down to the flat footwell. Surprisingly, the towel was not wet; however, the flat foot area was. Especially closest to the seat. The slanting part of the carpet and towel were not wet. If the leak is not coming from the windshield/firewall/behind the dashboard, where else could it be? Also, the truck was parked during the entire time.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Water Splashed On The Passenger Floorboard / Wiper Cowl Drain Clogged?

Ive got a 99 F250 (5.4 if that matters), after a good long rain like the one we had this weekend, when I drive the truck I get water splashed on the passenger floorboard. It hold enough water that if I rock the truck side to side I can hear it sloshing. I am wondering if there is a common drain for these things that gets clogged. When my a/c runs I get a nice puddle under the truck so it looks like that is not clogged up, and I didn't know if they were the same drain or not.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Strange Wandering Feeling When Heading Down Road

Okay, so this is a very intermittent problem but it has been happening more and more lately. When this scenario happens, it is like the rough spot when driving in manually locked 4WD when turning the wheel, but it is where the steering wheel would be to go completely straight and when I try and correct it, it is like the wheel just over corrects when I try and the truck heads the direction the wheel is facing. I'm not sure what this problem is but it is really confusing me. The hubs are both in auto and the ESOF switch is to 2WD if that makes a difference. And it happened today after I made a left turn into the parking lot on campus.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Grind Feeling Through Gas Pedal And Noise From Front Right Suspension

I have a new 2016 F250, few months old, loving life. I noticed a weird noise/feeling when I am making turns while going over a bumps. There is a left hand turn on my way home that I take every day at approx 15 mph. There is a dip in the road and I can feel a weird grind kinda feeling through the gas pedal and a noise from the front right suspension. Being a brand new truck, I'm not sure what the deal is, or if I'm just overly critical.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2016 - Brake Pedal Too High

I purchased a new 2016 Elantra about a month ago. I like the car although the driving position took a little bit of getting used too. Anyways, after 2000 miles my ankle has begun to hurt due to the height difference between the gas and brake. Is there any way to lower the brake closer to the floor to make them a bit more even?

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2016 - FM Radio Buzzing / Humming Interference

I just purchased a 2016 Hyundai Elantra and the FM radio channels are all experiencing intermittent "buzzing/humming" on them in the background.

AM and Sattelite radio are fine. I've checked on other FM radios from same locations as the Elantra, and those are fine too.

Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2016 - Road Noise And Harshness Of Ride

I currently own a 2016 Elantra Limited and I'm at my wits end with the amount of road noise and harshness of the ride. I have already got rid of the Hankook tires and replaced them with Pirelli P7 Cinturato as many on this forum have suggested. I also replaced my rear shocks with KYBs. While both had a small effect on both the noise and harshness this car is still intolerable from a noise and harshness standpoint. When going over any bumps or joints in the road it seems as the suspension amplifies the bumps making them feel and sound bigger than they actually are.

It seems impossible that such a new vehicle can ride like this, but apparently it's a characteristic of the poorly designed suspension. When driving I can't believe how terrible the car is in this regard.

So replacing 17" rims with 15" or 16" makes noticeable difference? Or is this a hopeless case?

My question is about the sound when you lock the doors with the key fob - is it supposed to sound really weak and chirpy? It doesn't sound like when you honk the horn, it sounds broken but maybe it's supposed to sound like that I don't know?
