Azera HG (2011-16) :: Howl Noise Between 1000 - 1500 RPM Whether In Motion Or In Park
I just took delivery of a 2015 pewter gray base azera. It is my second one as I purchased a leftover 2013 last year. The sonatas had to go just not comfortable enough for me. Between 1000-1500 rpm whether in motion or in park I get a sound like an owl hooting. my 2013 does not do it.i can make it do it any time I want. This is really annoying in traffic it actually can be heard with the radio on. the dealer said it is normal and let me drive another new one on a test drive and it does it too. Almost sounds like it could be a harmonic noise in the intake or exhaust. Going to see if I can pinpoint it this weekend. I am very disappointed as my 2013 has 36k on it and other than the rattle at start up no issues.
View 2 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Clicking Noise When Driving In Rainy Weather And In Reverse Motion
This is for a mk6 GTI with 6500km
There is a "wheel of fortune" clicking noise coming from the front of the car under the following conditions:
- the car is in motion in reverse (e.g. backing up when parking) with steering wheel cranked (near) full left or right
- Happens only on rainy days (I've noticed it a few days back, and maybe 2 weeks prior to that)
The clicking sound isn't there when weather is dry or when I am backing up straight
Camry :: 2005 - Popping Noise By Driver Side When In Park?
I have a 05 camry that is making popping noises by the drivers side when the wheel is turned once around (left or right) in PARK. Everything looked good to me, I just recently got the car back from a shop.
*The car doesn't pop when it is in motion, because of this, I raised the front of the car to test and see if it would make the popping noise but there no popping noise either.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Clicking Noise When Shifting From Park
My car engine is G4KD 2.0 L 2009, no shift interlocking mechanism installed (I don't have the small button near the gear box to release it) also I am able to shift from P to anything else while the car not turned on, and I can shift without the brake.
2 weeks ago, I started to hear click noise (I am not sure if it was there before, maybe it got louder) when I switch from P to R, and from N to D, my car is on 80000 Km and didn't replace the gear box oil (dealer said oil is fine).
Car run smoothly but I am curious why I have this click.
Touareg :: Loud Clicking Noise From Shifter When Running While In Park
I noticed today when my Touareg is running but in park, each time I step on the brake I hear a loud clicking noise coming from the shifter. I assume the noise is the safety lock engaging and disengaging that allows you to put the car in gear while the brake pedal is pressed. I never noticed the noise before but usually I have the radio on. Is it normal to be able to hear this noise?
View 2 RepliesFord - F150 :: Rolls When In Park / Clicking Noise From Underneath
The other day I put my truck in park and it started to slowly roll, and while it did made a clicking noise from underneath, till it finally caught and stopped. About the same time, it would only start if I put the selector on N. This problem is not every time I start it maybe 30% of the time. It had been a few days since the rolling in park incident, but today I put the truck in part, it started rolling, again making a grinding noise, but it never stopped rolling. Had to use the E brake to get it to stay in place. On my drive home I turned the radio off and everything sounds good when shifting gears. If I have to start the truck with the selector in N no big deal, if I have to start using the E brake no big deal. But is this the start of some bigger transmission problem? My knowledge of vehicles only allows me to check the transmission fluid, and it was within the cross hatched lines.Truck is a 98 F-150, 6 cylinder, 60K miles. Not sure if I want to start putting large sums of money in this thing or consider an upgrade.
View 19 RepliesAcura - Integra :: Clicking Sound On Right Front Wheel When Car Is In Motion Only
1987 model with 160k
Had the two tires changed a week ago - all was fine. Then developed this clicking sound when the car is moving forward.
After it first made this noise, it stopped on its own for three days - now hearing again. I looked under and could not see anything. CV boot seems fine and are recent too.
Every 2 yrs I have Sears service my brakes - not sure disc brake is slipped and touching something - never did that before but several years ago, tire shop adjusted saying it slipped.
I checked the lug nuts - they are tight. What is going on?
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Clicking Noise In Park Or Brake Pedal Press Down - Brake Switch Noise?
The truck in my sig. makes a clicking noise when it's in the park and I press the brake pedal down. The click is coming from somewhere up high in the steering column. It doesn't make the clicking noise in any other gear only in park. Might be normal but I don't remember hearing it before?
View 9 RepliesTouareg :: 2005 - Air Suspension / Kinking Motion When Going Around Roundabouts?
I have an 05 V10 Touareg with air suspension. I often experience a kinking motion when going around roundabouts. It is as though the car wants to go straight even though the steering wheel is turning to the right or left. It is random, and my dealer has experianced the kinking and says that it should be expected. A friend of mine also has a V10 and his doesn't do it.
View 2 RepliesAvalon 2005-12 :: Clicking Noise From Navigation DVD?
I've had a 2012 Limited for a few months now and love it, especially the quiet nature of the interior cabin. Ironically it was because of that I started to hear a noise that has become quite irritating. It was clearly coming from the CD / Navigation system and began (or at least that's when I first noticed it) after I installed a music CD for the first time. The noise sounded like the CD player was constantly searching for a CD so I filled all 4 CD slots, but the noise continued. I called my dealer and of course they have never heard of this issue before (do they take classes and rehearse that line, they deliver it so convincingly no matter how ridiculous it makes them look!) I have now removed the Navi DVD and that is clearly the source as the noise has stopped. My question, is this normal or do I have a service issue here?
View 3 RepliesCamry 2012+ :: SE V6 - Cannot Use Navigation When Car Is In Motion
I just bought my 2012 SE V6 about 6 months ago. Totally loving my car! But just a small inconvenience, the car doesn't let you use the navigation when the car is in motion.
Just wondering if there is any way to override that safety feature? I know it is dangerous to operate navigation while driving so of course it will be the person in the front passenger seat who's using it.
Mazda - Mazda3 :: 2005 Making Clicking Noise
I have a mazda 3 and i just tried to start it but its just making a clicking noise. The radio works so does that rule battery out....
View 4 RepliesJeep - Grandcherokee :: 2005 - Clicking Noise From Thermostat
I recently began hearing a noise from my car when I change the temperature inside the vehicle. When I adjust my temperature control either direction, hotter or colder, I hear a temporary clicking noise that is pretty loud. It sounds like it is coming from behind the dash. It sounds mechanical and stops after a few seconds. I have a manual temperature dial. This is not a digital display or climate control. This is on a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
View 6 RepliesFord - Explorer :: 2005 - Clicking Noise In Cold
I have a 2005 Ford Explorer. Every time I start my car and it has been off for more than a couple of hours it makes a clicking noise that goes away as the car warms up. This happened once last fall and I took the car in for an oil change and the noise got much better then completely stopped. It just came back within the last couple of weeks, but I just had an oil change about a month ago. I checked the oil and it's not low. The noise was going away after less than a minute, but now it has started lasting more like five minutes (depending on how long it takes me to get on the freeway). By the time I arrive to work the car is quiet.
I keep reading that this probably has something to do with the lifters. Some people say that it might be engine sludge, etc and that a cleaning agent might be useful. Other people say that cleaning agents might be harmful. Someone told me I just need to get my lifters replaced. That's an expensive repair. I am just not sure what to do and I am afraid that just taking it to my mechanic will lead to getting new lifters whether completely necessary or not and I can't really afford it.
Camry 2012+ :: Cannot Use NAV Or Dial Phone While Car In Motion

View 2 RepliesMalibu :: 2005 - Constantly Making Turn Signal Clicking Noise
My 05 Malibu classic is making the turn signal clicking noise constantly which then causes the warning chime to start going off. I have replaced the turn signal assembly three times and each time it fixes it for a short time then it starts again.
View 4 RepliesAvalon 2005-12 :: Clicking Noise From Engine Area With Certified Used 2008 XLS
I have the annoying "clicking noise" with my certified used 2008 Avalon XLS. It only occurs after the car has been sleeping overnight or after five hours or so of not the running. So this is normal according to two dealers and that I need to watch it but it isn't an issue- normal. Still, it does not leave me feeling good about it. The car has 56k miles and it is smooth, quiet and responsive, just that "ticking". It does go away after 15 minutes or so of driving. They told me why it's happening and I found some answers here, on the forum.
My question is- will it get worse? Will Toyota only address it when the "ticking" gets loud and does not go away and I'm pushing smoke from the tail pipes?
I've been reading up on the LSC 90K recall with the defective VVT-i oil line. How can I find out if my Avalon has had the oil line replaced? Just a bit confused about if any records should exist for this and where I can find out.
