Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension :: Acute High Blood Pressure, Blocked Ears, Head Pressure

I am a fit, healthy 28 year old guy who has spontaneously developed severe high blood pressure, temporal pressure headaches, dizzy spells and blocked ears. The symptoms vary, with acute periods lasting a couple hours and occurring on a weekly basis. Generally an acute period is characterized by severe headaches, needing to lie down, blocked ears and extreme lethargy.

I have had CT’s and MRI’s of the brain and cervical spine, PET scans, ECHO’s, a multitude of blood tests and various other tests with no abnormalities.

I gym 4 times a week, eat healthy and work as a hairdresser, so my lifestyle is pretty healthy overall.

This condition is starting to limit my lifestyle and with two years of no answers I am putting it out there for someone to recognize or provide advice about what could potentially be going on!

Addison's Disease :: Low Blood Pressure And Dizzy Spells?

A few months ago my blood pressure plummeted-and recently I've been EXHAUSTED. I have to nap daily and have no energy. My blood pressure today at a GI appt was 75/62 the week prior it was 75/53. I've had several drs comment but I never really get noticeably dizzy as I've had dizzy spells on and off all my life. But with this utter exhaustion my GI said I should follow up asap w my primary dr.

Also, for years I've had upper left sharp stabbing pains-we've suspected my pancreas but scans are always clear.

Does this sound like it could be addisons? I'm not sure what else could cause this low bp (which is not normal for me)-I had my heart checked recently, was fine.

Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LRP) - Ears Are Blocked

I have LPR and have noticed lately that I have a sensation of blocked ears, well actually just one ear, but it alternates. I have had them checked and there's no wax of blockage. I have read on the forum that LPR can cause blocked ears but does anyone have any recommendations of how to clear them ?

I drink alkaline water, eat the correct foods, knock Gaviscon Advance back like it's going out if fashion( which does help), but I have just noticed the ear blockage.

Child Has Constant Blocked Ears And Popping

Wondered if anyone can give me any advice. my 9 year old says that his ears have never cleared after a long haul flight over a year ago. he says that when they pop he hears clearly for a bit then they block back up again. he says that he feels like he's underwater and sometimes gets dizzy, he can also hear them crunching when he moves jaw. i've taken him to the doctors and she looked in ears and said they were both clear and that was that. so no solution ....

I have had LPR for two years without much success with PPIs. All i want to do is sleep now because it is making me very sad and lonely.

When will this all end?

Silent Acid Reflux) :: Suffocation, Blocked Ears, Bladder Sensitivity And Weight Loss

I have been going through some strange and debilitating symptoms for the last months - I started having IBS-like symptoms since early March (mainly soft loose stool and flatulence, burping and couple strange episodes of fatty stools and lactose intolerance - Was not lactose intolerant before), also discomfort in the rectum area (which previous GP think was hemorrhoids and could be what's causing the feeling of fullness), but things started to get really strange since beginning of July:

- I started having feeling of suffocation/not getting enough air and my throat closed up (but no pain or discomfort when swallowing)

-Feeling of compression around Sternum (which seem to come and go)

- Blocked ears (stuffy, no pain)

- White phlegm (seems to be coming from the area just below the Adam's Apple, with some episodes of hemoptysis)

-Weight loss (14 lbs in 2 months)

-Numbness in hands/arms (seem to come and go) and couple nights when my legs kinda kicked a bit (now stopped)

-Muscle soreness (after exercising)

-Insomnia (either can't fall asleep or wake up sometime from feeling of not getting enough air or having to go the loo)

-Cold hands/feet

-Bladder became sensitive (when pressed and increased urination, almost seem to not keeping water, with darker urine in the morning than usual and feeling of dehydration)

- Had episodes of diarrhea which has now disappeared

- An inflamed/uncomfortable feeling in the rectum (my current GP said the hemorrhoids at the area look bit dilated), which seem to relate to the new bladder sensitivity.

Basically my whole middle tube (from throat all the way down) seem to be "squeezed" and closed up.

I have been looking and no visible blood in stool so far (Hemocult stool test were negative), my new GP has been quite supportive and we are doing as many tests as possible, some bloodwork came back and indicated:

-No anemia
-Raised level of total IgE of 1280
-No evidence of Diabetes type 1 (if I remembered correctly)
-No raised level of Eosinophils, CRP, no antinuclear antigen present)
-No detectable abdominal lumps/tender spots
-Five parasite stool samples negative - Although with the low Eosinophils level I should maybe forget about looking for parasites?

- A GI specialist has suggested the respiratory symptoms could be caused by silent acid reflux as I don't feel any heartburn sensations but do have most of the signs of silent acid reflux, the IBS-like symptoms and weight loss could be from fat malabsorption since the unabsorbed fat could act like lube and cause the symptoms?

Just curious could this all be caused by SIBO? Or damages of eating too much spicy foods as I did that for almost 2 years till this year before all the symptoms started showing?

Menopause :: Clear / Pinkish Discharge After 4 Years - Gayne Tests Under Anaesthetic?

I am now, however, shaking like a leaf because I have just been to see my GP - expecting him to reassure me also that it's nothing to worry about at this stage - and he looked extremely worried and has referred me to a gynae, saying that it will need looking into within the next two weeks.

In short: I hadn't had a period since 28th June 2011 until about  3-4 weeks ago when I had the preamble - clear discharge followed a few days later by sore breasts, followed a week later by a couple days of very slight pinkish bleeding. Before the one in 2011, I hadn't had a period for a year. Before which time, they had been extremely heavy for a few years.

What has freaked me out is that the doctor seemed to think this was very urgent, and says "in these cases" they would want to see me within two weeks. He is referring me today to the gynae and says that they may want to have me into hospital to do tests under anaesthetic!

I asked him if this would be general or local, and he said I would need to discuss this with the gynae.

I am almost in tears :''(  I am terrified. I have never in my life spent time in hospital and I have never before had a general anaesthetic and am terrified of this. When I was 8, I had a lot of teeth out under gas and ever since I am terrified of being put to sleep.

Does anyone have any experiences of gynae involvement and what tests they might do, and how invasive they are? both in terms of literally invasive and of types of anaesthetic that can be used.

I do know/feel sure that I have fibroids but have never actually had this diagnosed, because of the same fear of hospital procedures - as soon as I knew that it would involve putting on a hospital gown and being poked around in some way, I didn't pursue investigating this via the doctor.

Another thing I haven't yet mentioned on this forum - and had to mention to the doctor, which might be why he freaked out and treated this so severely - is that I have never in my life had a successful smear test. Every time they attempted one on me, years ago, I would tense completely and seize up (it's psychological, not physical) and they were unable to get deep enough to get a good scraping. The only time they managed to get any scraping, they came back to me with the result that it wasn't enough sample to get a good testing and they would need to repeat the smear test. And I bottled out of course at that point, having pushed myself beyond my limit to try to relax enough for them to get that sample. It was like I had made my supreme effort and it still wasn't enough...

The doctor today said that in view of this history of being unable to relax in order to have a successful smear test, this is why he is referring me forthwith to the gynae and why he said they might recommend going into hospital and having anaesthetic!

I had hoped that he might have a better solution as to how I could be relaxed enough for them to do a smear, but such a solution was not forthcoming today.

I don't know what to do because I simply cannot bottle out this time, as he seemed to think it was urgent as it might possibly be serious (he said it "might be a problem with the cervix" but I can't explain how terrified I am about the hospital involvement of this.

I don't have any option but to go ahead and see this gynae. But does anyone have similar experiences who can tell me more of what I might expect to happen next? or suggest what I might ask the gynae to do or not do, in the way of tests etc?

Frequent Dizzy Spells

Whenever I stand up after sitting for a few hours, I feel extremely dizzy and sometimes my vision just kinda black out and become blur for at least a few seconds. I know this is common if you have been sitting for too long. But I have it very frequently, at least 2-3 times a day. I don't used to have this last time even if I sat down for quite a long period.

I have been eating well and sleeping well. My blood pressure measures 92/62 which I suppose is in the healthy zone. My family and boyfriend said I have lost weight, but I still look the same

I was sat down in work yesterday (I work in a bank so I stare at a screen all day) and I just couldn't look at the screen for long periods of time it made me feel quite dizzy but when I walked I was okay, was wondering if anyone else also feels like their anxiety never goes away like it feels as though there is something always there, whether it's feeling sick having a panic attack or just a feeling of unease
