Uterine Fibroids :: Treatment And Symptoms?
I'm 45 Been having irregular periods for 2 years but lately I've been bleeding heavy for the past 6 weeks with only 2 short breaks . My GP fast tracked me to see a gynaecologist for a hystography ( I think that's what it was called). And a scan interna. Which detected fibroids don't know how many just that they are the size of smarties!
My stomach is huge and I feel so depressed and tired and have done for a long time. I'm going to go to GP and have it all explained. Trouble is I get married in November and my wedding dress is too tight because if the big tummy . I really need to go back to work tomorrow but I have no energy. Glad I'm not going through this alone as at the moment I feel like a freak!
And I have the other joys of needing tena pads and laxatives!
IBS And Ulcerative Colitis Together - Symptoms? Treatment?

For the last couple of days I have been extremely itchy. The itching is mainly towards the bum and at the vaginal opening. I do
have a white patch at the vaginal opening but towards bum it is mostly red and feels bumpy. The itching is keeping me awake at night. I take baking soda baths, apply coconut oil and have a cream made up of 3% steroid and canes tan . I am not on clob. Or Dermovate. So questions
What else can help the itching?
When LS is under control do symptoms stay away for a day, a week, or a month?
I was diagnosed in Oct 2015 and have issues almost everyday since when I have a day when I feel 'normal'. I could sing, fly jump with joy for the relief
Does clob help the itch?
Does LS spread more if it's not treated?
if it is treated will it stay more in one area.
62 Years Sufferings Of Familial Mediterranean Fever
I am a female 62 years of age who has suffered with FMF since I was a child of 8 years old - but not diagnosed until I was 45 years old. The FMF attacks mimicked several different medical conditions - first I had my appendix taken out at age 8 because of abdominal pains, then at 32 I had a hysterectomy because my "attacks" happened during my monthly menstrual cycle, then the attacks continued and mimicked gall bladder attacks - so I had my gallbladder out! At the age of 45 I was diagnosed with FMF when I made a trip to Israel and visited specialists in this area of expertise to finally get a diagnosis. It was a long time to finally get a medical diagnosis as most of my adult life I was told by doctors that it was stress related and that I should learn how to control the stress in my life!
I was hospitalized each and every month for at least 4 days because of the severity of the attacks and the dehydration of vomiting. Colchicine has kept it a manageable level for me and kept me out of hospital. After 17 years I am now getting side effects of Colchicine of numbness in my hands and feet. Now I have to find another drug that I can use in order to keep the FMF under control.
Eustachian Tube Dysfunction :: Information, Symptoms And Treatment / Cure
As far as I know, there is not ETD cure, yet. I am interested in finding one. I am a Caucasian 34 year old man living in Santa Clara, CA. I have a BA in Psychology and work in a Neuroscience Lab. I was diagnosed with ETD a year ago. I have been suffering from it for 17 years. 13 years ago I had a bought of Bulimia that lasted for about a year. I had Anorexia Nervosa as an adolescent. I was given the maximum dose of testosterone to boost me through puberty since Anorexia was preventing it. Soon after I abused alcohol, marijuana, tobacco, and various other drugs until 2005. I believe all these factors have contributed to my ETD. I was diagnosed with OCD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder two years ago and have been taking Effexor (Venlafaxine) to cope. An Ear, Nose, Throat doctor (currently called Head and Neck surgeon in US) prescribed me Flunisolide (corticosteroid) to reduce ETD inflammation. It seems to help a little, but it is certainly not a cure, even when used for a significant period of time (i.e. 3 weeks).
My ETD has been recently aggravated by my attempts to remove pimples and skin tags, which may be a symptom of OCD. Has anyone else experienced this situation? Numerous doctors say there is no connection between the skin abrasions and ETD, but they obviously don't have ETD.
Primarily, I am asking for information regarding ETD. I need to know the statistics of ETD so that I can develop a valid research proposal. Health organizations neglect to respond to my questions. It seems that most biological research is involved in diseases such as cancer and heart disease, which is great. But, as I am sure that anyone reading this knows, Eustachian Tube Dysfunction is a debilitating disease that hinders one's ability to live to their fullest potential. As I have recently graduated with a Bachelors degree. I am researching what my next step will be. I am strongly leaning towards statistics and data mining, since that is a much needed position in all research fields.
I am looking for information on the number of people with ETD worldwide and specific to certain regions. A timeline of ETD cases in these regions. Research groups, Academic and Professional, that are researching ETD. Research groups that are investigating ETD from the Neuroscience and/or Ear, Nose, Throat (Head and Neck surgery) perspective. Any other information is helpful as well, especially your own personal accounts of ETD. Please share your history, as much as you care to disclose, so that I can begin to develop an etiology of ETD.
I have read many of the other discussions on ETD and recognize that many of you are suffering and I certainly empathize with you all. I am still trying to decide if my anxiety disorders are the result of ETD, my ETD the result of my anxiety disorders, if they are mutually intertwined, and/or if something else is going on. I very much hope to hear from you so that we may begin to develop a cure for ETD so that we may not be hindered by this ruthless malfunction.
Hepatitis C: Post Treatment :: Sofosbuvir+Daclatasvir Treatment Relapse
I'm looking for advice. My 60 year old father (who has had HCV for more than 10 years; previously treated with Interferon but bad side effects) finished his 12 week Sofosbuvir+Daclatasvir (considered same as Harvoni) treatment a month ago. Already first tests after 2 weeks showed virus was Undetected, but yesterday he received his most recent results and he has a relapse of the virus. He is genotype 1, fibroscan result 4 (close to final stage). He is based in Poland and I'm not sure if our doctors are fully informed of the new generation medications and HCV itself.
Is anyone able to give us any advice? We are pretty desperate and my dad is just so depressed as he thought he finally got rid of the virus (he got infected while on an operation in a public hospital) and now it is back...
Are there any specialists that you are aware of I could possibly get in contact with?
Molluscum Contagiosum Treatment :: Acid Treatment - Cryotherapy
A few weeks ago my bf noticed some bumps in his pubic area. He went to the dermatologist and was diagnosed with molluscum contagiosum, which is thankfully not that big of a deal! He got his treated with cryotherapy. Around this time I noticed a few bumps and because of the area they were in, went to an OBGYN for treatment so my bf and I don't keep spreading it to each other. The OB GYN agreed that they were also MC bumps and lightly scraped each one, then applied an acid treatment. That was a few days ago and while the bumps are mostly gone, the skin surrounding each one is dark and almost looks like a scab in color. Is this normal post acid treatment?

View 1 RepliesTinnitus :: 3 Different Ringing Noises
I am 17 now and I have had tinnitus for only about 6 months and I already think I is really annoying!! I'v got about 3 different ringing noises, one (the first) in my right ear, the second is a higher pitched one in the middle area, (I cant tell where that is coming from) and sometimes I get an extremely high pitched loud ringing in my left ear which comes and goes (It's so loud that when it comes I actually turn my head to see where the noise is coming from.)
My problem is that I have no idea how what caused it. I ruled out loud noises because I can't think of a situation where I have been exposed to very loud music.
One day I just woke up with tinnitus. My hearing was reduced for the first few days and then fully returned.
Recently I think it has got worse.
I have seen my GP twice and now I will be seen by an ENT DR. Tinnitus doesn't stop me sleeping, but it is the only thing I can hear at night and that is extremely annoying.
The worst problem I have is that I find it very hard to concentrate when doing schoolwork as this is when I would normally need silence. I find it very difficult to concentrate with noise so tinnitus upsets me quite a lot.
Tinnitus :: Relief With Maskers ?
I am a 65 year old female, I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember but lately it has become unbearable, I don't know why maybe just getting older I cannot cope with it as I used to! I have told doctor before about it and was told to live with it, which I have been doing! I recently went for a hearing test within audiologist and she said I have an age related hearing loss of 25% but not bad enough to need aids! I have bought a masker for one ear which thankfully seems to be helping the one side, but can hear ringing still in other side so have now ordered one for the other ear and hope that this will finally bring me relief and stop me having to get up every morning at 4am as I can't sleep any longer than that with the constant ringing! Anyone else found relief with maskers?

View 1 RepliesPulsatile Tinnitus In My Left Ear
I've had tinnitus in my right ear since I was about 10 or 11, my brother has it too and so it seems genetic, anyways, this has never really bothered me. What's been bothering me is this pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear. I developed this in June last year, at first I had crazy anxiety about it, but eventually I got used to it. It tends to be louder at night, happens when I bend down quickly, and the noise stops when I press on the vein in my neck. I had gone to an ENT in September, did a hearing test, that was fine, and he quickly examined me. He took a look down my throat, up my nose, and in my ear, he couldn't see anything wrong and told me that this happens sometimes and will go away on its own, but if it doesn't within 6 or 9 months (can't remember which) then I should come back.
Well, it's coming up to that time and although the noise doesn't bother me too much anymore it is still there. I also have anxiety in regards to my health and it can be pretty bad, I guess I'm just really worried as to whether or not there could be a serious underlying cause for this.
I'm assuming a scan of some sorts will be done but at the same time I guess I'm scared to get this.
I was wondering if anyone has had this type of tinnitus, and if so was the underlying cause found, did it go away on its own, or is it still being coped with?
Tinnitus :: Along With Arthritis That Keep Getting Worse
Started getting tinnitus about 3 or more years ago and it has fluctuated a lot but constantly been an issue. Sometimes it gets better only to then get worse. I have tried to keep a positive attitude about this and had succeeded for awhile. Then my hands started to hurt from too many video games and about 4 months ago i got what i believe to be rheumatoid arthritis. Haven't seen a doctor yet for either, my insurance is complicated. I know i have tinnitus and also have had sinus pressure and allergies making it worse. I am in pain most days because of tinnitus and pressure in my ears and at least slight if not worse pain from arthritis all the time. It only seems to get worse. I cant exercise as this makes the arthritis worse in my elbows. Here's the kicker, i am only 24 years old and my philosophy towards pain has always been ignore it til it goes away. Mind over matter. Years of ignoring these symptoms have made living my life very difficult. Every time i adapt, the symptoms get worse and honestly both of these things though medically treatable, cannot be cured and honestly i don't think much can be done. Any advice other than see a doctor would be appreciated. I will see a doctor as soon as my insurance has been changed which i am working on now.

Just over 2 months ago, a whooshing sound began in my left ear and it has been there ever since. It is much worse when I'm in a quiet room. I've now seen a consultant who thinks it's related to my pulse rate. He sent me for an MRI scan. I'm now awaiting the results. Has anyone else suffered with this and if so how was it cured, if it ever was?
View 1 RepliesTinnitus And Hearing Loss At 17
i loss my hearing at the age of 17, doctors were shocked because this usually happens to people over 30... they said that the loss was due to stress and sadness but i couldn't figure out what exactly i was stressed about. i lost 98% of my hearing in the left ear and they send me to therapy straight away, i missed a month and a half of my senior year of high school due to this. after the therapy my ear improved drastically and now i can hear 40% and have completely lost 60%. i'm 18 now and there isn't much i can do anymore. i will soon go and get a hearing aid but i still am not so sure about it. i have coped with the loss off hearing but the ringing in my ear makes me go crazy. so my question is, do you recommend a hearing aid? will it stop of perhaps lessen the ringing in my ear?
View 3 RepliesTinnitus :: Being Hit In The Nose In A Soccer Game
I developed tinnitus about 1-2 months after being hit in the nose in a soccer game. It deviated my nose nose, but I didn't think too much of it. Later though I started to get a ringing in mainly my right ear but it was sometimes both sides and felt like it was coming from inside my head. At first I thought it was just headaches from stress.
I had it for about 2 years. Very bad at times. I couldn't sleep properly. Couldn't be in silence. I was very very hard not to be angry. I couldn't control my anger and headaches at times. My 2 young kids and wife had to at the bad times stay clear of me. One of the bad times I got so angry over nothing really significant that I smashed my head into the wall and made a hole in it. Il never forget my 4 year old daughters face, she cried so much. It turned me into an animal.
I saw gp doctors, and the best ent doctors I could get to. I tried all types of things, laser light treatment, always having background noise on (even during sleep). But no one could exactly determine the cause or treatment.
Eventually I had a nose operation to fix the deviation in the nose. I couldn't breath through it hardly at all, and thought it may help the tinnitus. It took a while to get the operation because I had to wait on the public system. But if I knew it would have helped so much I would have paid to get it done privately.
Post operation almost straight away the tinnitus was gone. I can breath better. I sleep with out waking up during the night. Life is good again.
I heard a few others mention that nose spray to clear their nose helped. And that helped me to ounce I figured out the nose could be related to tinnitus. I used 'Dimetapp 12 hour nasal spray'. But it's not good to use too many days in a row apparently.
Tinnitus :: Extremely Loud Ringing In My Right Ear
I am 16 and have had mild tinnitus for years, with an unknown cause and I could only hear it whilst trying to fall asleep. But after going to a concert last night, I woke up this morning with an extremely loud ringing in my right ear. It is loud enough that I am hearing it throughout the day, no matter what I am doing.
I am also experiencing mild pain in my right ear, but not experiencing any hearing loss.
I would just like to know what I should do, how I can cope with this, and if it may go away, or subside mildly.
