I have been on Sertraline 50mg for 6 weeks, I saw my therapist and she asked how I felt, I told her I did not feel any different, she contacted my Dr. and the Dr. upped my dose to 200mg, this has frightened me, a leap from 50mg to 200mg, has anyone had this outcome, and what were the pro's and con's of this sudden higher dose.

Mirtazapine :: Low Dose Of Olanzapine For Insomnia

I'm guessing you've tried the usual suspects, zopiclone, temazepam etc etc

When my insomnia got so bad I couldn't even function any more, my psychiatrist tried me on a low dose of olanzapine. It did help me. It is also a pig to get off though... There are no easy solutions I'm afraid. CBT did help me too, but I had to really work at it.

Anger Management :: Ya'll Should Look Into Low Dose Lithium

(assuming you don't have hypothyroid, some types of heart problems, or seizures, or a few other things)

Very affordable and probably safe in low doses. Also looks like it prevents Alzheimer if you take it early enough. Lots of promising studies about lithium, but also a lot of myth orotate being better than carbonate.

Lithium reduces how fast your brain can use epinephrine, the intense fight or flight chemical, so that you have a limit on how excited you get. Reduces those adrenaline surges you can get when very angry. You will still have the same opinions and think about the same things, but just won't feel the extreme stuff as extreme and won't think about the bad stuff as long throughout the day.

Carbonate might be easier on your kidneys than orotate, based on one rat study from 1979. Orotate might not be eliminated as fast, based on the same study. Orotate is not better in anyway other than being OTC in low doses, despite the online hype by people who know nothing about chemistry.

120mg of lithium orotate has 5mg of lithium.
120mg of lithium carbonate has 20mg of lithium.
Bipolar people take 100-160mg of lithium, as 600-1000mg of lithium carbonate and need blood tests to get the right blood concentration without overdosing.

A low dose of 5mg per day may prevent or postpone Alzheimers if taken early enough. More than that may be needed for an adult with anger problems. I read a report about someone overdosing from 18 orotate pills.

Sertraline :: Dose And Effects Of Alcohol?

After several years of on-off depression and anxiety I finally decided to try medication.

I started on 50mg Sertraline about 8 weeks ago. After a few days of horrible physical side effects I started to feel great. But in the last week I have started to feel not-so-great again. This could be due to a week away where I consumed a fair bit of alcohol and cannabis (after being very sensible since starting the Sertraline).

I'm thinking of asking my doctor to up the dose to 100mg.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced Sertraline "wearing off" after a few months, or being affected by alcohol?

Fluoxetine :: Rough Day 3 After Increased Dose

I'm on day 3 of 40 mg (I did two weeks on 20 first) Day one I was okay but yesterday I felt completely scattered, anxious and couldn't keep it together.  I've just (sort of reluctantly) taken my dose today, day 3.  I've read that the first week of an increase can be rough. Any advice? I've been on lexapro previously for depression and anxiety but my current doctor thinks that I have ocpd (which leads to my dep/anx) so she is trying the fluoxetine. I really really want to be able to function better.

I have been on mirtazapine 30 mg for four years now but it has stopped working for me and so I am coming off it. I cut my dose to 22.5mg ten days ago and feel fine. So am planning to reduce to 15mg in a couple of days time if I still feel fine. Has anyone come off mirt after being on it for a long time and not had any severe problems? Am I going too fast or should I be okay to reduce further if I'm feeling okay?

Hypothyroidism :: Levothyroxine Recommended Dose?

Diagnosed hypothyroid >10 years. I have struggled all of this time to feel 'normal'. Drs have continually increased Levothyroxine to attempt to normalise TSH. Six months ago they prescribed 300mcg. The pharmacist queried this! I take it regularly, without food etc.  I am still symptomatic and free T4 & T3 still low. Anyone else on this dose without effect?

Depression :: Stopping Sertraline Suddenly - On Low Dose Currently

I'd been taking 25mg of Sertraline every day for two years for depression. My doctor and I were planning to try to wean me off this summer. But I moved, and so I found a new doctor. However, this one wanted to keep me on the meds and increased my dose. I've been taking 50mg once a day for about two months. But now the new doctor wants me to switch to Wellbutrin. He says I can stop the Sertraline immediately and switch over because I'm on such a low dose. But I'm wondering if that's a good idea. My original doctor had wanted to wean me off the 25mg, and I've noticed that I get really weepy if I miss a dose accidentally.
