Chest Pain :: Coughing On Deep Breath And Pain
Whenever I take a deep breath i begin to cough. and whenever i cough i have this pain in my chest. i haven't exercised in a while and just started playing tennis again with my friends. this didn't occur until that day but it even continued days after i played. Should i be worried?

History. About 3 months ago I started coughing really bad. Mostly getting out in the cold and talking or laughing triggered it. After 2 visits to the doctor, was told I had adult onset asthma. Went on albuterol inhaler. Within a few days, was coughing green (sorry to be gross, but you get the picture now!) and was very congested. Went back. Now I had asthma, ear infections, sinus infections, bronchitis. Antibiotic, decongestant and antihistamine were prescribed. Next the breathing symptoms got much worse. Short of breath a lot. Went back. Now I received a nebulizer, a new antibiotic and steroid for the severe asthma. Breathing got worse. Now chest x-rays and new antibiotic and new steroid.
Fast forward 3 months. Coughing is better. I'm not on an medications now. But I have this very sharp pain in the left side of my chest, just beneath the breast. While it doesn't hurt to breath, it is VERY painful to cough and sneeze. Turning a certain way or lifting something feels deadly. Also, I cannot lie down flat. Somehow lying down makes this pain so much worse.

Ok so two days ago on august first i had a allergic reaction, this is the first major reaction that I’ve ever had, and oh btw I’m 18 years old (this also may be the only allergic reaction I’ve ever had, because I’m not sure how to tell :s). So this happened right after i ate dinner, i had meat, tomatoes, eggs, rice and cucumbers. Like 10 mins later my stomach starting hurting A LOT so i went to the washroom, as I was in the washroom my face started to itch and got really hot, within minutes there was a bunch of mosquitoes like bites all over my face and some on my upper body. However after i used the washroom they seemed to not be as bad, however I’m not sure if it was because i went to the washroom that got rid of the mosquito like bites or just my natural body because i went to sleep not long after.
The morning of the next day I thought everything was fine, however when i was walking to the bus stop i felt a little weird in my chest if i took a deep breath but i thought it was nothing so i ignored it.
It was my first day actually working after training, so i put in 110% of my effort taking my lunch almost at 3pm (I started at 9 yesterday). by 3pm i kind of felt like there was something in my throat, well like it just felt really weird, but i thought that was because i talked to much (I work as a bank teller) and my lack of water. After i had lunch and water i felt a little better.
By the time i left my work, i felt like i couldn't breathe fully, it felt like something was clogged in my air way. When i got home and drank water, it only made things worse, now my stomach was also hurting and i was no longer able to keep my back straight as it would cause chest pains, however at this point my throat was not hurting yet, it just felt like it was clogged. I sat on a chair for about 20 mins and then I had a few large burps and that seemed to have gotten rid of my stomach pains. I didn't eat much dinner, and went to bed very early.
By the time I was in bed I have extreme throat pains when i shallow anything, it hurts when you touch it (only the front), and it even hurts if i don't touch it, however it didn’t seem to affect my speaking to much. Also my chest was in a lot of pain, especially when i try to stand straight or take deep breaths. (throat is hurting more then my chest)
I drank some Chinese herbal medicine and took a Tylenol.
I was just wondering if someone could tell me if this sounds like just a common flu and if there anything I should do that will help my body feel better faster it would be much appreciated. Thanks

and one more thing, i feel very tired body wise not as much as sleepy but like tired like after a long work out (But this may be due to my lack of eating dinner) and i had a slight and still do have a slight headache
Polymyalgia Rheumatica :: Coughing And Mouth Burns
I am having much coughing and my mouth burns and I have a problem with some kind of reflux. I have had endoscope and they reassured me I have no stomach damage but i'm afraid I may have the reflux in my throat and the preds. have caused an awful flare up. Anybody else have these problem? I don't know about all this as I have not been on preds. long enough to get educated about it.

I've tried everything suggested for the bloating, pain shortness of breath etc and ended up in a&e where I was treated for gastritis. My medication was changed and I felt much better. My throat and chest is now really sore from trying to clear my throat and continual coughing which has kept me awake until 3 and 4 in the morning.
i have been referred back to the gastroenterologist who performed a fundoplication on me six years ago to see how much damage the steroids they say, has caused. This is driving me and everyone else mad what can I do while I am waiting?
Im taking 10mg. pred now and coping a lot better as well as vit D pravastatin, esomeprazole , gaviscon and inhalers. I also eat yogurt with fruit, honey and lemon in water. I was diagnosed November 14 with GCA and PMR and put on 45 mg of pred and both the hospital and my rheumatologist want me to reduce the pred quicker than I want to so I'm still following the programme best for me.
Polymyalgia Rheumatica :: Cure Without Taking Prednisone? Alternatives
This is my first post to medical discussion website. I have PMR and am so, so weary of it. I was put on Prednisone and immediately knew it is not working for me. Oh it took away all my joint pain but I felt I could not breathe. It took one year to taper off of it and it was the hardest thing to do to stay off. I've been steroid free for a bit over 3 months and lost 22 pounds. I still have PMR and when it gets really bad, I take a Duexis (800mg of ibuprofen & 26.6mg of famotidine). I want a cure for this PMR! I do not want to take steroids which for me causes all kinds of trouble. The steroid risk does not outweigh the benefit. Is anyone taking something other than steroids for their PMR?

I am 24yrs old and i am having chest pains when i cough or clear my throat. I do not have a cold. I only had headaches and runny and stuffy nose a few days ago. Yesterday i was out in the cold not that bundled up also. Could this be something i should be worried about and go to the ER? or simply a doctor's visit will do.

I'm 21 and i started having chest pain when i woke up at 4:56am this morning I also had two teeth pulled yesterday. it didn't hurt then but my upper stomach and whole chest hurts when i cough haven't told my parents yet though. though it could be just a chest cold. plus i haven't been eating right lately either.

i have a aunty who has been sick her whole life she is now 43 yrs old. she lives in a third world country and has been to the doctor many times with no right treatment or cause of her sickness.
I would love to bring her to the US and get her treated but i dont have the money to do so. However i would still love to know what is wrong with her why she is always sick maybe by knowing her sickness I could help her.
This is what she describes her symptoms to be
-chest problem-she said she feels like her heart is rotten and she can small it and others can small it too
her chest hurts really bad and it burns too
noise blood-her noise bloods really bad
mouth blood-blood comes through her mouth a lot
she has headache all the time
she is always coughing really bad that her chest hurts.
COPD :: Not Able To Take Deep Breath
i am 25 years old, i have been suffering from breathing difficulty or not able to take deep breath problem.. all day i feel like taking deep breath. but when i try for it.. am not able to take deep breath. during night time i sleep normal.
what could be the reason. anybody pls help.. my Xray CT scan all normal.
could this be psychological problem. doctors trying to say that also. if so. how to recover from this.. it feels like i don't have any life without solving this problem.
Chest Pain :: Shortness Of Breath Back Pain
I've been having a squeezing pain below sternum for 2 weeks it comes and goes and in the middle of my chest to and sharp pains on the sides I get lower back pain and my upper abdomens get really tender and the worst part is my breathing it's been harder to breath lately and I get fluttering in my chest I got 2 kegs and 2 X rays and blood tests I had a little bit of a abnormal rhythm the dr said nothing bad tho I'm worried about heart problems or cardiac arrest but they keep saying its stress and to go talk to my dr for more tests

I'm a 14 year old female and for the past month or so i have been experiencing chest pains, near the top of my chests and beat my ribs, its nothing to unbearable but very discomforting. I have really weird left underarm pain. Almost near my armpit. When i stand up i feel a slight shortness in breath. And i feel some back aches. I'm really scared on what could be wrong. This has happened quite a few times over the years and have been to the doctors but they do not do anything. i don't know if it's allergies or what it is. i am completely asleep, sometimes i dream i am drowning or can't breath, but don't know if that is actually because i can't breath and have this sort of dream or whatever it is. i suddenly wake up, realise i cannot breath no air, totally blocked in my chest that's what it feels like. it feels like i have not breathed in ages. so desperately trying to breath get air in, eventually after several minutes air goes in, but at same time i have started coughing and coughing whilst trying to get air in. then also this happens each time i seem to produced something thick down the back of my throat, its like a river and have to keep swallowing otherwise it will choke me, so choking with this thick stuff (which has no taste and going down the back of my throat), and coughing as its blocking my airway, after a long time it settles down. has anyone got these symptoms? what is it? then i could go to the doctors and say hey this is what someone else has had. It is so frightening each time it happens and it only happens when i am asleep. can some please help with their views or shared experiences, there must be others out there with such a problem.i am 48 year old woman on thyroxine for 9 years for underactive thyroid, take 180mg of telfast allergy tablet a day for urticaria (itchy rash, hives) and take nasal spray twice a day for rhinitis.

Hello I am 22 and I've been suffering from anxiety for about a year! I've been through it all, 5 hospital visits, various doctors, and I still don't believe it's anxiety but I have been proven it is! I've also been on various medications and I had been doing very well until the past month! My husband's brother age 23 passed tragically from a gun accident and my grandpa passed of cancer the next week! Since then I have had chest pain, shortness of breath, pounding heart and just an uneasy feeling! In general I thought that I handled all this very well but my symptoms say otherwise! I guess what I'm asking is can death cause my anxiety to increase even if I didn't notice! The chest pains are what scare me the most but I keep telling myself it's just anxiety because I've had a sonogram some of my heart and he said it's perfectly fine and I have no family history of heart problems and I'm only 22, went to doc yesterday and blood pressure was 124/75! I guess I don't understand how all my medical tests can be perfect but I don't feel perfect! Advice anyone?

I am 56 postmenopausal woman, having these symptoms: extreme fatigue, shortness of breath, chest pain, left side headaches, tingling on left side of face, nausea, hair loss, intense all over pain, bad memory and concentration. The gp did blood work and my iron was 56, the transferring was 307, saturation was at 13%, ferritin was 16. She wasn't concerned until I pushed the issue of feeling so bad and she added 325 of iron tablets everyday. Been taking this 3 weeks now and feel worse. Gp says probably my fibromyalgia and wants me to see a neurologist. I'm at my wits end, I cannot function anymore from the exhaustion, pain and headaches. Any info would greatly be appreciated. I was diagnosed with this condition a few years ago in my left hip. I was given a steroid injection in my thigh and to be truthful, I completely forgot about the pain. I still get niggly pain, but nothing I can't cope with. In January this year, I was diagnosed with it in my right hip and was given a steroid injection in March. It worked for a couple of days, but after that, the pain is worse than before. I am due a follow up in September. Painkillers don't seem to help at all. Any other sufferers out there?

How is it that most of you say walking helps you get rid of the pain? If I walk for 20-30 mins I have pain which takes ages to clear up - sometimes into the next day, or even the day after (and it has since the PMR started). Exercise is good for you! OK, I know that, but what do you do if you get more and more pain by doing it?
