ENT :: Loud Clicking Sound In My Ears Clicking On Swallowing

Everytime I swallow or clench my throat I hear a loud clicking Sound in my ears. A few months ago I had 2 inner ear Infections.

Is the sound from the Eustachian tubes and is it a form of eustachian tube dysfunction?

GERD (acid Reflux) :: Larynx Swelling Constant Throat Clearing

Although my throat spasms have now stopped I have started to have problems with my larynx.

Mucous seems to be trapped underneath it and collects at night. I wake up with a swollen larynx but no pain. Now my lymph nodes in my neck and the back of my head have swelled.

I also wake up every morning feeling unrefreshed, groggy and depressed.

I am still unable to swallow food.

Surely this can't be GERD?

Allergies :: Swollen Glands In Neck, Swollen Larynx

I've had swollen glands in my neck, a swollen larynx, and hoarseness for the past few days. The outside of my throat is also sore to touch and gets red. The inside of my throat is fine and it doesn't hurt to swallow. No fever, nothing else. When it rains it gets worse. It sometimes goes away after the rain. In the past I had it and it stayed for over two years straight! The ENT could find no reason for it. Is this allergy-related? Has anyone else had this? If so is there anything that can be done? Nothing I do seems to help. I take 20mg reactine that is supposed to last 24 hours, avamys a corticosteroid nasal spray for allergies. I also take symbicort, ventolin, and singulair for asthma.

Clicking In Throat / Lump ?

Tonight I started to feel something weird in my throat. I don't really know how to describe it, but I feel something in my throat, like something's there or stuck when I swallow, but there's nothing there. It doesn't hurt, my throat doesn't feel strange at all, and my breathing is fine, but it's just unsettling because I have really bad anxiety and every time anything happens with my throat, I get really anxious and scared, which leads me to have an anxiety attack, so I've been looking online for some answers, but so far I haven't found much.

I have been sick for the past week and I've been coughing a lot (I almost lost my voice), so maybe I've hurt my throat or something? I don't really feel it when I'm drinking something, but it does feel a little more rough to swallow than usual, even with my cold.

Penis :: Clicking Sound When I Cum

I have noticed it before. It usually happens when I have watched porn or something that makes me have a big load.

Just as I have the first ejaculation, there is a discomforting pop in my stomach, just above the penis, like 3cm above and 3cm to the left of my shaft.

Is this normal? Where could the sound originate from?

ENT :: Muffled Hearing And Clicking In One Ear

I am frustrated and hope someone can help. I am a male in my early 50's and I am very healthy. I have never had any problems with my hearing but now my right ear is clogged and there is a clicking sound when swallowing, drinking, etc. This is a result of head trauma.

In late June 2013, 9 months ago, I did something very stupid and have regretted it ever since. I was using a Hi Lift jack, that is normally used for 4x4 trucks, etc., to jack a trailer up. I was stupid and leaned over the jack to look at something on the trailer. The leaning over meant I leaned between the jack handle and the lifting part of the jack, and I was not holding the handle. Just at that exact moment the handle sprung free and slammed back up right, hitting me squarely on the left side of my head. I wanted to pass out but did not. However, it hurt like heck and for the next 12 - 24 hours I could barely talk and eating was out of the question. My jaw and head hurt so bad. And, after this I noticed my right ear was plugged and clicked when swallowing, drinking, and so on.

I thought it would eventually go away as I was sure I had some swelling, etc from the jack handle hitting me but it has not. I finally went to my family doctor and he diagnosed me with TMJ and sent me to a doctor specializing in craniofacial issues and TMJ. He said my right side of my face hurting more than the left side that actually took the brunt of the jack handle force was correct because everything got shoved to the right. I started wearing a lower mouth piece in early Dec 2013, approx. 5 months after the injury. He stated my jaw was dislocated slightly and the mouth piece should eventually fix it and end the muffled sound and clicking. Well, here it is almost 4 months later and there has been zero change. He did add a water filled additional support for me to wear at night to see if lifting the mouthpiece higher will help. I believe the idea is for the jaw to be able to relax to allow any residual swelling to decrease without any tension on the jaw and muscles.

I was thinking if the mouth piece was to gradually reposition my jaw then perhaps I was out of alignment in that area and the chiropractor I had seen years ago could help. He could not find anything wrong and suggested I find a person who specializes in craniosacral massage therapy. I was unsure what that was exactly and after reading about it decided I would pass on it given it's reputation. I then thought that perhaps an ENT might be able to figure this out so I scheduled an appointment with one.

I saw him 3 days ago and he could not see anything wrong although he did think my right ear was interesting because he said the ear drum was not firmly attached to the bone, but that it was not a problem. He did refer me to a different office to a different ENT for a hearing test and a Eustachian tube function test and I had that done today.

The Eustachian tube function test showed that everything was fine and functioning properly.

The hearing test was fine and did not show any loss of hearing. What I did find interesting myself was that the test administrator's voice was louder I my muffled right ear although she said she had not changed the volume at all from when she was speaking into my left ear. Weird...muffled side was louder.

I go into another room and this different ENT doctor looked in my ears, throat, and nose, and said there was nothing wrong with me. I was asked if I had allergies of which I replied minimal issues since her colleague had done my septoplasty 6 - 7 years ago. In fact, most people I know are suffering with allergies the past few weeks and I had my biggest issues 5 days ago. I took two of those little red sudafed pills and 400 mg Ibuprofen and that took care of my allergy issue. This ENT prescribed me a steroid nose spray (nasonex?) spray and I was instructed to spray it straight back in my nose into the eustachian tube area and not straight up the nose like normal nose sprays.

This ENT doctor did not see anything interesting with the eardrum not being firmly attached to the bone, meaning she thought it was attached completely. So, there is a difference of opinion between ENT doctors. One sees something interesting, one does not.

This is so frustrating because there is something wrong with my right ear. When I plug my nose and blow like you do when you want to pop & clear your ears my left ear clears like normal but the right ear does not. It is plugged, it is muffled, and it clicks. There is no pain, and no discomfort, but it is irritating because it is not right. It should clear.

What is gong on with normal hearing, normal eustachian tube function, two ENTs look into my ear and do not see any infection, do not see any wax build up, nothing. They say everything is fine, even though it is not. They know of the injury to my head but cannot find anything wrong.

Another thing I did was back in December I was take 800mg of Ibuprofen twice per day, for a total of 1,600 mg, for probably two solid weeks, and that was after 2 days of taking hydrocodone. This was a result of a doctor doing an outpatient procedure on me, wait, did I say doctor? That is another story for another day but what I am getting at is since Ibuprofen helps with swelling I would have thought any swelling any place in my body would have been taken care with that high a dose for so long. But, there was no change in the muffled and clogged and clicking noise issue in my right ear.

Cardiovascular :: POTS With Clicking Sound

I sometimes have pounding heart along with POTS symptoms. I am diagnosed with POTS. Other findings are very low exercise threshold, multiple atrial couplets and low blood gas oxygen levels. Doctors aren't concerned, but they should be I think.

Just today I had pounding heart with loud clicking sound. This has happened before and you can very clearly hear the clicks along with the pulse. Doctor doesn't believe me, as there is no murmur usually.

I have mental illness and therefore I am not believed. I am 33 years ol male, and have intolerance to neuroleptics, which has caused heart problems.

Has anyone experienced these sounds themselves or know what they are. Nurse mentioned valve's making a sound sometimes.

What Causes The Clicking Sound In Your Ears When You Swallow?

Although my problem has been diagnosed as muscular, I have been doing PT for almost two months and the clicking sound when I swallow just doesn't go away (neither does the tinnitus).

I understand why the tinnitus is happening (the ligament to the inner ear is stretched), but I don't understand the clicking sound at all. Can someone explain it to me?

Temporomandibular Joint :: TMJ Without Pain/clicking?

I suspect from my symptoms that I could be suffering from TMJ. I had to have two of my upper back teeth removed this year and also one wisdom tooth which I am sure is affecting my bite.

I spoke to the surgeon about my symptoms and he said that it could be TMD and that I would probably need to have a splint made. I am currently waiting to go back to my regular dentist for a new x ray and to follow this up.

The sensation I experience I would not describe as painful... annoying/uncomfortable absolutely!

It feels as though the left side of my jaw is in a constant spasm or as though something is pulling it back (hard to describe) I can open my mouth without any problems and there is no clicking.

I sometimes wake up and it is fine but then throughout the day it starts to come back. I notice this mostly when I sit down on my computer or lay my head back on something. It also goes away for a couple of days but then it comes back.

I do not think it is a tooth problem as I have had regular check ups this year and any problems I had have now been dealt with and now I just need to get implants made for the missing teeth when the gum is healed.

I wondered if anyone with a bit more experience thinks this is a TMJ problem or could it be something else like a nerve problem? Most symptom checkers describe TMJ as painful or with clicking noise from the jaw, which I am not experiencing. Hence the confusion!

Temporomandibular Joint :: Clicking Ears!!

I have had clicking in my ears for over two weeks now, whenever I talk or finish a sentence, or if I make a certain manoeuvre with my nose/palate/mouth, not quite sure, but I don't have to open my mouth in order to make the clicks.

It started off in my right ear but is now in both and is so loud I have become so anxious and depressed and don't want to talk to anybody.

The clicks are audible externally, and if I cry and become congested I get slight relief and also if I tilt my head forward or lay my head in certain positions.

I went to the doctors yesterday who instantly diagnosed me with TMJ. I'm not sure whether to believe this, as the clicks aren't there when I open and close my jaw and why does it temporarily ease off when I am congested?

Tinnitus :: Weird Clicking Noise In Ear

I'm 23 and I've always had tinnitus in both ears but worse in my right. For about the last year I sometimes get this random light clicking noise in my right ear which sometimes happens once, twice or 10 times in very quick succession but then will just stop. It might not happen for a day or too and will suddenly come back again. There seems to be no pattern but happens more at work but might occur once or twice a day. The best way to describe it is a bit like a computer mouse clicking but a lot higher. I have no ear pain, blood or trouble hearing and any other symptoms. What is this? Can I cure it? Should I worry?
