Topiramate :: Can You Have Alcohol With It?

I've been on Topiramate for 3 years, can anyone tell me the reason you can't drink alcohol whilst taking it.

I did it once, I had half a glass of wine and it was like I'd had a bottle of vodka! I was violently sick and was ill for 3 days. Never again. I want to know what's in it that stops you from being able to drink.

Would be nice once in awhile to have a glass of wine!

Topiramate :: Abnormal Mesntrual Cycle - Irregular Periods Taking Topamax

Has anybody had abnormal menstrual cycle while taking topiramate (topamax) I am very worried that there may be something else wrong with me. Sorry to be graphic but I've had a very lightened flow, with dark brown blood and the beginning and the end. I read somewhere that depression can do this to your period and as depression is one of the side effects of this drug is it possible that this is a casual link? Or does this sound more like implantation spotting to you? I haven't had unprotected sex and my period was on time just with these strange goings on. Please help. I have been taking topiramate for around 6 weeks for my migraines but reducing the dose because it isn't working for me.

Uterine Fibroids :: Esmya Prescribed?

My consultant has prescribed Esmya today and I had to give the prescription to my GP so waiting to see if she agrees it tomorrow.  In fact I am sure she will but has anyone had issues with their GP not agreeing?

Also I noticed that most of the women in this forum are taking Esmya in preparation for a hysterectomy.  Is there anyone else like me who does not want a hysterectomy and is just taking Esmya to shrink fibroids only?  Well I am sure my GP will agree to process the prescription.

Substance Abuse :: Methadone Addiction - Prescribed For Someone Else

My boyfriend of 9 months who is an accident victim was prescribed Methadone and Opana just got out of rehab himself, but around Thanksgiving, I broke my finger and he was giving me his doses of Methadone... It's now June and I'm still on it. Only him and I know I'm on it, I refuse to tell my doctors or anyone because I'm also a Celiac and Fibromyalgia patient and I don't want to ruin my chances for getting help. I am down to taking a quarter of a tablet a day. I never really took that much to begin with. Most I took was 2 tablets a day so I wouldn't say I have it as bad as anyone else at all. I need to ween down by myself. I flushed all of his medications but I kept only three tablets that gives me 12 quarter pills to wean. I took a quarter this morning, what do you all suggest I should do with the other 11? You thing I should go with another quarter tomorrow and then cut the quarters in half by taking one of those slivers in the morning and a sliver at night? And then narrowing it down to just a sliver and then jump off? What are some supplements that have helped you? I'm allergic to anxiety medications so that's been my downfall. I am so ashamed of myself and guilty. This isn't like me at all since everyone in my family has some sort of addiction.

Neurology :: Lump Above My Collarbone, What Could It Be?

I'm a 15 yr old girl and I have found 2 lumps on my neck about 2 inches above my collarbone on my right side about a week ago. They are painless and immovable, and they have grown in size slightly since i noticed them. One is about 1cm in diameter and the other is about 2.5cm in diameter. I also have a long lasting headache, dizzy spells, slight chest tightness (worse when lying down), itchiness of my upper back, quickly losing weight (5kg this week) and extreme fatigue. What could this be? Should I be worried?

Menopause :: Migraine Headaches And Pressure Headaches

I've been having migraine headaches, pressure headaches, dizziness and nausea. I kept chalking it all up to menopause. Because as most of you know, so many of these symptoms are menopause.

Last Friday, Jan 2nd at around 7:30PM my boyfriend and I were leaving a restaurant, suddenly I started getting shocks in my right leg like my leg was falling asleep, while I was walking to the car. This shocking feeling quickly radiated up my arm and into my head, all on the right side. My boyfriend quickly started toward the hospital. On the way I lost the ability to formulate sentences and words. I would say one sentence and a totally different sentence would come out. I would try to say one word and a totally different word came out. Being a former medic the only word I wanted to relay was "stroke". It felt like someone had tasted my right side. It was the most frightening thing I'd ever experienced and I was awake for the entire ride. After getting to the hospital I was in the ER for about 3 hours. Then sent to Neurology/Stroke ward. For the next few days I had a battery of MRI's, EEG, EKG's, CT Scans, Blood Work, Ultrasounds and a Spinal (Lumbar Punch). Within 6 or so hours I was able to formulate sentences and say words again. I forced myself the entire time. My right side started getting feeling back within a few days. I still have some numbness in my right hand and am experiencing peripheral neuropathy symptoms in my right leg and foot.

The neurologist found a mass in my brain. Thanks be to God that it is benign. I just found out yesterday that I am cancer free. However, they still don't know what the mass is. It could be a tumor or a jelly bean I stuffed in my nose as a child. (joking) But we won't know for a while.Also it might be inoperable too. I will be seeing the Dr on the 13th for an MRI Rx. In a month we'll do the MRI and see what has happened with this mass. Is the edema gone, has it shrunk or grown? Things like that.
