Pain After Kidney Stones And Stent
I had my first kidney stone in February of this year. I had lithotripsy twice on my right side and also a stent. The stent was removed after three days. I have had a constant stabbing pain where the stent once was. I have seen many different doctors and been to the ER several times. Each CT scan has come back negative for more stones and doctors cannot find a reason I am still in pain. Anyone have the same problem?
View 1 RepliesKidney Stones - Still After Stent?
About a year ago, I had a kidney stone, and stent put in. I thought the stent would help me pass the stone. The Dr. said that wouldn't happen, removed the stent 6 weeks later, saying he thinks I still have it. To my knowledge I have not passed a stone, people say if I did I would feel it. I am now having pain, like a kidney infection, am a little worried it could be this stone. The Dr. said it would make me really sick if I don't pass it. It does hurt on the left, where the stone was located, but not like before. I don't have insurance and can't afford another ultrasound. has anyone passed a stone with stent in place? I think I passed it when I had the stent and just have an infection.
View 1 RepliesKidney Stones And Parathyroid - Stent - How Long?
I was diagnosed with kidney stones and parathyroid disease in March 2010 whilst being in hospital as a result of high calcium levels (3.7 mmol/L) and significant pains in the back. A stent was inserted in order to help the kidneys and I went through a number of tests (Mibi scan, ultrasound, DEXA among others) for identifying the gland(s) that were overproducing the hormone for calcium (201 serum PHT). While I was told that the stent should not remain longer than two months and that I should have the stones removed as soon as possible, I have not been scheduled yet for the removal (ureteroscope). During the last month, the stent has become very uncomfortable, I cannot walk for more than 10 minutes and I feel very tired. I went to the A&E but I was offered only muscle relaxants and painkillers and I have not seen any improvement as a result of these. Simultaneously, I am waiting for the arrangement of the removal of the parathyroid gland.
Is there anyone with similar experience? Is it normal to have that long the stent and have these symptoms? And is there anyone that has gone through a removal of parathyroid glands? Any information would be most helpful.
Kidney Stones :: Stent And Lithotripsy Isn't Working
Dec 29 emergency room found 2 stones 7 & 8 in size. Put in stint, went to urologist 2 weeks later and 2 weeks after that had Lithotripsy, turned 2 stones into 5 that were at the bottom of my kidney. 3 weeks later had Ureteroscopy urologist said this would get rid of stones. Went in today to have stint removed. Blah, still have several stones. I am beside myself and quickly loosing confidence in my urologist. He told me to stand on my head numerous times a day in hopes that the kidney stones will float to the top and out (I am 60 by the way). Standing on my head is going to be a feat. Said come by in 2 weeks and we will explore options to remove the stones again...
View 1 RepliesPain While Stones Still In Kidney?
Is it possible to have kidney stone pain while the stones are still in the kidney? I have about seven stones in my right kidney and five in my left... I've had lower back pain for almost a month straight and nothing makes the pain go away. I'm trying to get my urologist to call me back, but that is next to impossible if I'm not in the emergency room doubled over in pain. Any suggestions/comments are welcome here

View 1 RepliesPossible Kidney Stones? Pain Below Bottom Bra Strap
I am extremely frustrated. I have been sick since Aug 27 with extreme back pain. The pain is right below the bottom of my bra strap on the right side (slightly above where the I thought the kidneys are located). I am also having pain in the right side and rt groin area. The Dr's say that I have a lot of blood and crystals in my urine, but the CT scans don't show any kidney stones. The CT scan did show that the right kidney was swollen and the ER DR said that either the urethra or ureter (can't remember which) was swollen and enlarged as if I had passed a stone. I had an appointment with a urologist last week, and even before introducing himself, he told me it wasn't a kidney stone and referred me to an Ortho DR. He didn't examine me at all - did not touch me. He did suggest that I have cystscope, but said it would not help my back pain. Therefore, I didn't do it. I am usually a very tough girl. When I gave birth to my son several years ago, I didn't utter a single complaint (natural childbirth). But several times over that past few weeks, I have found myself in tears because the pain is so bad. I have had everything checked - gall bladder, liver, pancreas, spleen .....everything. What is a girl to do? I don't normally take any pain meds or narcotics. I am usually extremely healthy.

I'm not sure where to put this and I'm fairly certain I do not have enough space for all of this. But I will try anyways.
I am 27 years old and male. And my life right now is not great. I have a long list of medical problems most of which have gone untreated for years and are all more or less working together to ruin my life. Since I do not have the appropriate length here to explain all of this a simple list will have to do for now.
Current Issues:
Chronic Pain left and right flank
Chronic Nausea (will result in vomiting)
ADHD (untreated)
Anxiety (Untreated)
Depression (untreated)
Sleeping problems
Eating/Weight problems
Chronic Kidney stones
UPJ obstruction and Hydronephrosis of the Left Kidney (3 surgeries to repair)
What I NEED help with is Identifying what I need to do to make this better. I have been seeing doctors for the past 23 years of my Life. I honestly need A LOT more space to explain all of this.
Pain After Blasted Kidney Stones Procedure
I'm 22 and got my kidney stone blasted two days ago (10-2-13) and I was wondering if anyone else has had this procedure? I am in a world of pain. and I was just curious how long I can expect this pain to last. My urologist said the stone was at the opening of my kidney and it was about 6mm. They blasted it and put in a stent. I feel like I have been beaten with a baseball bat. I was just curious if anyone else has felt this pain and how long I should be expecting this to last.
View 1 RepliesSudden Pain In My Penis - Kidney Stones?
I felt the need to join after something that happened yesterday and it's left me in a state of panic. I am currently 17 years old and while showering felt an intensely sharp pain on the tip of my penis. I couldn't explain what it was and then urinated after my shower but felt like something is blocking it as I couldn't pass urine like I normally could. The next morning (today) I woke up and touched my penis to see if the pain was still there but it wasn't and I could pass urine normally again. It isn't until now when I tried to examine my penis further that I felt like I pushed something to the end of my penis and touched it when extreme pain came back again. My mother and sister both suffer from kidney stones and I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow but came on here to see what you guys thought.
View 1 RepliesKidney Stones :: Pain Inside - Ball Valving
I have been passing stones regularly for the past 3-4 years, I've had multiple scans (ultrasound and CT scans), seen a nephrologist and urologist, I've had the surgery to have 11 removed from both my kidneys with stents. The urologist left 4 in due to them being too small to grab. This was 2 months ago and since then the 0.1 cm stones have grown, I have passed one 2 weeks ago and was told that the other three are still in my kidneys and should not bother me, fine, accept I've been in severe pain to the point it's brought me to my knees. My urologist sent me to have 2 ultrasounds in the last 3 weeks and a ct scan. The ultrasounds (two different us techs from two different times) both said I had a 5x4mm in my left and a 6x8mm in my right but the CT scan said that I have a 3mm in my right and a 2mm in my left? Not sure what to believe all I know is that they are non obstructive but my kidneys are hurting so bad, could the ct scan be wrong? I also have what's called phlebotomist in my pelvis which mimics a kidney stone but no other test showed that. What's really going on?! I've heard of a thing called "ball valving" could this be what's causing the pain and if so ALL doctors have told me that if they are in your kidney you can't feel them! So frustrated PLEASE HELP!!!
