Hemorrhoids Pain Or Fissure? Severe Pain
So this is an embarrassing topic to touch on. But due to my amount of pain and the lack of clinics open due to tomorrow being new years day. I will turn here for support.
Yesterday, I woke up with severe rectal pain. Today it has gotten worse. It burns, aches and is unbearable to sit, walk, or move in any way.
I just recently had my first look at it and I do have a tender lump on the outside. The pain spreads to the inside but most of the pain seems to be coming from that one tender lump. I cannot stand the pain. My only relief is a hot bath, which sucks to get back out of and Vicodin or tramadol which I have had left over since my kidney stone attacks but that's another topic.
The lump is not discolored or anything, it just severely hurts to touch and I have tried everything I have seen on the internet to provide no relief.
Preparation H, no relief.. Also have been alternating between Ice, heat and hot baths with epsom salt. Also have been using triple antibiotic cream, witch hazel and coconut oil..
I am really hoping this doesn't turn into an emergency room visit.
I just don't know if it is a hemorrhoid or a fissure or what the difference is between the two or how to even treat this issue and earn some relief.

View 2 RepliesFrozen Shoulder :: Excruciating Pain And Can't Sleep
I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder yesterday and although had heard of it before but didn't really know what it was. Since researching internet and reading this forum am amazed and scared to find that it could go on for years. I am a 60 yr old woman live alone and work 4 dys a wk I'm now terrified of not being able to continue work, or manage at home., I use a keyboard all day and It came from nowhere I woke up early last mon am and couldn't move my left (non dominant) arm was also in a lot of pain my 1st thought was that I had had a stroke as it felt heavy numb (bit like when you've leaned on it and its gone numb and just coming back to life )and hurt from shoulder to finger tips. I have been to work all week and have had to grit my teeth and soldier on until I got docs app last night he tested my arm by moving it about and diagnosed frozen shoulder told me to take painkillers and put in sling for couple of weeks when I said I wasn't happy with that he offered to give me steroid injection and did so there and then said it would hurt more initially but by time i go back to work on tuesday should be lot better. I cannot reach forward neither can I lift my arm out to the side or up or back more than about 6" in each direction. The weirdest thing about is how it happened so suddenly I did ask Dr if it could be connected to a tooth infection I've just had but he said 'No' The reason I asked this as last year I had a root canal treatment and a crown was fitted all was well until couple of months ago when got toothache on that tooth was told it was an infection and given antibiotics he said if it re-occurred I'd have to have it extracted all was fine until 3 weeks ago when i got severe toothache again and was given antibiotics and made app for 2 wks later to have it extracted it cleared up only to return 4 days later was in excruciating pain from tooth got more antibiotics wanted to smash my head off the wall couldn't sleep eat or function properly my face ear neck shoulder everywhere hurt dentist said it couldn't be that bad as had no nerve there wouldn't take it out earlier than my due app although i went to surgery in tears and begged him, when it was finally taken out he apologised and said that I had a severe infection under the crown. I finished the antibiotics and neck and shoulder and face still hurt and four days later woke up with 'frozen shoulder' I can't help but think this is somehow connected having read a couple of other posts about teeth infections. Has anyone else had similiar experience? I feel sure there is some connection. What I do know is the pain is excruciating and it's odd that I cannot lie on my right side my normal sleeping side as pain in shoulder/arm is overwhelming but can sleep in snatches leaning on my left side which is the bad shoulder and it is nowhere near as painful.
View 1 RepliesExcruciating Pain In Testicles When Sneeze Or Cough
A week ago, i was playing soccer for about an hour. Seconds afterwards, I felt an uncomfortable feeling in my testicles. The next day was the same uncomfortable feeling. The pain wasn't too bad until exactly 6 days later when i woke up in bed and found that the pain was beyond what i could handle. Out of 10 i would describe this pain as a solid 8 and half. Anytime i stand up or sit down it feels like i've just been kicked there.Everytime i cough and sneeze the pain is excrutiatingly bad in my testacles and just above them in my groin. anytime i tense my core (abdomen) i get the same feeling of being kicked in the balls. I have searched google and what makes most sense so far is the theory of the testicular muscles extending up towards the stomach or abdomen being too short. Please if anyone knows anything of how this can be treated, let me know.

I was using my gripper to help get my jogging bottoms off my operated leg being very careful not to exceed the 90deg rule. Suddenly, the most excruciating pain started inside my thigh (not wound) and groin. It was so bad it brought me to tears. Luckily the children were upstairs and they managed to get me flat in bed. I had something similar to this yesterday when I tried to move the pillow between my legs with the operated leg. The pain has subsided but I still have a dull ache inside my leg and a little discomfort at the site of hip bone.

Let's start with more information. I am a 17 year old male (5 foot and 5 inches tall). I've had many health issues in the past including Bile Reflex (at least I think that was the case). I am 81 pounds overweight. However, I do not eat much but I doubt I have a healthy diet. Honestly, I rarely exercise either. I am a computer coder. Therefore, I don't do many things physically and spend a lot of time on the computer. However, I do plan on exercising in the future hoping it will reduce my health issues.
Now, let's get to the main subject. Whenever I go to the bathroom (passing a stool), I experience major pain. In the past, it used to rarely occur (only if I was passing a very large stool), but now it's every time I pass a stool. I've tried stool softener which did slightly reduce the pain. However, it was still extremely painful. Currently, I have no more stool softener pills left and the pain has worsen. It has been an hour and a half since I last pasted a stool and I am still experiencing a bit of pain whenever I sit down. The other symptoms also occur (bloody stool, itching, etc).
This to me sounds very severe and I will admit, I rarely visit the doctor. The last visit was when I was trying to diagnose another type of condition I kept having in episodes (I think it was Bile Reflux). I visit the doctor probably once a year at the most. However, with the amount of health issues I am experiencing, I should start visiting the doctor much more often.
Overall, I was wondering what you thought about this. I am still trying to figure out if this is Hemorrhoids or Anal Fissure (I surely hope it isn't Colon Cancer). I also think I am very young to be experiencing these type of issues. I do realize my best bet would be to ask a doctor. However, the power of the Internet can be very useful.
Men's Health :: Dull Pain In Left Testicle
Yesterday, I noticed that my left testicle felt sore or had a dull ache. Kinda the feeling after getting hit in the balls. I am 19 years old and not sexually active. It does not hurt to ejaculate or urinate. The pain feels like its in the epididymis on the left side and only there. There is a less intense, sharp pain when I touch and move that area. I just started icing it for a minute or two every so often but it feels like it got more sensitive.

I am 20 year old male. Not sexually active. OK for 4 hours now I have been experiencing a weird dull ache/pain/discomfort on the left side of my left testicle, and also slight discomfort in lower abdomen. The discomfort on the testicles is ONLY on the left side of my left testicle.
For the past hour I have been going crazy looking over all the possible problems that might be. However all these problems seem to have some kind of physical symptom. I checked my balls and I couldn't find anything wrong on the outside.

Polymyalgia Rheumatica And GCA :: Dull Pain An Inch Above Eyes
I am presently on 7mg, and worry if GCA is starting: the dull pain I get is not at the sides of my eyes but about an inch above and slightly back. I do not have other indicators, such as jaw pain or sore head to touch, and am unsure whether all symptoms are likely to be present or only one. My GP seems to think I am OK- any advice as to whether the temple pain in GCA is by the sides of one's glasses or an inch or two above this?
Men Issues :: Dull Ache Pain Above Left Testicle
I'm 18 And do lots of sports. 2 weeks ago I did a lunge in a game of football and soon after got a burning sensation in my left testicle that lasted for a maximum of 2 minutes and was not bad enough to warrant me going off the pitch. After this the pain subsided for a couple days. However over the past 4 days I have noticed a dull ache pain in the upper region of my left ball-sack (on the outer side). The testicle looks the same size and color and urine/semen is the same as usual.
Does anyone have any ideas? I have sorta ruled out testicular tension (or whatever the twisted testis is called) but only because it doesn't look enlarged or shrunk.
Men Issues :: Dull Uncomfortable Ache/pain In Right Testicle
*Urgent* Dull uncomfortable ache/pain in Right Testicle (slightly higher than left and feels somewhat strained)
Pain is worse when exercise is induced, simultaneous pain in right testicle and right oblique/ab with exercise/twisting/lifting.
HELP! Long read, apologise in advance for spelling, grammatical errors.
Hi, my name is Aaron, I am a 19 year old male with a slightly higher/strained/retracted right testicle which is very very uncomfortable. It has affected my life physically, emotionally mentally and tested relationships with people in my life, it is a very frustrating injury which has gone on too long for a 19 year old. I got this injury in 2010 when i was just 15 years old. I have been playing competitive sports since i was around 8-9, soccer bust mostly basketball. I played for state teams in basketball at a high level for about 4 years and was very fit and active. I could run freely with no pain at all. In highschool in the first half of 2010 I started playing AFL which is footy but involves a lot of kicking (i wasn't used to all the kicking and overloading the right side of my body's muscles) i only played a for a few months while playing state basketball. This injury came out of n where after a basketball game when i got home. I took off my ankle guards and pants ready to have a shower but as i twisted my body slightly to take of the ankle guards i immediately experienced sharp pains simultaneously in my right oblique-abs and right testicle. At that time i felt the testicle rise up slightly giving me a very unpleasant feeling and sensation (numb/dull/dead) i experience to this day. I got it checked out thinking i had cancer being the young lad i was at the time. Dr said i had epididymitis on the right testicle and was given anti-inflammatory tablets for about 1-2 weeks. i had hot and cold bathes whilst taking the tablets thinking it was some sort of strain, thinking it would go away in a few days, boy was i wrong. its been over 4 years and i have seen over 10 specialists and doctors and it has definitely taken its toll on me, earlier this year 2014, i also saw another urologist who said everything seemed fine, there was no testicular torsion or kidney stone or hydrocele or anything wrong with the testicle anatomically and functionally. everything seemed okay, but it didn't make sense with the pain i am experiencing, it still felt numb, weird, and just uncomfortable as if its strained or something (hard to explain) i felt like a dickhead when he said i was fine, as if i was some liar.. it was basically another just another kick to the balls... over the 4 years i have had countless appointments with physios which only seemed to make the pain worse when i did their exercises. (this pain can be greater when exercise is induced) i physically can not run at all without the pain in my testicle and gut/oblique. but yea i have had many MRI's, xrays, ultrasounds and they didn't pick up much until this year when i went down to Sydney - Australia ( i live in townsville north queensland AUS) to see DR john Garvey who is a general diagnostic surgeon of the groin, best in his field.i saw him and got more scans down there and they picked up on a lot of musculoskeletal problems. i had a large tear in the conjoint tendon, 6 stitches were needed usually they put in 4, but the tear was that big, also i had deterioration in one of the tendons in my hip or something which was pain i started experiencing early this year. also something with the adductor and he took out the ilioinguinal nerve i believe. unfortunately my memory is foggy as i haven't got a copy of the report. but yea i was issued to get a quadruple groin reconstruction. so i got that and its been a few weeks now, maybe 4-5 weeks now, and i'm still experiencing the same testicle pain i have had all these years which is very depressing. so i don't really know what to do at all... i'm only 19 and i'm studying sport exercise science, trying to get into physiotherapy to learn about my injury but my knowledge is just too novice to treat something not even the best doctors in the world can't figure out.. the only time i experience any relief is massage on my back, glute, oblique abs, right adductor, hammies and hip flexor stretches, i have very tight muscles from all the sport and kicking for AFL. however this relief is close to nothing, the only time i experienced full relief where my testicle literally drooped back down to its original position and relaxed was around 2011 where i had acupuncture on the right side of my body, oblique psoas trigger point areas, it was like a breath of fresh air and i felt a million bucks, for some reason the acupuncture helped my uncomfortable pain but only lasted till the car ride home. where it then shot up again and went back to the uncomfortable position and since then i haven't experienced that relief. i still see that acupuncturist from time to time but i haven't had the same relief, i see him again this wednesday and hope to get ome needles in the oblique area which is tight. but yes these are all just theories, i think i have a tight deep muscle affecting a nerve (possibly one that innervates the scrotum /cremasteric muscle) that's why the needles worked cos they got deeper, i assume... but yes when i rub the inside of my right leg down to my knee my testicle retracts/jumps up and is just very sensitive as well. so yea thats about it, i cant do anything, its very frustrating and debilitating, was 85kgs at the time now i weigh 110kgs due to inactivity. but yea thank you for taking the time out to read this, i sound like a bit of a whinger/complainer but really i'm just a frustrated 19 year old who wants to play competitive sport again and fix this injury so i can focus on that and my career, but until then i'm going around in circles and its been very tough..
Men Issues :: On And Off Dull Pain In Left Testis (10 Months)
I am 26 year old IT professional, I have been facing a dull ache/pain in my left testis while sitting for a long time or sometimes while riding a bike. when i try to touch it then it hurts but only sometimes, I feel good after taking bath. Also i feel pain mostly when the testes are in expanded state, the pain is there now for more than 10 months and its on and off Its really strange because some days I have little to no discomfort and other days I will get a dull ache and discomfort around my groin/left leg area..
I have shown it to 5 different urology doctors but they all say its an "infection" or "cysts" or "epididymitis",
I had doppler ultrasound Twice and both times doctor said its a cyst..and given me doxy-1 or niftran 100 mg or urifast etc
I had urine test twice, everything was normal
I had ultrasound of kidney KUB, its fine.
I had taken tests for cancer- Alfafetoproteina, HCG and one more i don't remember the name... Reports are normal.
I wear sports supporter sometimes when i feel that my testes are in expanded state for long and i feel pain.
I have taken so much of medicine now and have been diagnosed with everything that i feel frustrated and helpless. I wonder in 21st century we dont have the answer for these kind of problems, My tension increases when i search on net about my problem and find there are other men who have the same problem and they are not getting any certain answer about it.
If anybody of you have the same problem or went through similar situation then please let me know. Please share what you did or have been doing to prevent this?

View 2 RepliesFissure In Ano :: Tips / Treatment Options - Chronic Anal Fissure
Anyway, I was at uni and going through a bad time in my life, whenever I get stressed my guts go into turmoil. As a result I was off uni for a week with severe rectal pain and feeling lower than a snake's belly. I booked an appointment with my GP as I had experienced similar symptoms before.
My GP recognised the symptoms immediately, I thought I had piles, she said I was too young so had a look. The digital examination wasn't fun, in fact she said she had never seen anyway change colour so quickly but it was worth it because I was referred to a colorectal surgeon.
I took my sick note back into my tutor and as I was doing a clinical degree, he said straight away that fissures were worsened and sometimes caused by stress. The penny dropped.
As I said I was going through a very very bad time in my life which necessitated me going on antidepressants (Cipralex) for my emotional state. When this was added to wall climbing agony due to fissures I was near breaking point. I remember after one bowel movement almost fainting with the pain, I was lying at the top of the stairs at my mum's house and clawing at the wallpaper with my fingernails - I have had a broken leg and in terms of pain that fissure was far worse, trust me.
I went to see the colo-rectal surgeon a few weeks later, I was terrified, but he was a lovely man, very very considerate. He told me that I had a large fissure that could be helped with an ointment. I told him my background so he talked a bit more openly and said that fissures are an incredibly debilitating condition. He once had a 16 stone rugby player openly weeping on his consulting couch with the pain - I can understand why.
I was prescribed GTN ointment and started using it as directed. I had a slight headache which I could live with, but this was far better than the agony of the fissure and this headache was pretty much gone after the first week. After a week of use the pain from the fissure had also subsided to nothing. After six weeks I went back to the surgeon and I was healed.
I wish that was the end of the story but it isn't, I have probably had four or five bad flare ups since and dozens of other twinges, spasms, bleeds and itches since but I am nowhere near as bad as the first time - I can live with this now. I have seen the surgeon twice since and he has offered surgery but my frame of mind precluded me from that, I was simply terrified.
My GP is very understanding and I can get GTN on prescription whenever I need it. I was prescribed Anoheal by the surgeon as well but this didn't work as well as GTN for me, but I have seen cases in work where this has been incredibly effective.
As I said earlier, I was doing a clinical degree, which I have now passed, so I feel that I am pretty well qualified to offer a bit of advice, so here it is.
1. Go and see your GP. Don't be embarrassed, your doctor has seen dozens of these - they are very very common. If you get fobbed off or feel that you haven't got anywhere, go back and tell him/her that you are not happy and you will go elsewhere i.e. change your GP. Changing your GP hits their bank balance, and as GPs are notoriously greedy, they will do something. Nobody should have to suffer with this.
2. Take something for the pain but NOT codeine. Ibuprofen worked best for me.
3. Drink plenty of fluids and lay off the alcohol while you are healing.
4. Eat lots of fibre and fresh fruit and veg, switch to brown bread and have something like Weetabix for breakfast. This softens stools and makes them easier to pass - less pain and less damage to existing fissures.
5. Use a stool softener, one Movicol sachet daily really really helped me. You can buy these over the counter from your local Pharmacist but tell them what it is for. Alternatively get them on prescription from your GP.
6. Lay off the red meat, there is some science to this as meat increases the residence time in the gut and predisposes to harder stools. This really helped me and I have seen a few accounts here where sufferers also say that.
7. Try to relax, easier said than done, but try simple things like having a hot bath instead of a shower. If anything helps you, no matter how crazy or off the wall it may sound, carry on doing it. Going out for a drive helped me. Staying active also helps constipation and makes you feel better. Don't stay in and stew - stay positive.
8. Stick to the doctor's directions of any drugs you are given. If you are told to apply a cream for 6 weeks into the anus, then make sure it goes into the anus for 6 weeks. And into the anus means into the hole - not nice, but a lot nicer than the agony from an untreated fissure.
Remember you are not alone, these things can be cured. You will feel terrible and you will feel like nobody else understands what you are going through but believe me, these things are very very common.
And if all the above doesn't help there is a simple operation that can be done on a day case basis that has a 95% chance of curing it for good.
If you are reading this you are no doubt feeling horrible but believe me, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Abdominal Pain :: Pelvic Pain, Frequent Urination, Stomach Pain And Back Pain
I have had issues with a frequent urination and a constant pressure on my bladder for over a year now. But since January of this year I have been experiencing extreme pain in my low low abdomen (like groin/cervix area). The pain also resides in my stomach and back. My ribs are sore to touch and I am constantly achy. I have been to the doctors who have done internal exams and say that everything LOOKS ok. I am 20 years old and my periods are regular. The pain is becoming a real problem and I'm becoming increasingly concerned. I have had ultrasounds on my pelvis and kidneys and they were fine. I've been put on meds to stabilise my bladder, but the gynaecologist won't see me for another 4 months. I know there is something further wrong with me - I can't understand why the pain keeps occurring. I don't enjoy having sex due to pain and a constant discomfort and pressure-like feeling. I'm starting to get very depressed as there is no diagnosis being made and all the tablets I am given do nothing.
