Chiari Malformation :: Hearing Screeching And Loud Knocking Noises?
I'm 23 years old, I was diagnosed and had Decompression Surgery at 16. I have had nearly every symptom of Chiari that I have read about and this isn't new. Ever since I can remember I have seen and heard things that aren't really there. Although I always knew it wasn't real, most the time, it startles me. I have been treated with anti-psychotics and anti-depressants my whole life to no avail. Untill now I accepted the fact that it was just psychosis, but in the last year I have weaned myself off of all medication for depression, anxiety, and psychosis and behold! My depression and anxiety have diminished to nearly being non-existent. I AM HAPPY! But when I get a headache, the back of my neck/head swells and when it gets bad, I start hearing voices, screeching and loud knocking noises. It also feels as if there are people touching me, pulling at me, my skin crawls like there are ants inside of me. Also I see flashing lights, floaters, my vision gets blurry and distorted as if I am looking into those trick mirrors at carnivals.
I am scared of being labeled depressed and psychotic by doctors so I don't say anything. I have been dismissed by the only neurologist I have seen since my surgery, she even said I was 'cured' by the surgery. ARE these symptoms of Chiari or AM I crazy?
ENT :: Loud Clicking Sound In My Ears Clicking On Swallowing
Everytime I swallow or clench my throat I hear a loud clicking Sound in my ears. A few months ago I had 2 inner ear Infections.
Is the sound from the Eustachian tubes and is it a form of eustachian tube dysfunction?
Pregnancy :: Vibration Like Baby Movements
Has anyone experienced a vibrating like movement? I'm 26 weeks pregnant with my first, he's very active but over the last couple of days he's started to occasionally make a vibrating movement. The way I've explained it to my partner is that it's like a phone vibrating inside your tummy.
View 2 RepliesHeart Disease :: Intermittent Vibration In Chest
I've been experiencing an intermittent vibration from the region of my heart for the last 5 months. It can occur at anytime but usually when I am at rest or sleeping. I also get PACs and tachycardia in the afternoons which occurs whenever I am standing or walking (approximately 110 bpm). Sometimes the vibration is triggered by a PAC.
I have done the following tests
- 24 hour ecg (normal)
- Echocardiogram (normal)
- Blood test to check electrolytes and thyroid (normal)
I am 31 years old and Male. I am currently taking medication for hypertension but have been assured this is not a side effect of the med.
Anxiety :: Loud Heartbeat
Has anyone ever woken up to one loud heartbeat sound it usually happens to me when I'm falling asleep it's weird I can't really describe it but it kind of makes me jump
View 1 RepliesTinnitus :: Extremely Loud Ringing In My Right Ear
I am 16 and have had mild tinnitus for years, with an unknown cause and I could only hear it whilst trying to fall asleep. But after going to a concert last night, I woke up this morning with an extremely loud ringing in my right ear. It is loud enough that I am hearing it throughout the day, no matter what I am doing.
I am also experiencing mild pain in my right ear, but not experiencing any hearing loss.
I would just like to know what I should do, how I can cope with this, and if it may go away, or subside mildly.
Vagina :: Direct, Strong Clitoral Vibration Lead To Orgasm?
I had had a lot of trouble orgasming.
One thing I have tried is holding a vibrator on my clitoris. This causes my legs to shake like crazy and I feel like I'm going to scream. It isn't painful, it just feels so strong, and I end up feeling overwhelmed, and pulling it away. I kinda worry I might lose control with screaming and moaning. What I wonder is what would be likely to happen if I continued? Would it lead to a massive orgasm? Or could it do damage to my clitoris?
If I hold the vibrator near my clitoris, such as on my labia or clitoral hood, it just isn't satisfying enough, if I leave it there for ages then it feels kinda good, but it doesn't really lead to any kind of build up, and I want it to be more intense. After about 10 - 15 minutes, my labia just feel numb and uncomfortable.
If it would likely lead to an orgasm to keep it on my clitoris and not pull it away, I wonder if i should use a strap on vibrator or clit-pump with vibrator so that I can keep it on and keep my hands away from it?
Or, what should I do? I'm really frustrated and I really want to be able to have orgasms, particularly given that I will eventually want to be able to enjoy sexual relationships without having to worry that I cannot orgasm.
I'm 25 by the way, a virgin.
Mammogram With Architectural Distortion In The Right Breast
I just had a mammogram and it came back with architectural distortion in the right breast. My doctor says not to worry, but go for a repeat mammogram. The nurses in the office said the report did not sound concerning too, and one receptionist had this and it was the result of the mammogram having the distortion not the breast! I am so scared as reading on the internet does say that architectural distortion can be a sign of breast cancer. Has anyone had this show up on a mammogram? Can anyone offer some encouragement or experience with this?
View 5 RepliesEye Care :: Distortion Of Peripheral Vision
I'm wondering if anyone has ever experienced distortion in their peripheral vision. It's a bit difficult to explain, but it's almost like objects are a different shape in my peripheral vision than when I look straight at them. It often looks like straight lines are bent in my peripheral vision, or objects just seem to shift position but then shift back when I look back at them. Sounds very odd I know. I do have astigmatism on both eyes, but is this a normal symptom of that?
I have some other odd visual symptoms, such as trembling vision (straight lines appear to tremble) and light sensitivity. I had a virus about 6 weeks ago which I'm still struggling to recover from - achiness, fatigue, some muscle weakness. I've had blood tests, MRI brain scan and my eyes fully inspected by 2 ophthalmologists.
Thyroid Disorders :: Memory Loss / Distortion
My mother had her thyroid and a benign tumour removed about 6 months ago. She lives 3 hours away from me, so I have seen her a few times but only for short intervals and we regularly speak on the phone. Since her operation I have noticed she is always tired (also due to her heart medication) and that she has become more of a glass half empty type of person. Recently my father had a heart attack (serious but my Dad is a trooper and is now recovering after surgery). I have spent the last week with my mother, and with her thyroid and stress of my father I became her personal punching bag. Her erratic mood swings, outbursts and obsessing over trivial matters are well documented relating to the thyroid in all the googling I have done. What I can't find is any information on her memory loss/memory distortion of the facts. To give 2 examples (of many): 1. My parents had a lawyer at the hospital to update their will, so I went out and sat in the foyer. I was on my phone looking at Facebook to fill in time and one of Mum's friends sat beside me. I put my phone away and chatted to her friend. On the way home Mum had a go a me because her friend told her that I spent the whole time looking at my phone whilst she was trying to talk to me. 2. After leaving my niece's 21st, my Mum tells me that one of my brothers was very cold to her all night and didn't talk to her. A couple of hours later as everyone is heading off to bed, my mother says "So (my brother) didn't talk to you either" with which I replied "Yes we did, I spent quite a lot of time talking to him". My mother than lost it completely and started yelling that I had told her that my brother didn't speak to me. Though I can't find any information about this type of memory loss, I am hoping someone might be able to give me a heads up. Also if someone has been told by a family member about their erratic emotions I would love to hear your advice on how to bring it up with my mother.
View 3 RepliesEyes :: Vision - Multicolored Distortion Prism Floaters
Ok so i have this weird problem with my eyes. Randomly (happened a lot when a year ago but stopped until now) i start seeing distorted lines. Kind of like millions of tiny prisms are rotating in a line. The lines often start in the center of my vision (making it hard to read) then migrate to cover the left or right side of my vision (but no longer the center)
It appears to be transparent but it is actually not due to the flashing of colours all over it.
They often take shapes but they seem abstract and are hard to focus on. Kind of like a multicolored distortion prism floater (the lines that you can see floating sometimes) although it grows to cover ~30% of my vision.
The "distortion" often stays visible (or moves out of sight) between 20 minutes and 3 hours.
I have not discovered any trigger for this "distortion"
Spine Disorders :: Reflexology Help With Untreatable Spinal Distortion?
My mother suffers from spinal distortion. Her muscles are sprained. Doctors say that this condition of hers is untreatable. I was thinking of trying with alternative methods like reflexology is. What do you think? Can it really help with her condition or not?
View 2 RepliesHearing Loss :: Partial Hearing Loss With Clogged-up Ear
About a week ago, I was at home at the computer (I believe I was listening to music at the time), and I noticed that the hearing in my left ear had been significantly diminished (but not completely gone). About a minute (perhaps even less than a minute) later, it returned completely to normal, and so I assumed that it was just ear wax or something, and everything was fine now. However, a few seconds to a minute later, it went back to being diminished again. I can't remember for certain if I felt anything physically when all of this happened, but there may have been something that I felt in my ear - which led me to believe it was probably just ear wax.
I have researched on-line for possible solutions to this kind of problem, and I have tried every possibility that I could - peroxide, warm olive oil, blowing as hard as I can with my nose and mouth shut, blowing as hard as I can with my nose and mouth and other (good) ear shut, nasal decongestant (which successfully clears up my nose, but doesn't have any effect on the ear), hot steam bath, Similasan Ear Relief drops that are supposed to clear up water in the ears, jumping up and down with my bad ear tilted toward the ground, jogging, and of course trying to dig out ear wax with the ear wax curette that I have. Unfortunately, nothing has worked, and my hearing has been about the same ever since a week ago when it went out (diminished) for the second time.
I have been able to remove a lot of ear wax with the curette, and sometimes it seems to make it a little better, but it never restores my hearing to normal. Sometimes I feel like I am right at the spot where it is clogged up (if indeed clogged ear wax is the problem), because the curette seems to be hitting a spot that's clogged with ear wax (judging from what it feels and sounds like), but then when I dig out a bunch of ear wax at that spot, my hearing is still the same or perhaps only slightly better. Perhaps I am actually pushing the ear wax further inside, which was mentioned as a possible negative effect of trying to remove the ear wax yourself. Also, I am wary of not poking too hard or too deep, as that was also a warning given at the sites I visited in my research.
Swallowing never seems to do anything, but it's interesting that when I have a strong belch, I can feel pressure inside that left (bad) ear, and it really feels like it's about to burst out and expel whatever is stuck (if it's the case that something is stuck), but it never does. Maybe whatever is stuck in there [ear wax, presumably] is just in so tight that nothing seems to be able to remove it. However, the odd circumstance that occurred when the problem first originated - which is the fact that it got better right after getting clogged up, and then got clogged up again - would seem to suggest that there may be another reason for this happening, other than plugged-up ear wax.
Anxiety :: 6 Years Of Light-headedness, Panic Attacks And Visual Distortion
I have suffered with a so called anxiety disorder now for about 6 years. It started when I was on the train home from university and all of a sudden I lost some of my vision, felt very light-headed, pins and needles all over and thought I might pass out. This was the first time I had ever felt like this and before this incident, I was a very outgoing and independent person. However, since this I have has 6 years of constant, 24/7, light-headedness with severe panic attacks. I cannot go out, I cannot be left alone so my life is basically non-existent.
I have had every medical check there is - bloods, MRI, EEG, ECG - and all sorts of differing meds - citalopram, sertraline, lamotrigine, pregabalin and the list continues. All tests have come back negative and none of the meds have made any difference really. I have also had many diagnoses - depression, GAD, depersonalisation disorder, agoraphobia and even an inner ear issue. I have had counselling, CBT, hypnotherapy and all haven't made a difference.
Tinnitus With Whooshing Sound
Just over 2 months ago, a whooshing sound began in my left ear and it has been there ever since. It is much worse when I'm in a quiet room. I've now seen a consultant who thinks it's related to my pulse rate. He sent me for an MRI scan. I'm now awaiting the results. Has anyone else suffered with this and if so how was it cured, if it ever was?
View 1 RepliesPenis :: Clicking Sound When I Cum
I have noticed it before. It usually happens when I have watched porn or something that makes me have a big load.
Just as I have the first ejaculation, there is a discomforting pop in my stomach, just above the penis, like 3cm above and 3cm to the left of my shaft.
Is this normal? Where could the sound originate from?
ENT :: Crackling Sound In Windpipe
I find this helps with some relief. Block off the nostril on the side where the cracking is occurring with a cotton ball or tissue or small piece of tape. Breathe and blow your nose only through the open side for a few hours. In the beginning I only had to do this a couple of times a day. Do as often as necessary for your personal needs.
View 1 RepliesAnkle Reconstruction - Still Have Loud Cracking In Ankle
I'm 34. I had a left ankle reconstruction for instability with a ligament repair and arthroscopy in July 2015.
My recovery has been slow due to hip operations around the same time. My ankle has healed well however the range of motion is still below neutral for dorsiflexion though it's improving.
I still have loud cracking on the outside (lateral) aspect of my ankle where the ligaments were repaired. It's terribly painful and my ankle swells straight away each time. It usually occurs with shifting my weight. My ankle surgeon says it's scar tissue breaking down but is it usually accompanied by a loud painful crack in the same area each time. I'm worried it's not ok.
Cardiovascular :: POTS With Clicking Sound
I sometimes have pounding heart along with POTS symptoms. I am diagnosed with POTS. Other findings are very low exercise threshold, multiple atrial couplets and low blood gas oxygen levels. Doctors aren't concerned, but they should be I think.
Just today I had pounding heart with loud clicking sound. This has happened before and you can very clearly hear the clicks along with the pulse. Doctor doesn't believe me, as there is no murmur usually.
I have mental illness and therefore I am not believed. I am 33 years ol male, and have intolerance to neuroleptics, which has caused heart problems.
Has anyone experienced these sounds themselves or know what they are. Nurse mentioned valve's making a sound sometimes.
