Hormones :: Low Testosterone And Dropped Cardio
I have been diagnosed with Low T. I have been very fatigued over last couple months. My question is can low t affect your cardio? I am a runner and just completed a half marathon a couple months ago. Over the last month my cardio has dropped drastically. I can barely run a couple miles without having to stop. I have to walk for a while and then start running again. Could this be caused by the low t?

View 10 RepliesHeart Disease :: Intense Cardio With Tachycardia And PACs?
I've started working out every day pretty intensely, as I'm trying to get very strong. I'm a seventeen year-old girl, and I was recently diagnosed to PACs and tachycardia, much to my surprise. I was completely unaware of these conditions until I went to my annual physical (which was the event my doctor discovered the conditions), two specialists, and had to wear a holter monitor for a day. My heartbeat is usually around 120, but the holter revealed it fluctuates anywhere from 56 to 173 BPM when I am not exercising. I have no idea how fast it goes when I exercise intensely or even at all.
Basically, I want to know if it's safe for me to be doing intensely strenuous exercises and intense cardio. I really want to be super strong and fit, and I know there are certain limits of mine involving cardio. Ex: I can't run a mile in under ten minutes because my heart prevents me from being able to breathe enough. But I use the stairmaster regularly and do intense muscular workouts, and I just wanted to make sure I'm not putting myself in danger.

View 2 RepliesKnee :: 9 Week Post Op Report
- Totally off meds now for 9 days
- can do 20 min on bike at 60-65 rpm
- Joined Gym again (intend to hit the treadmill 20min/day or so. Will see)
- Still kind of stiff and sore depending on activity (all manageable).
- Bend is at 101 (thought it might be a bit better but it is what it is)
- Extension has gotten a bit worse. 3 weeks ago it was at 6 today only 10
hmmmm. I think this is my own fault however. Have been paying more
attention to the bending and slacking off a bit on the extension. Lesson
learned.
Pay close attention to both flexion and extension. Muscles are quick to
retract if you don't keep them stretched and well exercised.
- Sleep is also improving. 4 good nights this week. 3 not so good.
- Knee is still swollen and now using both Ice and heat at times.
- Still pain on inside of knee but improving
In summary, life is returning. Progress is not as quick as I thought it would be but who is ever really properly prepared for this? I sure wasn't.
When I look back to weeks 3-5, there is miles of progress. Sure there is still some discomfort and pain but all manageable now. I remember for a time I was stuck in one spot, other times when it felt like I was going backwards.
This is sure no linear recovery. Some old pains fade while new pains crop up when you least expect. Looking back now, they are all part of the healing process. So for those in their first few weeks, don't despair, there's some nice light not to far ahead.
I realize there's still a long hard road ahead (gotta keep those exercises up) But at least now I'm confident in working towards a full recovery. Even that stubborn extension. Haha
Oh and also thank you to the folks on this forum for all your support and encouragement.
Cyclizine Is A Dangerous Drug! Report It To Yellow Card Scheme
Cyclizine is a dangerous drug!
I was prescribed cyclizine tablets for vomiting and nausea. I was in hospital for a week in 2014. I suffered severe side effects from taking Cyclizine. I am still suffering some side effects.
My symptoms were Chorea, tremors, affecting the head, hands, feet and face neurological disorder characterized by jerky involuntary movements,
disorientation, speech problem, blurred vision, hearing problem, breathing problem, hallucinations and loss of balance.
If you feel your symptoms are due to Cyclizine then you may wish to report it to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) via their yellow card scheme -yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk.
I welcome any positive feedback on this!

View 7 RepliesOverdosing On Microgynon 30 - Have Affected My Fertility Somehow?
Basically for the last 2 or 3 years I have skipped most of my periods...I think I maybe have about 4 a year?
I just felt so low and scared of being alone with bfs, that i felt 'I'm due on my period. They will want sex. If i can't give it to them, the will break up with me'.
So I would keep skipping the pill...often though I would forget to take it and come on, sometimes lightly, sometimes heavily, and to force it stop early would eat about 5 or 6 pills in one go...just to force it to stop. I'm not sure how many times a month this would happen, but I mainly used the pill just to stop having a period, the day I would start one.
I know I have probably ruined my body, and my hormones to say the least are all over the place...i was super hormonal and cry-ey and jealous and just an emotional wreck.
But now I'm worried it might have affected my fertility somehow? & Maybe make it harder for me to conceive in the future. (Which is my biggest fear)
I keep getting random pains in my right ovary kind of area.
I will go to my Dr at some point, but I just wondered if anyone knew of anything.
I am also looking to come off the pill and maybe lay off of anything estrogen related/cut down on eggs too. I think my body needs to cut out estrogen all together for a while. Also, I don't trust myself not to be tempted again, if i'm feeling low about myself. I know it works, so I might do it. I am thinking of going on the implant or coil or something instead, but not sure if I should come off all hormonal based contraceptives, or just change to something else?

View 1 RepliesOraquick After 45 Minutes Of Eating - Food Particles Affected The Test?
I took an Oraquick home saliva test about 45 minutes after eating. The test was negative, but when I took the strip out after 20 minutes to throw it away, I noticed a food particle on the test pad (from some chips I had eaten an hour before) that had apparently been stuck to my gums and swept up by the pad. I know I am being paranoid to begin with by even testing (I have some issues with anxiety/OCD, which I freely admit), so not sure I want to invest in another test kit. My question is then, how likely is it that this food particle would actually affect the results? Would it be more likely to make the test falsely negative or falsely positive? I did get a control line, if that counts for anything...
View 1 RepliesLichen Planus :: Vulvar - Affected My Breasts And Small Patches On My Torso
I have just been diagnosed with LP vulvar, it has also affected my breasts and small patches on my torso. I've had it for a long time and just didn't know what it was, with flare ups that come and go- everywhere but the vulva, which has been rather constant and suddenly got worse about a month ago. Been in agony with the vulvar part for the past week because taking antibiotics for an ear infection meant severe thrush also got thrown into the mix.
The doctor said it was unusual for someone of my age to suffer from lichen planus (I'm 26), so I have to go to a dermatologist for their review. I'm also an IBS sufferer, I noticed on a lot of other posts that many people that mentioned LP/LS also have IBS.
I've been given Trimovate but, so far, the only thing that stops the itching long enough for me to get to sleep is Vagisil, which I'm worried will cause problems long-term even though it brings temporary relief.
I'm dreading going back to work tomorrow and don't know when/whether I'll get my sex life back with my amazing boyfriend. Feeling really rubbish
Atrial Fibrillation Symptoms?
Diagnosed in January. Not constant and have felt fine for 2 weeks but today I am fluttering nearly all the time. I'm on warfarin and waiting to see a specialist. Had a heart scan and all is fine. Also lots of blood tests but there is no underlying cause. What are other people's symptoms? I'm 54.

Atrial Fibrillation / Flutter :: Take More Water With It!
We all know the benefits of drinking adequate amounts of water during the day and I have also read that sufferers of arrhythmias would benefit from this because water adds volume to the blood which makes it less " sticky" and makes it easier for the heart to pump.
I've upped my consumption to around 2.5 litres per day which I'm hoping will help with my atrial fibrillation. I will try anything to be normal again.
Atrial Fibrillation / Flutter :: AF And Alcohol
Just wondering what people's general opinions are? I was diagnosed with AF around 4 years ago and seem to have an episode every 12 months or so..
I don't consider myself to be a heavy drinker have had nights out though and drinking has never seemed to set off an episode.. However I do like a couple of drinks as a "nightcap" on a weekend as get up early for work during the week so like to relax a little at weekend.
However have seen people on here refer to "Holiday heart" and to say excessive drinking has sent them into AF.
My latest episode of AF started around 6 weeks ago and I am still having palpitations. Not being sure if some of my symptoms are actually been caused by new meds (another story another forum) I was feeling really down the other day after a particularly bad day with chest pain and palpitations and finding out the side effects of meds. So thought stuff it and had a drink to help me sleep.... I found it actually helped!! the palpitations stopped and the pain went felt the best I've done in weeks.
Now wondering if maybe some of it is stress? I am a known warrior If everything is going well I worry that something is going slap me round the face and spoil it all lol.
Sorry for long post I do tend to go on - just wondering if anyone else found Alcohol actually helps?
