Sertraline And PTSD - Bouts Of Anxiety For A Couple Of Days
I have PTSD and have been struggling lately. My Dr prescribed me Sertraline about 7 weeks ago. I started on 25mg and have increased to 50mg.
Initially I had a few wobbles but persevered and feel so much better generally. The problem is that I feel pretty good then will suddenly drop and feel anxious for a couple of days. I feel shaky and as if I'm having internal tremors. I felt like this before the tablets too.
Another problem is that I'm already only a UK size 6. I have bowel disease and struggle to maintain a healthy weight. Now I've dropped half a stone again so only weigh 8 stone and I'm 5 foot 7.
The last 2 days I've felt 'nervy' again.
Hip Replacement :: Airport Alarm Rings
I'm now 11 weeks after lthr & 6 months after rthr. Having my 1st break away in over 2 & half years. Only 3 days to see hubby as he works away. Really anxious about alarms going off in airport. Surgeon said he could give me a letter but airport won't pay any attention as they do their own checks anyway & 2 hip replacements will be quite obvious to them. Has anybody had a problem with this as I'm travelling alone?
View 15 RepliesAnxiety :: Whirring Noise In Ears And Balance Issues
Does anyone get ear problems balance problems with their anxiety. I had a head cold ,after it left I was feeling a bit light headed then I noticed when I was walking I was kind of lurching to the side, It got worse and I would have to stop walking and balance myself or at other times the dizziness(not spinning ) would make me drop to the ground because I felt like I was falling ,my ears would ring and buzz and my adrenaline would roar through my body, I became terrified and the symptoms got worse, If I was sitting and moved my head that same jerky dizziness would happen, I am so scared of this my Doctor said it is anxiety but it is more then that, My ears make a whirring noise almost like the air is going inward instead of out.
View 3 RepliesCardiovascular :: Head Gets Warm, Ears Red And Hot Strong Pulse In Ears
Hearing heartbeat in ears. Sometimes it gets stronger First symptom is face gets very warm no fever, ears get hot and red and sensitive (right one) and whoosh or tzzing hearing in ears like pulse. It subsides after 8 hrs or less. Impossible to sleep. If I sleep flat on back am awakened 2 hrs later by
very strong heart beat like its forcing a lot of blood thru. Subsides with exercise. Condition goes away for 48 hrs so heart system not fighting infection. If I sleep with upper torso at 45 degree angle still wake after 2 hrs but pulses not as strong. Then after I can sleep for hrs no problem. Dr checked ears ok, did all blood work ok, I'm male 67 yrs and in gen good health. Did ultrasound on abdominal kidneys bladder ok. Seems like some chemical command triggering heart to pump harder and faster not too fast. I tested things to try to determine what triggers the face heat, ears hot and harder beats, chocolate, caffeine, pepsi's, salt, coughing, cigarette smoking, stressful video games have no effect. BP normal am taking Ramipril 10 mg Altace nothing else. Dont think its heart but something telling heart to work hard, feel it thumping in chest. Just repeated T3's blood test..and 24 hr urine special test..awaiting results. Reg urine test showed nothing, and abdominal ultrasound clear. No dizziness, nausea etc. Bowel and urine movement perfect, no pains or lightheadedness.

View 1 RepliesRetina Migraine - Blind Migraines A Couple Of Years Ago
I started getting these 'blind' migraines a couple of years ago. I went to see a specialist, had a brain scan and blood tests, and this is the name given to my problem. They start with an aura, usually over one eye and then develop slowly. I end up seeing wwwww inside one eye. It takes 20/40 minutes for it to disappear. I am usually left with a sore head rather than a painful migraine.
They have been quiet since Christmas and for some reason have started again. I can't seem to find much out about them on the internet and thought I would come onto this great site to see if anyone else has the same type of symptoms.
It may help to know I am female and in my 60's. Have suffered all types of migraine since I was about 13. I don't drink much either. Maybe a glass of wine now and again.
Thyroid Removal? Nodule 3.3cm (left) And Couple Of Small On Right
The large nodule takes up almost all of the left side of the thyroid whereas in the right side there are a couple of small nodules...about .2cm ...Quick questions...is there an alternative to the op? Surgeon has said he will try to save some of the thyroid but it's might not be possible....he said it could be dangerous and we should take it out...no pain, discovered by accident....advice please?
View 2 RepliesEustachian Tube Dysfunction Cause Vertigo That Lasts A Couple Of Hours?
I have recently been diagnosed with Meniere's disease because I had a few vertigo attacks, hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear fullness.
However, after much thought I am beginning to doubt that diagnosis. My ETD had been blocked for exactly the same time my symptoms appeared, I know that easily through the valsalva maneuver, my good ear is clear and bad one is blocked. Also, my bad ear does not pop properly after a flight. And my most severe symptoms happen within a few days after flying, which happened twice. I was vertigo free for 6 weeks in between the 2 flights. Another weird thing is I only get vertigo attacks in the morning right after I wake up, as if my horizontal sleeping position had something to do with it.
My questions:
1) Is it possible with ETD to get vertigo (room spinning) or severe dizziness attacks lasting up to a couple of hours?
2) Do any of you ETD sufferers sense that you get more dizzy after you get up from bed?
My Boyfriend Only Lasts A Few Seconds In Bed / Sex
I recently started dating this guy about a month ago. We did oral sex for the first time last weekend and he literally only lasted probably 30 seconds. I gave him oral a couple more times the next few days and the same thing happened. He told me he usually lasts 15-20 minutes when someone's giving him oral. Then, earlier this week we had sex for the first time. The same problem arose and he came within 30-40 seconds. He was really embarrassed and said he never really has that problem. I was with him last night and he didn't try to initiate sex or anything after we went to bed. In the morning, I really wanted to do it, but he wasn't taking any of my hints and didn't seem like he wanted to. I guess he realized that I really wanted to do it this morning so he gave in and only lasted no more than 40 seconds again. He was very upset and embarrassed. While we were doing it he was actually shaking. It doesn't bother me that he can't last very long, it just bothers me that it really bothers him. I don't want to keep embarrassing him and make him feel bad when we have sex, but I feel like us having sex more often is the only way it can really get better. Can anyone tell me why he does this or what I can do to make him not feel bad when it happens.
View 2 RepliesMultiple Sclerosis :: Dizzy Spells (15 Seconds) - 4x Per Day
Out of the blue, my friend has had dizzy spells roughly 4x per day for the last 4 weeks. Each of these last about 15 seconds and occur randomly. She is in her late 20s and otherwise does not have symptoms and healthy. Is this a possible early symptom of MS? (Or would dizziness be expected to be continual if it was MS-related.)
About 2 years ago she had an MRI for an unrelated event and the doctor told her the MRI was not normal and possibly consistent with MS (1 lesion). At that time she had no symptoms. However, as a result, her doctor recommended she get an MRI every 4-6 months. Her MRIs were unchanged until recently, there was another abnormality. (I do not know how significant the MRI change was, but i have the impression 1 potential new lesion that possibly coincided with the dizzy spells.)
From my perspective (with limited knowledge), i would think the dizziness could be caused by many things and it would be hard to say this is MS. I would also think that multiple MRIs should not have been given (?). However, regardless of these past things, her doctor wants to put her on MS medicine to prevent "future" attacks.
Neurological Disorders :: Involuntary Snorting Every 45 Seconds
My 30 year old daughter has been doing this for the last several years. She can resist doing it for a while, but typically snorts every 45 seconds or so when she doesn't feel a need to limit it. It's loud and unpleasant. She says it feels like she can't breathe so she is actually snorting in her throat more than her nose. She feels like her throat is tight and not letting in enough air. I know it's bothersome for her, but it is maddening for those she lives with.

View 4 RepliesOcular Migraine :: Recurring Temporary Blindness For Few Seconds
I have had silent migraines 24 years.. and recently had the first ocular one. With no warning, went blind for a few seconds, twice in ten minutes. The doctor confirmed it was not a stroke, ''just ocular migraine''. For most people, if the temporary blindness recurs, does the the time of the blindness usually last longer than a few seconds or for most people, does it stay at a few seconds? I am in my seventies.
View 1 RepliesMemory Loss :: Very Short Term - Forget Things Within Seconds
I am a 57 yr old male not currently on any medication. I have recently been having very short term memory loss.By recently I mean the last several weeks. For example I needed to move my sons car. I walk into the house to get the keys. By the time I walk into the house I have forgotten why I went in. I have to pause for a few moments to think why I came into the house. That is just one example. This happens to me many times a day. At work I need another tool from my truck or tool bag. I move across the room to my tool bag or walk to my truck and I have to think what I needed. I mean, I have forgotten what I needed within seconds of moving to get the object. This is becoming very annoying. Can diet have anything to do with this. I don't often get to eat breakfast and just something quick for lunch. Though I do have a full dinner. Although this happens whether I have eaten or not. I am planning on calling my doctor this week to see if he can point me in a direction for help but I was just very curious to see what people had to say about this and whether they have had any of these problems also.

View 1 RepliesCannabis Addiction :: Forget Things Within 15 Seconds And Vision Problems
I smoke weed once a month or so. I only started recently and yesterday I had some and I got some weird effects. My vision was like everything was sliding around and I was forgetting pretty much everything every 15 seconds or so. Just details though - I could still remember vaguely what was happening. I always have troubles with my memory when I get high but this is the first time it has been that bad and the first time my vision has gone strange. Is this normal or what? I still enjoyed it and it was just like being high normally, but I figured it would be good to see if anyone thinks the side-effects I was getting are a concern.
