Postmenopausal Bleeding And Cortisone Injection And

I am having the same issues after a cortisone injection in my shoulder.

My gyno history before menopause, which finally occurred at 57, was a mess due to endometrial hyperplasia and recurrent ovarian cysts (which were benign). I was on progesterone for years and/or birth control pills to avoid a hysterectomy.  I've been doing great so far except for a recent pap which came back abnormal.

Now after getting a cortisone injection last month, and almost 2 years into menopause, I recently started to have bleeding and pain in my left flank and ovary. It has lasted now for 5 days and seems to be getting worse. Im wondering if the cortisone has triggered more problems?

Going to see my gyno specialist ASAP to hopefully determine what is going on.

I am furious to read how many of us were never informed about ANY side effects of the shot. How can this happen? Why didn't my ortho doc (who was a woman of my age!!) not warn me?? According to these posts, many doctors don't even see a relationship, despite patients complaints!!
Many thanks to those who actually posted a follow up on the outcome of their tests. Some were very thankful because their issues were serious and actually had polyps or cancer.

I'm considering creating a blog for this topic in order to help others who are unaware and who should follow up on bleeding issues even though it could be just the cortisone which triggered bleeding.

Acne :: Dent After A Cortisone Injection?

I had a cortisone injection to a small cyst that was on my face for almost 2 months. It went down after a day. It has been a week and there is a small dent forming around where the shot was given. I was worried about this as I had heard this could happen, but my derm. was not and explained it was unlikely. Can I expect the dent to get worse? Feeling really bad and worried.

Corticosteroids :: Excessive Urination With Cortisone Injection

I had a shoulder joint cortisone injection 5 days ago and now I have excessive urination. Called the Doctor and they said this was not a side effect, but when I looked it up it states that it is a uncommon side effect. I have been peeing every 45 minutes for 4 days even though the night. I am sure I did this the last time I had this injection. Does anybody have the same reaction or the same problem?I am not diabetic.

Frozen Shoulder :: Cortisone Injection And Acupuncture Helped Little

have had frozen right shoulder since dec. this really is a debilitating condition and it is good to find somewhere to vent frustrations and get advice. had cortisone inj in feb, this has helped a little bit, but still in pain. i started acupuncture 6 weeks ago and am finding that it keeps the pain at a manageable level. am aware now that this is not going to be a short road to recovery, but would love to put on my bra the normal way, get undressed myself, brush and style hair at back of head and take off a jacket without first going through the rigmarole of shaking the left arm til jacket fall off. sorry lowercase but can't hold down shift.

Tarsal Tunnel - Sharp Pinching Pain After Cortisone Injection

I had a shot of cortisone for tarsal tunnel today. My pain is normally not constant. The pain occurs intermittent behind the ankle bone there is a sharp pinching. Since yesterday it was horrible and pinching like crazy. I could barely walk normal today so i went to podiatrist. For the past few months I had been seeking treatment ( ART, graston, chiro and ultrasound). I've also been doing strength exercises.

When you experienced the TT was it always constant and did cortisone ever help. If it helped how long before you noticed a difference.

Knee Pain And Discomfort, Torn Cartilage, Tendon Ligament Damage

I'm 22 and have suffered with knee pain for 5-6 years now i used to play rugby but stopped about 3 years ago mainly due to my knees. i went to my gp about 2 years ago and got refered to have an mri scan, my right knee has always been worse with the pain and giving way etc so i thought it best to get that one sorted first the results came back as a small tear in the cartilage so i was refered to have 3 months physio and if any problem persist after i would be referred to a specialist. Instead after my 3 months of physio i opted to pay for some private treatment (laser treatment, electrotherapy and ultrasound)where i was also told they thought it was tendons/ligament as well as the torn cartilage as i also get trouble with my hip, anyway i started to see.some improvement gradually but sadly couldn't afford to carry this treatment on so unfortunately im back to square one, i've got an appointment with my gp again and hoping to get referred to a specialist now, just wondered what other peoples experience with something like this has been, and what the outcome was? Ive got a bit of a phobia of doctors and hospitals so it takes alot for me to get sorted and i panic about it all.

Stem Cell Injection On Knee? Anyone?

Has anyone had Stem Cell Injection on Knee with Osteoarthritis?  They will repair a torn meniscus.  The stem cell injection is a new procedure that is supposed to help people with osteoarthritis to help grow cartilage back.  It works in most people from what I am reading.  Wondering if anyone has actually had this done and what is the outcome?  I am facing a TKR in time but they won't do it now.  This is my only option.

Lymphoma :: Swollen Lymph Node Below The Thyroid Cartilage

I have a swollen lymph node just below the thyroid cartilage. It's been there for months. It doesn't change in shape or size (I think) and it doesn't hurt. I know it's a lymph node because I had an ultrasound for the six-moth thyroid check-up (I have Hashimoto's) and the doctor told me that's what it is. He was very hesitant when he told me I shouldn't worry about for now it and that got me thinking. Could it be something alarming?

Hip Replacement :: Reduced / Missing Joint Cartilage And Bone Spurs

I have been in pain off and on for about 5 years now and xrays show that i have greatly reduced and/or missing joint cartilage and bone spurs including bone cysts that seem to come and go. The Ortho surgeon said from the x rays alone, I needed a full replacement. Most days its painful to walk for too long or bend,  twist etc which does interfere  a lot with my life and i often find it hard to sleep or reach a deep sleep. Id love to travel but but can never tell when my hip will feel okish and when it will be agony!  Every day can be different! I have been told pain like this comes and goes and is all part of the slow deterioration of the joint. As my surgery date looms in the next week i am starting to feel maybe i don't need it  ( hip is feeling okish today!) or am i just getting cold feet?  Im mid 50s and pretty healthy and active but this hip has certainly held me back especially in the last year. I've never had a big Op but some websites say sooner is better than later. Any ideas or thoughts?.

Bone / Joint :: Knee Pain: Ligament Tightness Behind Knee, Slight Knee Pain Under Kneecap

So I dislocated my knee in January of this year.  I was given a device that isolates my knee cap and hold it in place.  I wore the device off and on over the year whenever my knee would feel sort of irregular. I worked out routinely to help strengthen my knee, it helped the pain somewhat, but mostly just made me feel better about the way I looked, and kept me healthy.  I haven't worked out since some time before Thanksgiving.  Starting this week i've started to feel this new akward feeling behind my kneecap, sort of like the ligament behind my knee cap is tightening, sort of similar to how it felt when I dislocated my knee, but not exactly the same.  I get the pain after fully bending my knee, for example when I am on my knees doing my job stocking shelves at work, when I stand to my feet I can usually feel the pain.  I try doing a couple of different stretches when to make the feeling go away a bit, but it comes back, and then it eventually goes away again.

My knee "pops" (makes a loud popping noise and pressure) pretty regularly now but when I get off of work and off of my knees I experience the discomfort much less. I want to start exercising again on Monday, but I am scared I might dislocate again.  I will try using the knee cap device again tomorrow, but I feel as though whenever I use the device, it makes my knee feel like jello the next day, and make me want to use the device again, even though I was advised by my doctor that I should not need to use it regularly. ....

Frozen Shoulder :: Three Cortisone Shots Have Done Nothing For Me

I have seen several people who have posted that they have had this in both shoulders. I have had it in both and now on the second time for my right shoulder. This time is much more painful than the first two. I have done my best to wait it out and I just cant take it any long and am considering surgery this time. The three cortisone shots have done nothing for me.

My doctors have said this is an unusual case. They have never mentioned hormone levels. They have been checked twice this year and come back fine. Do I need to ask for a specific test or should I try hormones first to see if they work before I try surgery?

I am a person that just tends to do what the doctor recommends but I don't want surgery if I have another possible option.

Knee :: ACL Ligament Tear In My Left Knee Numb

I have an ACL ligament tear in my left knee. This happened about five years ago. I was on waiting list & got a call to do surgery, but then I got pregnant, so I had to go back on waiting list. It must be a long list because I am still waiting. They have looked at it again because of the soreness around the knee when I walk. My doctor told me I have mild arthritis in my left knee now, but can still go through surgery.

This past week, I was in a situation where I didn't do much walking, laid around for most of day. I didn't have a pillow to use for my knee to be propped up, so I just used my right leg or had my left leg on its side when I laid down on my left side. I don't feeling anything around my knee now. It is numb! Would anyone know what is wrong? I tried to apply ice to it, but I can't feel it. I still can walk ok, though. Thanks!

Knee :: Physical Therapy After Partial Knee Replacement

I am 42 yrs old and had a Partial Knee Replacement done on Jan 6th...outpatient...went to first PT the next morning. Wasn't too bad...2nd was a little rougher and I was in more pain. 3rd visit had a different therapist and she pushed me beyond what I thought I was ready for. She basically forced bended my knee and forced straighten it..said it's to keep scar tissues from interfering with recovery...this was extremely painful. I am curious to if this is normal protocol on your 3rd visit of PT..which was 7 days post op...I was in soo much pain I could not go to my next PT. Plus I have bruising on my ankle from her force bending with her body weight...I figured I would go back on Monday when my normal Therapist will be there....I have made progress with bending and straightening and don't think I should be rushed like that...I am still in alot of pain but am able to walk around house without crutches. I have been icing and elevating along with doing my homework PT.

Knee Braces Helpful After Total Knee Replacement

I am a 31 year old female about to have a TKR due to severe arthritis caused by PVNS. Currently I have very weak quads and calves in my bad knee from major loss of knee extension. I've heard that it's really hard to go into replacement surgery with weak muscles. I was wondering if I should get a knee brace for after surgery to help with some support until I get my strength back? Has anyone tried these webbing braces and if so do they help? I know some of the immobilizing braces actually cause atrophy.
