Dodge - Dakota :: 1998 - Water Leakage - Pooling Up On Both Sides Of Floor

I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota in very good shape. I bought it from my brother who has owned it since 2000. I drove the truck from Reno, NV to southeast Alaska where I live, and all along the pacific coast. It rained a LOT and I noticed pooling of water on the floor at my feet, soaking the carpet completely and pooling up. I thought I was tracking water in the truck from my boots. BUt I have had it here in Alaska for 7 months now, and it is still HORRIBLE! It rains here all the time and I can't get rid of the puddles. There are no plugs in the floor for drainage and I can't figure out where it is coming in. The windshield looks good, and the door seals look good also. I cannot figure out where the water is getting in so I can stop it. THe truck is going to rot and rust if I can't fix it! And here's the thing, the water is pooling on BOTH sides of the floor-passenger and driver. I am baffled. No one ever sits on the passenger side so its not coming from boots! there is no way for water to flow from one side of the floor to the other.

Dodge - Dakota :: 1993 - Quits Running At Any Time / From Right After Startup To Going Down The Road

My 1993 Dodge Dakota quits running at any time, from right after start-up to going down the road. It wont start running again until the check engine light comes on when the ignition is turned on. I can sit there from a few seconds to five minutes before the check engine light comes on. I have cycled the key three times to check for a code, but there are none. I have checked much of the wiring to the relays and some to the PCM, but have found nothing wrong. This truck did the same thing with the two previous owners, and had the PCM replaced, to no avail.

Dodge - Dakota :: 1993 - Stalled When Pulled Into Driveway / Running Rough

I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota with a 5.2l MPFI and auto trans that has me and many other mechanics stumped. Recently it stalled on me when I pulled it into the driveway, and ever since it has had this problem.

When I start it up in the morning and it's cold, the problem isn't as bad, but as it warms up it gets worse. It sounds like it's running rough, but its firing on all cylinders. I've verifies this by pulling the plug wires and also the fuel injector wires, and each one will bog the engine down a bit. Also, when I'm cruising or parked, if I hold the throttle at 1000 rpm or less, it loads up and will stall when I let off the throttle. I have to bump the throttle to about 1500 rpm or so when pulling up to a light so that it won't stall on me. When I hold the throttle and it loads up, I can read the o2 sensor with a scanner and it shows 0.8 or 0.9v, so I know it's running rich. If I let off, the sensor reads normal. It's not super rich, but enough that it causes this problem.

Things I've tried so far:

- Replaced plugs, wires, cap, and rotor
- New coil (old one had cracks in the case)
- Checked distributor for play in the shaft, timing chain for looseness, and cam sensor for damage
- Has a new PCM, swapped back to old one and the problem still exists
- Checked fuel pressure with and without regulator, is within specs cold or warmed up, no odd drops in pressure
- Checked all sensors with scanner to verify they read within specs
- Replaced all sensors with known good used AND new and none made any difference (o2 sensor, MAP sensor, TPS, air intake temperature, idle air control, coolant temp sensor)Plugs are brown/tan colored, none are blatantly rich
- Replaced the battery, alternator, and checked all grounds
- Checked the EGR system for correct operation
- Checked for vacuum leaks and broken wires, found none

The truck also has no catalytic converter and only has 1 pre-cat o2 sensor. I also am not getting any codes.

Dodge - Dakota - Radiators :: Truck Started Running Hot / Foam Coming Out Of The Overflow

we had a shop replace a thermostat in oct 10, last week our truck started running hot so we put in about 3 qt of 50/50 coolant. it returned to normal temp the next day we noticed some foam coming out of the overflow. when we opened the hood it looked like a brownish/red color and is a thick foam. When taking it back to the garage they cannot tell what it is. They have tried to flush it out and say they put in 3qt of fluid and only get out 1qt. It can be chunky at times. What it could be?

Dodge - Electrical-wiring - Gauges - Dakota :: Battery Cable Pops Off While Driving / Car Keeps Running

While driving home after replacing a dead battery, clearly I didn't tighten the negative cable enough as it popped off while I was driving (I only found this out after I got home though). But even after popping off, the truck kept going, albeit with the battery gauge maxed out and the dashboard/headlights flickering. I turned off what I could (it was night, so I needed headlights!), but it still accelerated well, and there were no noticeable performance issues at all. When I got home, I tightened the cable, started it up again just fine, ran it for a minute, then turned it off and restarted it fine again with no problems.

My concern is: am I looking at serious electrical issues long term, or should I be ok? I'm just trying to make sure that driving without a negative cable for less than a mile doesn't fry certain parts of the car, and end up causing big issues down the road. (Truck is a 2000 dodge dakota slt)

Suburban :: 2005 - Water Leaking Onto Right Front Floor

2005 K1500LT: I've read quite a few posts about the wet carpet problem with these suburbans, but now I have to pin this down quickly. It's not from the a/c condensation because I'm not running the a/c right now and the water has seeped in again. So, scratch that one.

I first noticed it the other day after 6 days of rain (yeah...in Las Vegas). The floor was wet from the front to the rear seats on the passenger side...and the windshield was fogged on the inside when I opened the doors after it sitting for a few days nose up on my inclined driveaway. I dried it all out with a heater and fans.

Then, I took it through a local carwash to see if I could find the source of the water. There wasn't really any inside that I could find, but the upper footwell against the firewall did seem damp. Still, nothing that would be a problem. So, I parked it in my driveway nose downhill. It rained last night so I checked the carpet again this AM. It was soaked and even had a small puddle in the r.f. corner. I pulled up the carpet and am now trying to dry out the pad underneath.

I had looked as closely as possible at the firewall yesterday and couldn't see any open holes or missing grommets. The front end was repaired just before I bought it and the two cowl trim pieces on each corner below the windshield are missing...but any water coming in that area should drain down outside the interior area. I haven't found any plugged drains YET. If the windshield was replaced I guess it could be leaking, but not sure how to isolate that from the cowl to test it. The door trim/gaskets were dry on the inside so I don't think it's coming through the door seal...maybe.

So...where are the drains and any other place water could come in from a light rain coming directly down and the truck facing downward?????

Water Getting To Front Passenger Floor Area Of Avalon In Rain

It's from rain, but only getting to the front passenger floor area. And this just started in the last month. Decades ago I had a VW Rabbit that would get serious water, in all 4 quadrants, in rain or a car wash. But I figured that one out, the "gutter" in front of the windshield was jammed up with dead leaves, once those were cleared, no more water coming in.

So, when this Avalon leak appeared, that was the first area I checked. There was a bit of leaves and twigs, which I cleared away, but the worst of it was on the drivers's side and as I mentioned, no problem there.

Prius (2004-09) :: Cold Water Leaking From Console Onto Front Passenger Floor

I have a 2008 Prius. I recently discovered some cold water leaking from behind the center instrument console on to the front passenger side floor. It only leaks when the A/C is running and there doesn't appear to be any difference if running with fresh air or recirc air. I removed the plastic covers from that area to look around. There is cold water dripping from the bottom of the metal tube that goes behind the console and into I guess an A/C component. The water is not running down the tube as the tube itself is dry. So, I'm wondering if this may be condensation on the A/C unit? Also is there a drain tube that may be clogged or something like that?

Chevrolet - Equinox :: 2005 - Water In Floor Carpet Of Front Passenger Side?

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox that has developed an odd issue. For about a month, after a good rain, I have a puddle of water in the floor carpet of the front passenger side - while parked. It develops from the center of the car to about the middle of the floor below the seat. So since that is the case I don't think the side window is leaking but I have looked for signs of water coming in. Nothing. The windshield was replaced about 5 years ago but again, no signs that water is coming in from there either. It can't be from the bottom of the car, right? I mean it happens while it is parked, so that doesn't make sense.
