Camry :: Window Seals Leaving Black Residue On Windows
2011 SE v6 18k miles (certified used)
When we bought our Camry a couple months ago one of the things we noticed at the dealership when looking at the car was that all the windows had a black line at the very top of all of the windows. It looks like the window seal is rubbing off onto the windows and leaving this black line of "stuff" on the window.
We mentioned it to the salesman who said that when the car was being detailed, it would be cleaned off.
When we were picking up the car, there was still some of this black residue on the very tops of the windows, where it seals into the door. We said something to the salesman and he personally took a razor and some cleaner and wiped it off.
Here is the problem, it keeps doing it. I'm assuming that the window seals are bad, possibly from the heat? Either way they keep leaving this black residue on the windows which is annoying my wife.
Passat (B5) :: 2003 - Oily Residue On Front And Side Windows
My wife's 03 wagon has developed this weird problem. I keep the car pretty clean, always clean the inside windows a couple of times a month. We always defrost with the A/C on, no recirc.
We had the car in the body shop for some front end damage. Ever since then the front and side windows seem to have this oily residue on them. The stuff will not come off. Tried Invisible Glass, my usual cleaner. Really awful to see at night.
If the heater core was leaking under the carpet, could this cause it? or if the sunroof drains were clogged? I also changed the cabin filter with an aftermarket one from a vortex vendor.
Lexus RX330 :: Heavy Coolant Residue Under The Water Pump
2004 Lexus rx 330 with 53000 miles, I took it to the dealer for 50,000 mile service when he requested me to change water pipe for coolant because he found heavy coolant residue under the water pump. My question is do I need to change timing belt also right now. when I called the mechanics some of them recommending me to do the timing belt also.

On the 06 Prius I have been working on, I noticed a light build up of pink coolant residue on the inside of the ICE water pump pulley. I assumed that this was due to a coolant leak from the weep hole, which points to an impending water pump failure.

It seems to be on all my doors making me think this is just how they are ...
Basically I put the dry window down and it comes back up covered in small water droplets. That's not a big concern by itself but if it's not just some random part like the weather sealing that stays damp and my doors are holding onto a bunch of water that has me worried.
Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Water Dripping At Parking Spot
We've been noticing that upon pulling into and out of our parking spot, there has been water puddles and upon close inspection today after pulling our car into the parking spot, I looked under and saw water dripping. This is possibly A/C-related because we are running the climate control on auto every time we drive? Our car is brand new and has about 400kms on it.
View 6 RepliesGolf V R32 :: Water Leak Inside / Odd Smell And Found A Small Wet Spot Underneath Passenger Front Floor Mat
Maybe I've been having too much fun in the rain... I've recently noticed an odd smell in the car and found a small wet spot underneath the passenger front floor mat, only to be followed by same in the rear passenger floor mat. I was hoping it won't happen again, but I found myself with the wet floor few weeks later after the rain.
I first thought it may be the bike rack (which I have posted in the earlier month) but seeing the location and occurence, it couldn't be from the rack. It was always the underneath the center of the freaking floor mat.
My R is at the dealer since yesterday, getting a full physical.. They're even talking about removing the headliner to make sure there is no internal leak from the roof.

View 1 RepliesPrius C :: Beads Of Water On Side Windows?
My Prius C is 5 months old, and the rains just started recently. I realize I have a problem I never had with previous cars: when the car is wet (whether it's raining or not) the beads of water on the side windows reflect light and really hamper visibility. I'm constantly having to roll down the windows to see. I drive mainly around town, so not at high speeds that might blow away the beads (not sure it would anyway). I notice that the windshield only gets these beads up high, where the wipers don't go. The glass where the wipers go stays clear -- no beads.

I bought a 2004 Prius recently, and there are water outlines where the windshield wipers work. I looked up the tricks online, and tried white vinegar. No luck. I went to the next step and purchase very fine steel wool (#0000), but that doesn't do anything to it either.
View 5 RepliesLexus RC F 2015+ :: Water On Side Windows After Rolling Them Down Then Up Again
I am a new RCF owner. I have one small complaint - water on the side windows after rolling them down then up again. If I wash my car by hand or get a car wash or it rains, I can't roll my windows down and then back up without a crazy amount of water on them.
Of course when that water on the windows dries it ruins my otherwise clear car. And its not like I am rolling the window down right away. Its hours later or the next day at it still comes back up wet. Its basically to the point where I don't bother rolling my windows down because of the wetness.
I have checked to make sure the bottom drains on the door are clear. As an experiment I took my girlfriends Hyundai Elantra to the car wash and then rolled the window down and up...nothing, no water at all. I don't get it.

For a long time I parked my black 2001 Honda Civic outside where it got spayed by lawn sprinklers. I also neglected to wash it frequently.
