Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Coolant Leak On Driver Side - Radiator Leaking?
On Friday am I noticed a 6" sized puddle on the garage floor. Coolant leak on the drivers side coming off the frame. Dropped it off at the dealer on Sunday and today the tech tells me it was in fact a radiator leak and the new one will be here wed. They hope to have it buttoned late Wednesday. I am assuming all will be covered under warranty.
I have 23k miles logged and had just got home from a 1300 mile run pulling about 18k worth of hay and trailer. Truck performed flawlessly. Averaged 11mpg for the trip. I am hoping this is the first and last radiator replacement I have to go thru.
Ford 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Radiator Leak - Puddle Of Coolant Under The Right Front Driver Side
My truck just passed the 3 year/36k by 2 days! I got it on 8/4/10 but it only has 27,000 miles of course I just found a puddle of coolant under the right front drivers side. After a little reading, I guess this is common. Should I push for Ford to fix it or get an extended warranty and turn it in on that or... Aftermarket yet that isn't half plastic like this stock POS?
View 12 RepliesYaris/Scion & Vitz :: 2009 - Coolant Leak On The Top Hose Coming From Radiator
I just bought a used 09 yaris, 5 speed manual tranny. There seems to be a small coolant leak on the top hose coming from the radiator, the one that connects to a plastic flange or adapter and then go's to the engine block. The car does not get hot and it drive fine except it leaks at that spot. I try using a regular hose clamp and still leaked. Is the thermostat not opening up or is the water pump intermittent stopping? or something like that. Or maybe the hose itself is bad. Since this is a used car who knows what the previous owner did, I might change out the hose over the weekend and replace all the coolant to the correct Toyota long life system. to be on the safe side.

I discovered the other day that I have a radiator leak on the drivers side of the radiator. (Seems to be near the top) It doesn't appear to be coming from the coils. But I noticed today, after driving about 20 miles, that the radiator cap was still cool to the touch. I was able to remove the cap without ANY issues. And the temp gauge is running just a bit behind the halfway mark. I have plenty of heat. The truck runs fine. And the water pump is new. (Within the last year) I'm not sure what I have going on besides the obvious leak.
View 10 RepliesPassat (B5) :: 2002 / 1.8T - Small Leak In Transmission Cooler Line At Radiator Connection
Had a small leak on show up in my transmission cooler line at the radiator connection. After replacing the o-ring, which was pinched, I had lost some fluid up to about 3-4 oz. I had stopped by the local VW dealer and picked up a liter of ATF fluid and noticed the colors of the fluid differed from what drained out from the cooler line. Fluid that drained out was a cloudy darker green/grey and the new ATF fluid had a clear yellowish tint. Is this vehicle equipped with a closed loop cooling system or does it use the actual ATF fluid as the cooling medium?
View 2 RepliesFord 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel :: Primary Radiator Leak / Small Drip From Front Driver Side
I have approximately 66,000 miles on my 2013 F250 truck and noticed a small drip from the front drivers side around 40,000 miles. That random drip is now a leak and the truck will be going into the shop to replace the Primary Radiator.
I absolutely love this truck, but what a disappointment that this isn't a recall. What scares me is that my buddy who has a 2014 F250 will be going in for his second primary radiator in 3 years of ownership.
Ford - Explorer :: Coolant Leak / Puddle On Driver Side
I looked at a 99 with a 5.0 and noticed a puddle on the driver side, a little below and inboard of the power steering pump but outboard of the water pump. The puddle was higher than the water pump weep hole and it was in a racetrack oval shape. I was unable to see where the leak originated and I couldn't tell exactly what part/housing the puddle was sitting on. Obviously, the leak had originated from above.
I don't think it was coming from the upper radiator hose as I remember the upper radiator hose being more on the passenger side and I don't recall any heater hoses in the area. The only things that came to mind as the potential leak source were the intake manifold and the sensors on it. Are the 5.0 intakes prone to coolant leaks? Other than hoses, what else would be leaking coolant on the driver side?
Deville :: 97 - Coolant Leak Coming From Right Side Of Car
I have a 97 Cadillac deville with the north star. My problem is I have a bad coolant leak coming from the right side of the car. You can see that it's all wet on the right side but I pressure tested it and it holds pressure and nothing leaks. Where it is wet it looks like it came from the overflow drain tube and it looks like it's been blowing back. I've been going through a lot of anti freeze but it's like chasing a ghost you can see it's wet but under pressure it doesn't leak. It does not overheat. Can it be the water pump?
View 6 RepliesFord - Ranger :: 1994 - Coolant Leak Originate From The Driver Side
I seem to have a coolant leak somewhere - i changed the oil yesterday and while i was at it i topped off the coolant in the recovery tank to the cold line. Took the truck out for about a half hour then parked it over night. when i came out this morning i found a pretty sizable puddle on the ground, seeming to originate from the drivers side, and when i checked the radiator it was low but the coolant recovery tank was full past the cold line...i let idle today for about a half hour then let it cool down trying to catch it in the act but saw nothing. if i trace the source of the puddle it seems to be coming from the cap area or at least that side of the compartment. would this be the radiator cap itself? allowing coolant to boil over and out but not get sucked back in? Since I've had the truck i have noticed a small, very small, amount of coolant on the ground now and again but this is the first big puddle.
View 1 RepliesVolvo - S60 :: Radiator Light Would Blink On - Coolant Was Low
My elderly mother brought a used 2006 Volvo SR60, in 2008. Later she discovered that the radiator light/coolant would blink on in the car. The Coolant was low. She took the car to To Mckevitt Volvo here in the Bay Area. The car was under warranty. McKevitt replaced the radiator
Apparently she kept having problems with the coolant system in the car. She took the car to another car repair place (Ackerman) and they detected a tiny crack in the radiator, but they said it wasn't enough of a leak to cause the leak. Then they suggested replacing the thermostat of the car. Apparently, this is a real costly procedure costing hundreds of dollars. She opted not to do this..
Recently she took the car back to McKevitt Volvo, still because of the coolant problems, the car is no longer under warranty,, Mckevitt held the car for a couple of days, after an inspection for leaks, they told her they could not find any leak, although they cleaned up the car, and didn't charge her for their services.
So now she's paying on a newer model car, , that leaks coolant, but no one knows where....
Does she still have any recourse, what should she do? She's an older person in her 60's so she needs her car and doesn't need a blown head gasket. I suggested, trying one of those "over_the_counter_" radiator, coolant system seal, to stop any leak, are these safe to use?

View 14 RepliesFord F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2002 - Coolant Leak On Driver Side Front Right Near The Thermostat Housing
I'm trying to figure where the coolant leak is. Appears to originate on the driver's side front, right near the thermostat housing. Since the engine tilts back the entire drivers side is wet. The thermostat gasket appears to be OK, but it does have a lot of miles on it.
If it's not the thermostat then can coolant leak from the cross over tube. And is the cross over removable without taking off the intake. There appears to be a bolt coming up from underneath on the passenger side.
Also, does coolant flow through this plastic intake. If it does, then the leak could be some where else, if not, then it's probably the thermostat.
Volkswagen - Beetle :: 2006 - Oil Leak Coming From The Connection To Hose

View 3 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: 2004 - Coolant Leak / Loud Ticking Coming From Passenger Side
2004 Jetta GLI 2.8 ... Tonight I started getting a coolant leak somewhere on passenger side. There is also a loud noticeable ticking coming from that area but it is NOT the engine. Slow steady tick, just to the left of engine (when looking head on). Car also began to overheat. Coolant reservoir is full, too flow to be honest, but I don't see any leaks from there. No check engine light is on. Car does NOT leak coolant when off. Only when running and putting load on engine. At idle I cannot see any leakage. Thoughts? I'm thinking perhaps water pump? 87k on the car. Original pump from what I can tell. Bought the car a week ago.
View 24 RepliesFord 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Small Coolant Leak Coming From The Passenger Side Near The Back Of Engine
I have a small coolant leak coming from the passenger side near the back of the engine that forms a spot about the size of a dinner plate if it sits for a few days.
One thing I noticed is if I turn off the AC selector switch when I park I will get the drip but if I leave the switch on MAX AC when I shut the truck off I do not get any leaking.
It is definitely coolant and not just the condensation from use of the AC. If I haven't used the truck for a few days or if I have run it with the AC off I will get the drips.
If I run with the AC on and leave the switch in the on position when I shut the truck off it won't leak. I have tried to locate it from looking above and below but can't determine where it is coming from.
Volvo :: Radiator Fan Started Coming On While In Reverse
My radiator fan recently started coming on while in reverse. The weird thing is when it's in park it sounds like the fan is trying to come on but never does. It sounds like the fan just keeps getting turned on and off very very rapidly. When I put it in reverse it just turns on, in neutral and drive it's off. This only happens when I've been driving for at least a few mins.

I have a relatively decent standard of DIY mechanics, but I have never worked on a Hyundai before.
I have a leak coming down the drivers side rear shock absorber (the bit that bolts onto the swing arm) this has obviously resulted the the rear of the car riding low, but, is there something I can take apart and replace or do you have to replace the whole thing.
it seems likely that it could just be a seal broken somewhere.
Passat (B5) :: Power Steering Fluid Leak Coming From The Rack On Driver Side
Replace the seals in a power steering rack on a Passat? I recently noticed I had a fluid leak after seeing spots on my driveway. After discovering it was power steering fluid when I checked the reservoir, I checked all the lines and found the leak coming from the rack on the drivers side. The boot on the steering rack had come loose and there was fluid leaking from the side of the rack. Is there a fix for this or am I looking at a expensive repair?
