Camry :: Toyota 2007 Banging / Grunting Sound When Starting Engine

I've a 2007 Toyota Camry (LE 2.4 L 4-cylinder). Couple of days ago I tried to start the car and I heard this banging/grunting sound as I started the car. And, after the car started the engine is running much louder. Oddly enough when I got out of the car and opened the hood the noise didn't seem that loud. In other words, it sounds louder from inside the car than standing outside with the hood open.

Before all this, the engine ran very smoothly and very quite. Here is a link for two audio files that captures the sounds. Note that I recorded these two clips from inside the car.

First when is when I'm starting the engine (the sound can be heard at around 6-7 seconds): [URL] ....

Second is when the engine is running loud (I'm not driving the car...just sitting there letting the engine run): [URL] ....

Toyota - 4runner :: Pulsating Humming Sound At Around 70 MPH

My 2005 Toyota 4Runner is the V8 version with 4 wheel drive. I'm getting a pulsating humming sound at around 70 MPH - woh woh woh. Thought it might be new tires but it stops the instant you let off the accelerator. Hard to pinpoint location but if I had to guess I'd say driver's side front.

Camry :: 2006 - Humming Sound When Put The Car Into Gear

I have an 06 4-cylinder Camry LE. I recently had the belt tensioner, idler bearing, and water pump replaced under warranty. I originally went in to have it looked at because it was making a rattling/humming sound when I put it into gear, but would go away for the most part after running down the road for awhile. The other day, I had to back up to the house (on an incline) and it started making that same noise, but louder. For the most part, it goes away after driving, but I can still feel that humming vibration in the gas pedal however. I took it into the dealer and had them inspect it again. I was told that it is nothing to be concerned about. The computer was checked and came back clean. It was stated in my invoice as the following:

"Due to prolonged disconnect of the battery during previous repair. The engine needs to relearn all it's preset values. This condition is not a problem."

I have stumbled across others stating a possible valve issue, along with "you need to replace the water pump," which I already did.

Camry :: Steering Wheel Flutter And Humming Sound

A few months back my 2007 Camry started having this vibration along with a humming/buzzing sound between the speeds of 40-70mph. I seriously thought it was an axle/hub/bearing issue because of the buzzing sound. But at the same time the brakes were wearing down and noticed the shaking of the rotors when braking so kind of figured it may just be that. Explained to the Toyota people and they said most likely new brake service will fix the issue and not an axle/bearing issue. So went ahead and had the brake service done for both front & rear but the vibration & sound is still there. Can't be the tires because just got new ones just last year. Balanced & alignment done and still doesn't solve the problem. Found a TSB, T-SB-0106-08: Steering Wheel Flutter/Body Vibration at highway speeds (approximately 65-75mph).

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2011 - Humming / Howling Sound At 55+ MPH

6K mile 2011 Santa Fe Limited front wheel drive V6 and I am getting a humming/howling sound at 55+ MPH and it is very annoying, not too loud but there. It is really bad at 75+...

The tires were road forced balanced and a alignment was done by the dealer. The Rear was way out of align but they supposedly fixed it.

I do not get any kind of vibration in the body or steering wheel but the humming/howling sound is terrible. Almost like when you crack one of the rear windows and you get that pressure sound...

Toyota - Camry :: Humming Noise After Hitting Ditch / Rear Defroster Not Working

I have a couple of things going on with my 2014 Toyota Camry. My car was in a recent rear end collision and I noticed the other day that my rear window defroster is no longer working. I waited 15 to 20 minutes and still nothing. The side mirror defrosters work fine. One button turns on both my rear and side mirror defrosters. The extent of the rear damage did not go past the trunk lid. They did replace the lid, but I'm not sure why that would make a difference. The rear window was not replaced. There was also some quarter panel damage underneath that required welding. It was working fine before the body work and now it's not working. Would could be the likely cause? I'd rather fix it myself if it's quick, rather than spending time taking it back tot he body shop.

The other problem...I was on a road that had a drop off on my passenger side. The lane slightly narrowed for some odd reason for just for a few feet. The front right side tire went off road and the front of my car hit the pavement pretty hard. I couldn't see any damage underneath, but of course that doesn't mean there isn't any. When I was driving to work this morning I could hear a humming noise that only got louder as I drove faster. It wasn't a continuous hum. You could hear a break in between hums but the breaks were more frequent the faster I drove. I'm not too sure what that is either? A wheel bearing?

Ford Fusion :: 2007 AWD - Strange Humming Sound While Driving

I have a 2007 Ford Fusion AWD and noticed a humming noise as I was driving last night. It started when I got near 50mph and seemed to stop or get so quiet as to be not noticeable when I got to 40 or put the breaks on. What this might be?

Camry :: 2007 - Whenever Accelerate Having Humming / Whining Noise

I was installing a new engine mount the one on the tranny and one of my jack stands failed on me, luckily I wasn't under the car. I always put a tire under the car just in case and it worked for me, but now whenever I accelerate I have a humming/whining noise. Can this be the transmission? This is on the 07 Camry 4 Cylinder.

Camry 2012+ :: 2013 SE With Faint Droning / Humming Sound - Suspension Noise?

I love the car, but had a few small gripes, including ride firmness and road noise. Well, the ride firmness has definitely calmed down a great deal over the first 3500 miles to now I find it has a perfect balance of handling vs. comfort. It's firm, but the bumps are not as jarring as those first 500 miles or so. I'm very happy with it.

The 2nd issue I hd/have, is road noise... or rather... I think... suspension noise. It's a faint droning/humming sound that I think comes mostly from the rear. You can start hearing it at 20-30mph on all but the smoothest of roads. The noise seems to be *in addition* to the very, very minimal tire noise I hear from the very nice stock Michelins. The harsher the road, the louder the noise of course.

My guess (and it's only a guess?) is that the metal bushing ('pillow ball') in the rear along with the other firmer suspension parts are the primary cause of this noise.

So I have tried a couple of things to try and counteract this noise:

1) Put D'amplifier Pro in the trunk - Got down the bare metal and put the stuff all of the place back there... Above the wheel wells also.

This did not stop the noise I hear.

2) I then put some sound deadening foam mats above both rear wheel wells.

This did not work.

The strange thing is that this noise is pretty faint, but unmistakable... however if I move my head forward (say, right in line with the steering wheel) 2 feet.... I barely hear it. But when I move back to the normal driving position, there it is.

Toyota - Camry :: Audio System - How To Play MP3 Music

How do you play your mp3 music? I just spoke to a Toyota rep, he was rude, he was telling me my flash drive is not compatible with toyota audio. He said I need to buy 8GB flash drive anything else will not work and I CAN'T use folders. "All this information is listed in your owner's manual" ...

I think the current audio system is a big step back, its limitation reminds me of the $9.99 mp3 players. I was always able to use a 32GB stick, put my songs in folders, or at least be able to select the songs from a playlist. And when I started my your car again, the system would still remember my playlist. I did not have to wait 5 minutes for "gathering information" every time and than spend another 5 minutes looking for the album or composer I want to listen to.

Camry :: 2007 LE - Humming Noise From Rear End That Increases And Decreases With Vehicle Speed

2007 Camry LE 2.4

I just replaced the rear pads and rotors with no issues other than having to bang the cr@p out of the left rotor with a hammer to get it to come off. Now at pretty much all speeds I am hearing a rythmic humming-type sound that increases and decreases with vehicle speed. It's not a constant hum but more like one-hum-per-tire-revolution type of sound. It is coming from the left side as far as I can tell.

Thinking I had damaged the wheel bearing (and after searching the forums extensively) I replaced it with a brand new bearing from Advance Auto Parts. I re-checked the pads, rotors, all bolts, everything is lubricated properly, etc. Just took it out for a test drive and the noise is still there. Sometimes it gets louder when breaking but not always. I rotated tires and the sound did not follow the tire. The pads aren't stuck or rubbing excessively as far as I can tell.

This sort of thing has happened in the past on the left rear. It would sometimes happen when I swapped the summer tires for my winter tires on steelies, the left rear would make the humming sound, I'd take the wheel off and put it back on 180 degrees rotated and the sound would go away. I've done that a few times too and it has not worked.

Toyota - Camry :: Car Shakes / Wheels Vibrating All The Time

I bought a used Toyota Camry 2012. It has 40,000 miles on it now, The car shakes all the time. It feels like the front wheels are vibrating, and the suspension is bouncing all the time. At slow speeds, and it gets worse at faster speeds. All I can say is that it is very uncomfortable drive. When I bought the car a year ago it had a very luxurious ride. Now it feels like there is something very wrong. Enough wrong so that I do not even want to drive it anymore. I have taken it to 4 different Toyota dealers, and one private mechanic. All say that there is nothing wrong with the car.
