Avalon 2005-12 :: IPod Interface Kit - Either IPod Or Sat Radio Can Be Installed Not Both
Can use the iPod Interface Kit for my 2005 Avalon? It states "Either iPod or Sat Radio can be installed, not both". I do have the JBL Audio system but don't have the Satellite radio. It also mentions it works with the 2007 Avalon, aren't they pretty much the same, 2005-2007? URL...
View 11 RepliesPrius (Gen 3) :: Cannot Recognize When IPod 2 Connected
Loving the car, but I'm having an issue trying to get an older iPod (like iPod 2) to connect to my car. It keeps saying it can't recognize/connect to it. The iPod just continues to charge (even though it was just completely charged). I'm plugging it in using the USB inside of the console.

Golf/GTI VI :: Leaving IPod Connected To The MDI
Is it okay to always leave my iPod connected to the MDI? I ask because I noticed it continues to charge my iPod even when the car is off. I don't want to hurt the battery if I leave my iPod connected 24/7. On the other hand, it would be a lot more convenient to leave it plugged in all the time.
View 3 RepliesPrius V (Audio/Electronics) :: Keeping IPod Connected With Entune?
I've been having a few problems with keeping my ipod connected with Entune. I was working fine but lately the ipod screen keeps saying loading. Then when I switch to another source like FM, then back to Ipod, I also get a "Function not available" screen. The only thing that has fixes this is to hard reboot my ipod, and turn off the car and restart.
View 1 RepliesLexus GS 2013+ :: Screen Don't Load Up The Songs When Connected To IPod
I literally just picked up my 2013 GS 350 at the auction.
Right when I drove off with it, I plugged in my Iphone 5 and selected the ipod menu, and it loaded up all the music on my iphone. After some fiddling I got the bluetooth to work nice as well.
Then later in the day I plugged my Iphone in after work, and noticed that when I selected the "Ipod" on the audio menu, the screen where the songs are supposed to populate doesn't load up the songs. The screen is just blank, as if there was no ipod connected.

View 10 RepliesGen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2010 Wire To Install External Display IPod Adapter?
I want to install an external display ipod adapter (Kenwood KOS-A300) in my 2010 Prius IV, but in reading the manual I see that the power wiring for this device requires 3 connections - Ground, Ignition, and Battery (it also has a dimmer control wire, but I am hoping that one can be left disconnected).
I haven't come across an accessory like this before - usually they just need 12v and ground and in these cases I just tap into the wiring for a 12v accessory power outlet to get these connections. My recollection in this car is that the accessory power outlets are switched (either with ignition "on" or accessory "on"), and they turn off when the car is shut down.
Is there a convenient location inside the vehicle where I can connect a wire that is always hot with 12 volts?

View 1 RepliesCorolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Radio Was Not Connected To The Battery
I recently got my corolla (2009) repaired and the technician said that the radio was not connected to the battery for about two weeks. Now the radio (even the backlight) won't turn on regardless of any buttons I press. All the fuses have been checked and are fine. Could this be some anti-theft mode in which something must be done to turn it back on.
View 1 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: Bluetooth Appears Connected But Can't Switch To Radio
Have non-Nav system. The "nav" display works OK, I can get into climate control, Info, Setting, etc. When I turn on the car, message comes up that Bluetooth is connected. But I can't switch to radio or CD and can't control it from a steering wheel either.
I checked all the fuses - all ok. Took the whole unit out of the dashboard, checked all the wire harness connectors in the back - all good. Also, disconnected Vaistech SLS and VML, just to make sure - still audio is off.
Why I can't turn the audio back on
Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: USB To Radio Via IPod Jack?
I use an USB drive with my other radios. Is there a way to get an adapter to allow a USB drive to talk to the Prius radio, without going the IPOD route? Don't have an IPOD but plenty of USB's with music...
View 1 RepliesLexus GS 2006-11 :: Radio Isn't Reading Or Getting A Signal From VAIS IVIC Or IPOD Hookup
The VML I had in the car stopped working for no reason a while back and I figured that the unit may have gone bad since it was used before I got it. I checked all the connections first and figured it must be dead.
So then I ordered the iVIC-5i and hooked everything up and when I went to program the unit nothing happens on the screen. Like the radio isn't reading or getting a signal from that input or something now. The unit has power to it, the green and or yellow LEDs are on depending which way the switches are pointed but nothing happens on the screen. I called VAIS and after being on the phone with the tech support for 30-40 minutes they figured the unit was defective and sent me another one, and that's doing the same thing.
So I'm wondering what in the world could have happened since it used to work? Is there some setting in the radio that I can't find to turn on that input, or a fuse?

Pontiac - Grandam :: 2004 Won't Start After Radio Install
I have A 2004 Pontiac grand am and am trying to install a non factory stereo. The previous owner cut the adapter wires to the original radio and had them taped together so I had to wire the new CD player directly to my car and run an ACC wire to the fuse box. Well now after I have done this my blinkers don't work nor do my wipers and my car won't start.
View 17 RepliesAlero :: 2010 Won't Start And No Dash Lights After Radio Install
I just installed an aftermarket stereo in my 2001 Alero. I did not use a wiring harness, but I just cut the old harness out. (probably a bad idea!) I did NOT disconnect the battery when I installed it.
1. I did not know where to put the radio ignition wire for the stereo (the ACC wire) (it was orange in my case). It looks like this car does not have one? I ended up just plugging the radio's ignition wire into the constant hot so the radio is always on.
2. After hooking everything up, the car does not start, it turns over for about 2 seconds, then it quits. Also, the instrument panel lights are not coming on. Everything else seems to work OK, interior lights, etc. I checked the fuses IPC/HVAC BATT and IPC/BFC ACC and they are not blown. My guess is that I did not wire the ACC part correctly...
What did I do wrong? I hope it isn't some complicated anti-theft mechanism.
