Touareg :: Whining Noise Related To Stepper / Differential Control Module
I had the differential control module recall/flash performed last week and now the car makes a whining noise at speeds north of 35mph. The noise seems to emanate from the front of the car (near the radiator). The dealer was able to hear the sound -- and unable to diagnose the problem. They reflashed the stepper -- and the noise remained.
They moved the stepper motor, drove the car -- and the noise remained. Finally, they put the stepper back in -- reflashed it -- and then the noise went away. Subsequently, I drove the car noise-free for about 250 miles (over several days) -- and then the noise came back. I'm also having the same problem that others report about the tight-radius binding when turning (which the flash was supposed to solve).
questions:
1) any experience of whining noise after the flash recall
2) i see that some had the stepper motor replaced...what was the underlying reason?
3) it seems that the stepper is the problem -- but could it really be the differential that's not keeping the right ratios?
Celica :: 91 ST Motor Replaced - Headlights Out / No Low Beams
I have had my 91 ST for about 6 years. Bought it with 55k miles on it and the motor blew up on me at 165k. I had the motor replaced and when I got it back one of the headlights was out (low beams). I replaced that and got nothing, replaced the other one and still nothing. Even tried swapping bulbs around and no luck. Checked fuses and all look fine.
Talking with my mechanic who did the engine work about this and he started thinking it might be the dimmer switch. I ended up getting one and replaced it, moving one wire at a time off the old one to the wiring connector. Got done and nothing still. Now my Hi-beam indicator doesn't come on either. He is looking at this again and thinks the switch might be bad but can't confirm the wiring either. The diagram he has from work shows all the wires being different colors from any of the wires in the connector, even from other pieces.
Looking for any diagram that would tell us what wire pins from the dimmer switch and other parts of the combination switch go into the connector block under the steering column.
I really need this car back soon. Having to drive my Silverado 1500 crew cab to work and that is a 90 mile round trip every day. Want my 35+mpg Celica back.
Alero :: 2000 - Blower Motor Resistor Replaced
2000 Alero. Wife reported to me she had no blower motor. I pulled the motor and it tested good. Next I replaced the resistor with one from auto zone. Now I have blower in all but the 5th and highest position. I suspect a bad new resistor but I left it for now because it's a pain to remove.
Could I have got a bad resistor? In my experience a bad resistor will give you high and nothing else.

A few weeks ago my battery died and I had to jump start my car. After the jump start, my heat wasn't working - no air will blow out on heat or A/C. I checked the fuses - all good.
I pulled the blower motor out and tested it and it worked hooked up to a battery. At one point when the blower motor was still in the car I banged it with a hammer and it turned on momentarily then shut off again.
Since the blower motor seemed to work outside of the car, I assumed it was the resistor that was bad. Replaced , and still no heat.
Could the blower motor be bad and just have worked hooked to a battery intermittently?
What else could it be?

After the recirculation motor being replaced on the air con either coincidence or not the hazards are not working, had read somewhere can be a pinched wire behind the infotainment. I have found the main fuses in the cabin but no detail card.

I have a 2004 4-cylinder Camry. Saturday I changed the passenger side motor mount which was broken and the front motor mount, which did not appear to be broken, but there was more play in it than in the replacement. I had to take the battery out and the air intake in order to have enough room to remove the front mount. To remove the front mount, I jacked up the engine with a 2 X 4 underneath the oil pan so as not to damage it. The passenger side wheel rose several inches off the ground. After everything was back together, the car ran rough at first but eventually got better. The only symptom that remains is a noise and slight vibration when the car is in drive. In neutral and all other gears there’s no noise or vibration. They noise seems to be slightly less when the car starts to roll, and after a few seconds in motion, I can’t hear it. What’s causing the noise? If there a third motor mount that I may need to replace?

I have an '05 Dodge Neon SXT (4.0) with 113,000 miles on it. A few days ago, I had three cracked motor mounts replaced. However, I'm experiencing an increased amount of vibration when the engine is idle. I've had the timing belt , the accessory belt, water pump and valve replaced within the last year. I also recently had a coolant flush and an oil change. I was told that the timing belt cover is broken and I intend to have that fixed in the near future. However, I do not believe the timing belt cover is the cause of the vibration since it was broken and did not cause vibration before the motor mounts were replaced. Why I having the vibration?

The problem I had started 2 months ago. Wipers froze to windshield and I didn't get it loose enough so I turned wipers on it moved and then stopped, figured just frozen,.. but once I got it all loose she didn't work. Tested everything
When I was pulling the motor I noticed it was kinda working when moving around.. but I replaced motor I found out testing with the new motor that tiny ground wire was shorted out. I guess it burned somewhere, as when I ran a wire from the motor to a bolt. It worked. Motor did work slow.
But I was driving other day and wanted to use wipers boom not working. I just pulled it off. Motor doesn't seem to be working but the delay is working I run a meter to the battery and then to the 1 wire on the harness and she trips on and off the 12 volts. So I guessing the motor is burned out. And that thin ground wire has no ground to it so I'm sure it blew before the 25 amp breaker will ever break
Ford F-150 (2009-2014) :: Blower Motor Resistor Replaced - Fan Completely Shuts Down On High Speed
I replaced the blower motor resistor on a 2010 F150 with dual climate control where the blower was stuck on high.
After replacing the resistor, now the lower speeds work fine, but when placed on high speed, the fan completely shuts down. Replace with the old resistor, and it only runs on high.
How to proceed, or what else might be the problem?
Touareg :: 2004 - Replaced Everything But Still Car Won't Start
Well I have a 2004 Gremlin that has gone through all the fixes (alternator cable, battery, even replaced some control module) go into car and won't turn over nothing.
See reports to reset the yellow battery isolation switch. Where the hell is this? What carpet do you remove? I tried to find it and no luck. There are those two panels on the floor (one on right side of chair and one on left corner) but those apparently are to access the battery tilt the chair back.
Touareg :: Replaced Hydraulic Unit - Car Won't Start
Recently died hydraulic unit and replace it with a new one. After that cars no longer be got, when you turn the key click retractor once and everything goes out. new battery has recently changed, the starter works too shot him believe the wiring under the feet and weight checked all normal.
Struck by errors and erased them, still will not start.
Touareg :: Replaced 2 Out Of 4 Tires Resulted In Clunk Noise From Under Vehicle?
I recently replaced the 2 rear Pirelli 19"s on the back with Michelin Diamaris 4x4. I left the slightly worn 2 front Pirellis on thinking NO big deal. WRONG! By not replacing all 4 tires at the same time I noticed a "clunking" noise coming from under the vehicle while under 20mph.
After trouble shooting at 2 different dealerships the second one concluded that I need 2 new front tires. At first they thought that the left front drive shaft was bad but after installing a new one "clunk" was still there. Dealer removed 4 wheels/tires from a new Touareg and placed them on my '04 and "clunk" went away. My '04 has the 4 corner air suspension and locking differentials as well.
Touareg :: Alarm Replaced - No Longer Chirp But High Pitched Very Loud Beep
I recently had to have e my alarm replaced on the car and after i left the dealer i parked and locked the car and came to notice that the chirp is no longer a chirp but a high pitched very loud beep that lasts longer than the previous chirp. The odd thing is that when i activate the alarm it sounds exactly as it should. I contact the dealer and asked if they gave me the right alarm and assured me that it is right and properly installed. What is going on??

1400 miles now and loving it. When I open the driver's side door, I hear a motor sound not too dissimilar to the sound the seat makes when I insert the key. The sound lasts about three seconds. I was wondering what this sound is.

Started getting a noise a few minutes after startup. I can hear it click on and then it sounds like a loud electric motor/pump/fan type noise. Starts pretty loud, then gets quieter (but not gone) after 30 secs. If I turn off the engine, it stops and if I immediately restart, it's gone for a couple minutes.

I have a very common issue with the maf sensor, im in a turbo setup, cel is on due to a maf code, order a brand new bosch maf from ecs, install it in my 4inch maf housing and clear the codes. start the car, and the car does not like the new maf, if i rev it, rpm's drop too much making the car to cuts off, unplug the maf, cel back on as well traction light, car runs good but lean,
And also I do have a code for air intake temperature sensor, and since I am turbo I dont have a ait sensor in my tip, how to handle this? what sensor should i use? cuz i went to the local dealer and they try to sell me the accordion pipe and they told me that the sensor is in there how to with this sensor?
Is this the reason why my car doesn't like the maf? because I don't have the other sensor? or is because my cone filter is dirty? When I plug the maf the car feels like the engine sounds better, but doesn't stay on, if i unplugged the car runs good but fuel consumption is horrible

I have a 07 gs430 front caliper bolt strip and the caliper nut strip. What can I do? the bolt a 12mm 1.25 ,the tread is strip bad.. can I replace that part..? the nut on the caliper?
