i honestly do not know how to describe this one...sounds like a clickity-clack or something...very peculiar...always when i start the car and idling...or even stopped...i cannot tell if its constant because of music and the engine noise <shrug> ?

I have a 99 B5 which my wife drives most of the time - it has just passed the 150k miles and owes me nothing. But it has recently developed an annoying clicking noise coming from the passenger's side somewhere around or behind the glovebox. I have emptied out the glovebox and tried turning off the climatronic and the stereo but cannot locate it.

We have a 2004 Excursion limited edition with 6.0 diesel. This is a recent purchase for our family. This is our first ever Ford and our first ever Diesel.
Now that we are transitioning into colder weather, we recently tried to place the air from AC to Heater. When we tried, we noticed a clicking or hitting noise from the passenger side behind the glove box. When we stopped the air, the noise stopped. When we kept it on the AC, it stopped. Last night we tried to replicate the issue to get more info and we saw that now its stuck on heater and we lost the AC cold air. The module that is making noise is behind the glove box. It is not coming from the actuator that moves air from the feet to the vents, but it is to the right of the actuator and has a plug with about 4 cables plugged into it.
Questions:
What is this module so that I can order a new one?
Does this sound like a bad HVAC blend door actuator? (not trying to steer it that way if its not.)
Any videos on how to replace it? I only see one bolt that mounts it and it appears to be about 8 mm. Is that the only thing holding it?
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Noise Like Telegraph Clicking In Random Intervals Behind Glovebox?
So I started hearing a noise that sounded like a telegraph clicking in random intervals. Some days, no sound while others I thought I was an old Western Union Office. Now the sound has progressed into a sound that almost sounds like a small compressor. It sounds at each start up and then at different points during the drive. I have traced it back to this device. It sits to the left of the Air return behind the glovebox. I have two pics to illustrate. It is the black box with a small wiring harness plugges into the top. On the left side there is a cylindrical white piece that is part of this device. Everything in my car works so not sure what this thing does. It looks like a royal pain to get out as one of the bracket screws is down in the back so that screw will be tough to get to without dropping the blower housing. That may require pulling more things like the dash when they replaced the evaprator.

I've successfully managed to ignore the clicking noise coming from the vent system long enough that it eventually went away but I now have no air coming out from the footwell area on both the driver and passenger side. I am guessing that the diverter flap mechanism has either simply broken or is mechanically frozen in a certain position.
The air flow to the dash and defrost vents is fine. If I manually set the system to have all air come from the lower vents, there is a loud wind noise as the air is trying to force its way around a closed flap. Is this an easy fix or another expensive and problematic trip to the dealer?
Golf IV R32 :: Ticking Noise Coming From Behind Center Console Radio Glovebox Area
I have a mk4 R32 74k miles on it ... I recently brought the car to the dealer and I will never do it again !!! Never had any problems until now .. I brought it in for the radio and they diagnose the problem so they ordered me a new radio that's all they looked at and it's the only time it ever went into the dealership .. Today I start the car and I have a ticking noise coming from behind the center console radio glovebox area and I can't figure it out ?? I thought it was vibration from the motor so I gave it a little gas in neutral nothing ?? I turned the radio on and off still have the noise ? Turned on an off the climate control still have the noise ?? Don't know what it is ? Friends say it sounds like a relay that's coming on and off ??

So this morning I replaced my puddle lights with some leds. After a pretty simple install I was driving around and notice one of my mirrors vibrating so I reached out to pop it into place and noticed that my mirrors are hot (not from the sun but def the heating element).. Could have done anything diluting the process of changing the puddle lamps to make it where these heaters stay on all the time. For all that I know they could have been on all the time even prior to the install as I don't touch the mirror very often.

My car has a bad whistle sound from the sidemirrors if I travel at over 40mph, I heard someone else had the same problem and the dealer fixed it but putting something on the mirror.... is there a TSB on this? I'm going to the dealership next week and i would like to see if he can fix it. List of things I have.
- Sometimes when i enter my car and start, my seats don't move back to the previous setting....... I had to hit "1" to get it to move back. it fails 3 out of 10 tries.
- Wind noise from the side mirrors, especially when over 40mph..... whistling sound.
- dash vibration when the weather is cold.... Not sure about this one.
- See if the dealer will turn off my DRL for me.

I am installing a dvd player in the glovebox and need to screw it to the bottom of the glovebox shelf... would be much easier if I could remove the shelf to screw to it. I have an '04 V10 and most mornings, particularly when it's cold, I hear a clicking sound coming from what sounds like behind the radio. It sounds like a relay clicking on and off or a muted turn signal. It lasts for about 15 minutes. It has no relationship to RPM and cycles about once a second, maybe slightly faster.
I am bringing it in for its 10,000 mile service. I have had no driveability issues and no check engine lights, although I have not hooked up a Vag to check for codes.

For the first 10 or 15 minutes after starting the truck I hear a clicking noise under the hood about 1 or 2 clicks per second. It's kind of a mechanical sound, maybe like a pump working. Could this be the Webasto heater working?

Just lately, I noticed a buzzing noise emanating from the glovebox when my car starts up. It goes away probably in 20 secs or so, and it's very pronounced when the outside temp is hot. When I was replacing my cabin filter, I found the source of the buzz. It's black box below the cabin air filter, to the right, with a 6-pin (?) molex. What this part is? See attached pic for identification.
