Ford - Thunderbird :: 2003 - Electric Fan Is Very Noisy
My electric fan is very noisy and it didn't used to be, and my car is running very hot. Is there any relationship between the two?
View 13 RepliesPhaeton :: Noisy Steering Wheel / Electric Motor Began To Rumble
The electric motor which adjusts the steering wheel position has begun to "rumble"--When I enter the car (keyless entry) and the wheel begins to assume it's pre-set position, a loud grumbling noise occurs. If I then use the switch to readjust the position, I again hear the noise. Is there a way to lubricate the steering wheel (WD-40?) without causing other problems?

I purchased a new 2007 Touareg. At speeds above 80 km/hr, the car is noisy... Is that the norm?
View 2 RepliesTouareg :: Won't Start - All Electric Shutdown?
After parking my car last night, this morning the key wouldn't work. So I manually opened the car door, and try to start the car. Nothing came on, even the clock. And now the key is stuck in the ignition.
It cant be the battery, because I think it should at least have enough juice to turn the light on.
Touareg :: Electric Consumers Shut Off
Well, I will be taking the Touareg in for at least the 3rd time regarding this problem. The first time they told me it was a bad battery, so they replaced that. They also gave me a new battery last year, so I am on #3 now. I specifically asked if it was the alternator cable as my voltmeter had been reading anywhere between 12.5 and 14. They said it was just the battery but did keep it an extra night just to be sure the service manager could take a look at it to verify.
The second time I took it in they reset some electrical and reprogrammed some module...I don't have the ticket in front of me.... Again I asked about the alternator cable and again they told me now.
Well, for the past week or so the consumers have been shutting off almost daily. My wife normally drives the car but today I was out in it and it happened twice to me. It seems like it happens more so when it is cold, but I might just be crazy.
I am going to take it in. Is there anything else might be, other than an alternator cable. I truly love this car, and when I look at any other SUV, except Range Rover (can't afford one), I fully believe that the Touareg is better in every aspect, with fit and finish better than any other. This electric consumer thing is starting to get a little obnoxious though.
Touareg :: Tires Have Become Extremely Noisy
I still have the original Pirelli Scorpion tires on my 2010 Touareg (30,100 Miles). For the last year or so the tires have become extremely noisy. Before the warranty expired I made the dealer check to make sure there is nothing wrong with the wheel bearings or the drive train and of course they told me everything is fine. I had an alignment done about 3,000 Miles ago since the tires showed a little uneven wear.
View 2 RepliesTouareg :: Noisy Vibration Around 2500 Rpm In 2nd And 3rd When Accelerating
I test drove an 08 VR6 Touareg 2 this evening. Felt quite nice though I even with the upgraded V6, I found myself stomping on the gas on the freeway to overtake compared to my 05 V8.
Anyway, what I wanted to post about was a vibration type noise occuring just around 2500rpm in 2nd and 3rd (and possibly others) when accelerating. At first, I thought it might be something in the muffler, but I wound down the windows and it didn't seem to be coming from the outside.
Note that the sound was not any kind of throaty roar - it sounded like something was loose/vibrating. Hopefully this is limited to the particular example that I drove?
Touareg :: Noisy Windshield Wipers / Binding When Turning
I just bought a used 2004 Touareg. I think I got a great deal.
I have noticed the noisy windshield wipers, the condensation on the windshield, minor binding problems when turning, and some hesitation/jumpiness in the throttle. I talked to a dealer today and they said if I had a list of things to fix, they could do it in a day.
Touareg :: 2016 V6 - Electric Parking Brake Engaging Automatically?
Just got a 2016 V6 Lux. I have a question cerning the electric parking brake.
I noticed that at times when I slowly park into a parking space with an obstacle (such as a wall or another car in front), the electric parking brake would engage automatically. Is this an issue or a feature?
To me, this is annoying since sometimes the electric parking brake would engage when I am not ready to fully stop the car yet (need to park further in). It seems that it is related to the parking sensors.
Touareg :: Loud Electric Thud Sound When Lock / Unlock The Doors
I took my 2005 V6 'Reg into the dealership for service. It has about 6700 miles. The problem is it sounds like the amp is 'clipping', which means there is a loud electric 'thud' sound when I lock/unlock the doors. While there I asked the service advisor to do all applicable TSBs and informed her that sometimes the CD player won't eject the CD. Lastly, I advised them that the wipers made a really loud sound when they wipe.
Well, this dealership does not have loaner cars available. They have outsourced them to Enterprise Rent-A-Car. The dealership will pay $30 per day and I am responsible for the taxes, which are 15% of the $30 per day. Is this fair? I don't think I should be responsible for paying taxes for a rental car (a Mitsu Lancer or VW Jetta were my two choices, no less).
Touareg :: Electric Motor Or Fan Type Noise Coming From Front Driver Side
Started getting a noise a few minutes after startup. I can hear it click on and then it sounds like a loud electric motor/pump/fan type noise. Starts pretty loud, then gets quieter (but not gone) after 30 secs. If I turn off the engine, it stops and if I immediately restart, it's gone for a couple minutes.

View 4 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Electric Fan Not Kicking In
I just got this project running recently (replaced head after timing belt failure) and on the first night I got it running I noticed the electric fan was not kicking in (belt driven fan works fine). Investigated a bit and found the fan was some what seized. I was able to work it free quite easily so I chalked it up to corrosion from sitting.
fired it back up and let her get to operating temp and once again no fan. checked and it spins freely but never comes on. I did some checking and I (visually) cant find the plug, fan switch, or any fuses that deal with it... So I checked the bentley and it talks about a couple relays that have to do with it, but no fuses (at least that Ive found so far). Before I start tearing into wiring diagrams in the back of the bentley, I'm hoping some of y'all might have some input for me. Maybe some common faults, where to look, etc...
Car is a 2000 Passat 1.8T auto. Just had the head swapped due to TB failure which included waterpump, thermostat, fresh coolant, and all new belts.
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Car Becomes Very Noisy From 25 MPH And Up
My car becomes very noisy from 25 mph and up. The faster I go, the noisier it is. At least I know it's not from the engine. What would make a lexus roar like a big truck in the cabin?
View 14 RepliesCorolla :: Noisy Over 70 MPH And Really Loud At 80 - 85
My Mom bought this automatic 1999 Corolla new. It has lived in Florida and has now taken up residence in Canada, Ontario. It has 38,500 miles on it,mostly driven at under 70miles per hour. As I drove this car to Canada, I noticed that it became noisy over 70mph and really noisy at 80-85. The noise remained the same from about 80 to 95mph. Putting it in neutral in the Tennessee hills it was much quieter coasting down the hills at high speed. It is not a wheel bearing, alignment or tire problem. The noise seems to be coming from the engine area. I don't understand why it is quiet up to 70? Exhaust ? Transmission? I Will have a mechanic look at it but I have had numerous misdiagnosis over the years.
View 1 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: A/C Sounded A Little Noisy
Took my car in (2011 Golf Base 2dr 5spd) for it's 10k mile oil change and checkup and mentioned that the A/C sounded a little noisy, kind of like a whine, every so often. It didn't really bother me but my wife would complain about it. The air was ice cold and I just figured maybe it was normal. Well I got a call from the service advisor and he said the noise was due to an internal failure and they were going to replace the compressor. I sure was surprised. Got the car back and the A/C is just as cold and is now nice and quiet.
So if your A/C is even slightly noisy I would bring it up. Could save yourself having to replace a costly compressor down the road.
Tiguan :: Seems Like Car Have Noisy Hydraulics
When I hit the brakes from a higher speed, say 40 mph+, they make a noise. It's the type of noise I would expect to hear along with a shudder, almost like ABS kicking in. It's just the noise though. No shudder, the brakes feel fine, no lights on the dash, nothing. It's a 2011 CPO with 31K miles.
View 2 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Front End Seems Noisy
First off it's NOT the strut mounts or bearings. I just wasted a bunch of money installing new ones. Hard to tell if the noise is only on the driverside, but its not just at low speeds. Kind of a clunking during up/down movement.
