Passat (B5) :: While Making Long Turn At 40 Mph Engine Cut Out - Wheel Slippage Light Comes On
We have already dumped $800 into this problem at the dealership. I should have just come here, to begin with. Here's what happens. When we make a long turn at around 40 mph the engine will cut out and the wheel slippage light comes on. The wheels are not slipping and this only occurs during long slow turns. Very odd... The dealership has no idea and has already ripped me off once.

I've got a 95 Aero 4.0 awd. I've just replaced the power steering pump with a cardone. Wished I didn't cause of the noise but afterwards the steering feels like it's in a bind when turning to the left. It may have been doing it before, the cv axles were shot when i bought her. I'm suspecting the rack is going bad. How hard is it to replace it on the awd?

Something is snapping/clunk in 4 wheel about every 20-100' driven on the left side. Slightly notice it in 2 wheel but 4 it's loud and you can feel the clunk. It's almost like when you feel the transfer case bind up, yet feels like it's right in the left side, up front. Yes I have to put new tires and rotors up front, upper and lower ball joints and inner tie rod on the right side. U joint in front drive lines feel solid.

The other day I hit a good size bump at speed, slightly bent a wheel which I didn't even notice at first. The car drove straight and had no other symptoms, thought everything was okay. I've been experiencing a weird problem lately when accelerating from a stop and heading around a gradual curve while accelerating. Basically what happens is, I will be well into the gradual turn when suddenly the car oversteers in the direction of the turn. it's a bit scary, almost like the car is starting to slide, but it's just a quick moment of oversteer and then it corrects itself.
I figure it's something to do with the 4 motion and although I wouldn't call it unsafe it's certainly a bit of a shock to the system.

I have a 2006 with 106K miles. Noticed after making a sharp left turn in a parking lot that the Red Triangle came on along with a beep and the message, "Problem" on the touch screen. Golf V R32 :: Clunk Sound When Reversing Into Parking Spot And Making Left Sharp Turn
I've had my R since late mid-summer, and one of the first things I noticed was this clunk sound when reversing into my parking spot and when making an aggressive sharp turn. Usually Left.
After reading multiple threads on this topic, I came to the conclusion that it was my sub-frame and the bolts need replacing. I got in a GB for the tyrol subframe stiffening kit after reading some good reviews/responses.
Today, on my day off, I finally went to a mechanic to get this installed. I just changed my mechanic, and this was my first visit to the guy hes had over 10 years experience at vw and just opened up his own shop. He did a great job, torqued the bolts to spec, made me drive around, do some pulls in 2nd and 3rd gear, reverse forward etc.
So hes about to pull the car back in to retorque and.... CLUNK...
Get in the car, reproduce the sound, get the car back up on the hoist... and at this point I'm expecting the worse. He takes my control arms off, checks the end links...
Brings the car down, and the clunking sound is louder than ever. It was the weathergaurd. When I turned on the wheel it was pulling it out and when I straightened the wheel it was popping it back into place, making a big clunk sound.
This was the exact sound that I was hearing, thinking it was my subframe. The bolts that came out were not stretched or bent out of shape like the ones you see in other reviews. They're actually in great shape. I'm glad I did the Tyrol kit and do not regret it, and I definitely feel a difference when I went into some aggressive turns.
Dodge - Neon :: 2002 - Knock Sound From Underneath On Making Left Hand Turn
My Neon has this strange problem and I can't figure it out neither can my mechanic. Mainly when I'm making a left hand turn there is a knock sound underneath the car, like I can almost feel something jerking up underneath my pedals. And then after making the left hand turn and then accelerating... my car would almost feel like it was stuck to the left and jerk itself straight again.
NOTE: I have replaced/checked the Lateral and Radius Bushings, Control Arm Bushings, Sway Bar and I also recently got new rims and tires which at that point I got an alignment. But nothing has worked so far and I'm at a loss.
Honda - Accord :: 2013 - Power Steering Quit Working While Making A Left Or Right Turn From A Stop
I have a 2013 Honda Accord that 3 times over the last 30 days the power steering has quit working while making a left or right turn from a stop. Once I muscle the car out of the intersection, I can turn it off and then restart the engine which seems to reset the steering. All 3 times I have taken it back to the Honda service center of the dealer where I purchased it, and all 3 times they can find absolutely nothing wrong with it.
Honda's policy is that they won't fix/replace anything unless they have a direct problem to fix. This is getting frustrating because I consider it a safety issue. Now I don't know what to do. They refuse to do anything until they can see the car with the issue. If it ever happens at a time when I can leave it running and have them send a tow truck to pick it up, I will. But that could take months, years or never.
Touareg :: Front Is Sliding And Making Noise When Turn The Wheel In Cold Weather
In the morning (especially when very cold outside) when I back up my car out of the driveway and then put it in D, turn the steering wheel 85% it sounds and feels like the front is "sliding" and making a little noise. It will only do this the first time I turn the wheel when the car is cold. It does not happen when the car has been driven. Is this normal? is it the drivetrain? The car drives great otherwise and there have been no apparent issues.

I have a problem with my VW Touareg 05 plate. When I turn the steering wheel full lock left or right in tight places the car shudders. It doesn't do it all the time but does appear to be getting worse as time goes on. I have been told that it may well be the Stepper motor.
