Tiguan :: 2011 - Unlock All Doors Feature Intermittent
Is there a trick to getting the feature to unlock all doors when you stop and take the key out to work - mine works intermittent and I have to go back into the menus and turn it back on...
this is on 2011 Tiguan SE 4 motion (Nav and Sunroof)
Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Intermittent Stall At Start Up Only When Engine Is Warm
I have a 06 Passat with a V6 with 80K on it. Recently I have been getting intermittent stalling at start up, only when the engine is warm(but once on a really hot day). The car will rev slightly and stall. After several attempts, it will start, and then it runs fine. VW service said no error codes and didn't offer much more.
View 10 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: 2000 GLX - Intermittent Start And Stall / Pending Code P0321
My wife drove the car to work, and it ran good. She got a check engine light, but it was not on when I got home from work. I started the car and it idled fine for a couple of minutes and then it stalled. I check the codes and there was nothing locked in. There was a pending coding P0321. I am not sure what a pending code is, but I assume not enough to trigger the check engine light.
After work each night this week I tried troubleshooting but I have not gotten anything accomplished. Each night the car would start fine but if I turned it off it would not start until many tries if at all. It turns over strong but won't start. I drove it around the neighborhood today and it stalled and wouldn't restart.
The fuel pump primes. When the car won't start the fuel pump relay clicks constantly. Is this normal? I replaced the fuel filter because it has been 50k miles. Is the crank shaft sensor the problem? I hate to throw money at parts that aren't the problem when I can't get a code to trip the check engine light.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Intermittent Stall When Driving / Won't Start For 30 Minutes
I've been having an intermittent stall-out problem with my 2003 F250 5.4L (160k miles). The truck has been retired from DD to farm duty, hauling, and towing only. Over the past 9 months, the truck has stalled-out on me 3x while driving. I will be driving along sometimes at highway speed, sometime slower, and everything will die: no PS, lights go on all over the dashboard. It will not restart right away. I have to wait at least 20-30min to restart it and then everything is fine for several weeks and hundreds of miles.
There are no codes and I have been unable for reproduce it/cause it to happen purposely. My mechanic has changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor, and checked the fuel rail pressures. I also checked all the harnesses and fuses, cleaned the battery terminals, looked for vacuum leaks, and gave it a good look-over. The following are new: battery, IAC valve, fuel filter. After searching the forum I also pulled the fuse box and examined the integral fuel pump relay: it and the board looked perfect, no bulges, cracks, discoloration, etc.
My mechanic thinks this is more likely an ignition problem than a fuel delivery problem.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 4x4 V10 - Intermittent No Start / Complete Stall While Driving
1999 F250 SD Ex 4x4 V10 has been intermittently not starting, both cold and warm, began last fall but only happened once a month or so or longer. Would then start after trying again either right away or after waiting a bit. Now it is doing it on a regular basis. Sometimes it will start right away, sometimes won't but if you keep trying or wait awhile it starts, sometimes using the extra key will start it right away after the first one didn't, sometimes neither one. It does not try to turn over, make any noises, no warning lights flashing, just won't start.
Now also on two occasions within the past week, it just stopped while driving. Radio, dash lights, etc., stayed on. I got it to the side of the road with the little power steering left where it started up again right away.
No codes showed up. First mechanic couldn't find anything obvious or replicate problem. Changed air and fuel filters (fuel filter really needed changed), plugs. Got truck back and it wouldn't start next morning. He checked it again and got a code related to ignition, tried the spare key and it started up. Truck back home, next day same problem.
Mechanic 2 checked, no codes, kept several days but, of course, couldn't replicate problem. I'm not even sure what all they checked, used to be an excellent repair place but now they seem to only really on diagnostics and throw up their hands, very disappointing. Replaced solenoid and starter last year myself. Otherwise, have had no problems until this.
Tiguan :: 2009 - Intermittent Start / Engine Shuts Off
I've got an intermittent issue with a 2009 Tiguan. Sometimes when starting (engine either warm or cold) almost as soon as letting go of the key, the engine will shut off. Multiple attempts to get it started result in the same issue, then for some reason it will start and run. There does not seem to be a pattern as to when it doesn't start.
The first time the dealer replaced the fuel pump control module, then when it happened again they said it was the fuel filter. It has now happened a third time.
Golf V R32 :: Hesitation On Acceleration And Occasional Stall
My "pride and joy", is sitting at the dealership. The car has been hesitating on acceleration, occasional it would also stall. According, to the dealership a faulty gas tank is the culprit. The tank has been ordered. Hopefully, i"ll have the car back in two weeks. What parts were replaced, to fix the problem??
View 24 RepliesFord - E350 :: Occasional Stall That Occurs When Engine Is Warm And Slowing To A Stop
I have problem with an occasional stall that occurs when the engine is warm and slowing to a stop. I have a 1994 fuel injected E-350 460ci motor home. The engine runs great 90% of the time. When cold or sitting the vehicle will start and idle great. After warming up 5-100 miles occasionally I will slow down to stop, the rmps will fluctuate from 400 to 750 rpm as will the vacuum then die. The engine will start up fine but idle roughly wanting to die again during this period. Once the rpms are above 1000 and put into gear the engine will take off and accelerate great. This stalling tendency will last about 15 minutes (if I stop) then appear to go away and not reoccur during that trip.
At high speed and hill climbing the engine does great. It has occurred once on each of my last 4 trips. I have had suggestions about: the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and possibly the crank sensor. I'm trying to figure the best sequence on working this problem up. It might be tough in that the problem seems to go away after about 15 minutes regardless if the engine sits or is run.A few more notes: the rpm and vacuum are great and steady until the problem kicks in. Last summer a shop replaced: the computer, alternator, spark plugs, egr valve, and fuel filter. I think the parts were just replaced till the problem resolved. The problem (unrelated) seemed to be resolved after the work was done though.
Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: 2001 - Occasional Rough Running / Stumble And Even Stall
A bit about my truck : 2001 F250 CC SB 4x4 175k miles
Wicked wheel, 6637 filter, DP tuner, Summit 5" exhaust, pressure regulator somewhere in the boost circuit to fool the computer a bit....
Every few times I drive the truck it will stumble and maybe even stall. The issue feels something like a CPS problem, although I've swapped out a few CPS to see if I by chance had a bad one in the engine as well as a bad one in the glove box. No changes. I was driving home from work one afternoon and it was running particularly bad. I stopped off at a local garage (who doesn't work on diesels and was reluctant to plug in....but did because he's a nice guy).
He plugged in with his snap-on tool and came up with P0603 and P1211. The P0603 seems to be nearly inevitable with a tuner. Check P1211 sounds like it could be an issue with a number of things, but I tried to attack the free and cheap issues first. I dropped my tank and had a look inside. I was hoping to find a squirrel wrapped around the sending unit, but there was a disappointingly small amount of crud. I cleaned it up and put it back in, then changed my fuel filter. No improvements.
So I decided to get with the program and buy AutoEnginuity. Got it. Even did some reading in class and did the initial homework assignment on page 2 or 3. Seems like the best thing to do it hook up, set up some parameters to monitor, and drive around recording until the problem happens. But.........what parameters do I want to monitor? I don't want to overtax the OBDII bus with too many requests such that my data looks like crap.
A few other things............ In the last year I swapped out the valve-cover gaskets & harnesses with an all-in-one molded setup. About a month back I replaced the exhaust back pressure sensor and tube.
Tiguan :: 2011 SEL Whine On Cold Start
My 11 SEL is making this weird noise on a cold start. It sounds like almost like a bit of brake squealing when I first turn the steering wheel. I am not touching the brakes so I don't think it is that. Only lasts for 2-3 seconds and then it is gone. The car runs fine otherwise and there is nothing felt in the wheel.
View 1 RepliesTiguan :: 2011 - Stalling After A Warm Start
I have owned my 2011 Tiguan VW since new. This winter it has developed a stalling problem after a warm start. It has never did this from a cold start. Just after I have been driving, stop for 20min to an hour, come back and start it. What happen is the car starts fine, I put it in drive and start to drive away, when I get about 50 feet, the engine cuts out. The only light on the dash are the battery light. I put it in neutral and it starts right back up. It doesn't do it every time, about every tenth time; just infrequently enough so it catches me off guard every time.
View 1 RepliesTiguan :: Mild Engine Judder / Occasional Vibrations
Tiguan 2.0 TSI 2009... Lately I am experiencing occasional engine vibrations, especially once the engine is cold, but do come even after engine has warmed up. Sometime even at highway speed, i could feel the vibration, but no effect on engine pull or acceleration. There is no noticeable engine misfiring. On few occasions, one starting, the engine does not pick the rpm and rattles with EPS, Oil and CHG light remaining on. A little press on the accelerator and engine gets to normal idle. The diagnostic computer does not show any fault. The local VW dealer after an expensive trouble shooting has 'diagnosed' POSSIBLE low fuel pump pressure, faulty ignition coils and ignition leads, and a heavy bill for replacements.

If you're in a snow storm and you begin to hear a very annoying occasional intermittent beeping, you probably have park assist and the snow is covering the sensors. Shut off the park assist (button with yellow "P" on dash) before it drives you......

View 3 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Intermittent Crank But No Start
This has happened to me twice in the last month including this morning. When I turn the key the engine turns over normally but will not start.
This morning I noticed that the instrument panel indicator lights flash as the motor is cranking also the radio that I had left on did not come on while cranking.
I try a couple things with the key fob alarm and hook up a light weight battery charger to the battery. Then when I try again it starts.
I do not think it is the battery as it has plenty of power and I only hooked up the charger because I heard the cranking slow down as I tried several time to start it. Which I think is normal.
Thunderbird :: 1978 Intermittent Stall - No Spark
It had no spark when I put a spark tester on, a few minutes later it started and runs fine. This has happened several months ago. Is their a way to test the spark control module.
View 3 RepliesTiguan :: Starts To Idle Very Rough And Seems To Stall - Rear Main Seal Failure?
So about 2k miles ago I went to start my tiguan (cold start) and it starts to idle very rough, barely keeps itself from stalling so I take it to the dealer the next day and they tell me the car needs carbon cleaning and a rear main seal and wanted about $2500 to do all this. I declined the service since it was a lot of money to just drop then and there. I am wondering/worried there are other issues along with the rear seal leaking or if its just something else causing the issue. I looked under the car and most of the bottom of the motor is soaked in oil. I have not done the auto trans service on the car and was wondering if that could have had anything to do with the leak. The other thing about it is once the car gets up to temp it runs totally fine. AND once in a while it will start up fine, no rough idle. That probably happens about 20% of the time (I do at least 4 starts throughout the day). The car current has 92k miles on it. What it could be/what I should do?
View 10 RepliesVolvo :: 1993 240 Intermittent Stall On Startup / Engine Revs Low
What's going on with my '93 240. When I first go out to start my car in the morning, it starts up fine. After that, however, is when the trouble begins. If it's hot out, or if I've driven the car that day, there's a 50% I'll have trouble keeping the engine running. The engine will run rich, and chugs on startup, eventually stalling out after a few revolutions. During this time, the engine revs low, don't have a tac so I can't say how low, but definitely below idle.
If hold the accelerator to increase the RPM, the engine will run fine, but once I let off the gas, chances are it will stall out again. Eventually, after doing this a few times, something seems to catch the car as it begins to stall again, as in, just before the car is about to stall, the idle speed kicks up to normal. After that, the car runs fine.
I've had a code for the MAF for a long time. I tested the resistance across the meter, and it indicates the wire is still good. Even at that, I've replaced the MAF, but nothing has changed. Still have the same problem. What could be causing this?
Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Intermittent Hesitation - No Power And The Engine Will Stall
I purchased my 2013 SF 2.0 Turbo SE in August 2013. Up until then, I was a long time Toyota owner. I've very satisfied with the SF, except I've been having an intermittent issue since I bought the vehicle.
Maybe 3-4 times a month, out of the blue, when I making a left hand turn, there is a hesitation when I press the accelerator. The hesitation lasts for about a second or so, but when there's traffic coming at you while you're making the left turn, it can be quite scary and the second feels like forever!
The hesitation feels like there is absolutely no power and the engine will stall. It never does. I've had it back to the dealer/garage for diagnostics several times but they can't seem to find anything wrong. And they keep charging me for the diagnostics! This occurs in ECO mode and non-ECO mode.
