Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: 2014 - Bad Odor From Rear Windshield Defroster
Now that the weather has gotten very cold, I used the rear windshield defroster a couple of times this week. The smell that it emits is absolutely disgusting, I had to turn it off. The front defroster isn't much better. What could be causing it? Also the rear defroster, when working, defrosts the window in a "V" shape, meaning the center is clear but the sides and top/bottom are still frosted. I have a 2014 GLS.

I've been noticing sometimes that when you try to roll up the right rear window, it won't work. It goes down fine, but sometimes, the button won't make it go up. I'm not sure if it's just the rear switch or both the rear and the driver's switch.

View 4 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Cracking Noise Coming From The Rear Windshield / Deck When Cold
Have a cracking noise coming from the rear windshield/deck when going over bumps when the car is cold? I've had this consistently since I got the car. It also has been consistently cold so there have been no warm days for me to tell if this noise goes away when it's warm out or not. It is extremely annoying though and I can't really pinpoint what it is either.
View 2 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Rear Window Film Bubbling / Peeling Off
I have a 2011 sonata and the rear window film is bubbling/peeling off the window to the point where it is hard to see through. The car is a month passed the warranty. I can't tell if this film is part of the defroster grid, or something separate that can be peeled off easily and replaced, or if I need a new window.

View 2 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Passenger Side Rear Window Wouldn't Lower
Was out cleaning my windows today, and had the key turned to the accessory position so I could lower and raise the windows while I cleaned them. The passenger side rear window wouldn't lower (either from the switch on the passenger door itself, or the switch on the master panel on the driver's door.) The other 3 windows worked just fine. I immediately started planning on when I could get the car to the dealer
On a lark, I started the car to see if that made a difference and the passenger side rear window worked just fine. I then shut off the car, put the key back to the accessory position, and the window continued to work just fine.
Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: 2013 - Rear Defroster Only Defrosting Middle Of The Window
Is it normal for the rear defroster to only defrost the middle of the window. The top and bottom don't defrost. Does this have to do with the antenna?
View 4 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Rain Leaking Into Rear Passenger / Glass Window
I have an 04 lariat extended cab truck with the sliding rear window, but i have a leak somewhere back there. I have noticed that water literally drips right in the top middle of the window, but around the window is dry. Also, the roof interior trim is wet at the corners in the rear closest to the door. i do have a cracked 3rd brake light, is that the reason it is leaking or is there a seal somewhere else outside on top of the truck, maybe around the rear window as a whole?
View 3 RepliesFord F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2002 - Reseal Sliding Rear Window Glass
My 2002 has a sliding rear window. I noticed the rubber weatherstripping pieces that seal the sliding piece of glass was out of place. I slid the window open and it fell off. I then looked at the others and they were being held on by a thread.
I took them off. There is black rubber or weatherstrip adhesive in the tracks the strips came from. Do I need to scraped that out and reapply adhesive? Is there a video or tutorial on this somewhere?

View 2 RepliesFord F-150 (2009-2014) :: 2013 - Rear Defroster On Sliding Glass Window Does Not Work All The Time
My rear defroster on my sliding glass window doesn't work all the time. I make sure the window is completely closed. It sometimes comes on and other times it doesn't. Sometimes it comes on and immediately shuts off. The dealership says I will need a new window. The truck is 7 months out of warranty. I think a $52,000 truck should have a rear defroster that works a heck of a lot longer than 43 months, especially when it has only been used 3 times since I bought it. Is this a problem that any of you have experienced with you F-150's ? I love my truck and will live with the rear defroster not working before I replace it. I just feel that Ford should have better quality than that.
View 14 RepliesSonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Snapping Noise From Rear Panoramic Glass
I have a 2015 Limited with the pano glass. Have an occasional cracking/snapping noise coming from the rear of the glass (not the moveable piece, but the fixed piece)? Were you able to get it fixed? The tech says it's because of body flex, and that there's no fix for now. I'm tempted to drop the headliner and drive it for a few days to try to pinpoint it.
I'm not quite sure what would be making that type of noise with body flex. Everything I can imagine would be fixable with maybe a nylon washer or some felt. Now that the temp is in the 50s, it's happening a lot, and it's starting to annoy me.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Rear Windshield Wiper Doesn't Quite Cover Enough Of Back Window
I used my rear windshield wiper for the first time today. Noticed that the back windshield wiper doesn't clean off the back window close enough to the horizontal bar going across the Prius V hatch? I have about 2-3 inches of dew remaining above the back hatch bar, which 'happens' to be the exact height of my eyes (I'm 6').

View 7 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Black Line Across Windshield
I am not impressed with the headlight angle of the 2011 Sonata. There is a "black line" across my windshield where the low beams project and totally disappear. If you drive in the city, you would not notice it. In the rural areas- dark hilly and curvy roads, it definitely cuts into visibility. One can only see about 50 feet ahead. Last Friday night I hit a black tire on a black road as I did not see it in time. My 2005 Sonata did not have this problem.

View 11 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Reducing Dash Reflection On Windshield
When I am driving and the sun is hitting the top of the dashboard, I get a reflection of the dashboard in my windshield. I have the gray interior, so it isn't terribly distracting. However, it would be really nice to tone it down some. The interior of my new Sonata is nice and I don't want something tacky. I have done some looking at dash mats on the web but I don't know how well they fit, how well they work, and if they would pass my tackiness test.
