Golf/GTI VII :: 2015 - Transmission Error - Cannot Engage Reverse

Just got a new GTI two weeks ago, and wow. I love it. It's like a dream come true to me to own a GTI. It's everything I've imagined and more. Anyways, while driving my girlfriend to the store last night I received the "Transmission error: Cannot engage reverse" error while driving down the highway (and obviously not trying to go into reverse). I have seen a few others with 2015 GTIs that have the DSG transmission with the same issue. Unfortunately my night ended in me limping the car home, and having it towed to the dealership today. Sadly the car only has 2800 miles on it, and it's my baby. Even the girlfriend says I love it more than her.

Now my question is, how was it fixed? Total replacement of transmission? Electronics issue? As you can imagine, I am super bummed about this. I can honestly say, 75% of the time I drive the car in manual mode, and very rarely take it over 4k RPM and have never redlined the thing. My mother and my girlfriend insist that I got this transmission error by driving an automatic in manual mode so much, however Volkswagen and the dealership insist that driving the car this way will do no harm whatsoever to the transmission.

So again, my question is, how is this issue resolved? Is driving my car this way really not good for it? Until then, I will be driving around this rental Passat, that feels like a boat compared to my GTI. But the sunroof and leather seats are pretty nice.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2015 - How To Engage 4 Wheel Drive Correctly

I have just switched from GM to Ford and have a new F250 4x4 XLT. I am wondering how to engage 4 wheel drive correctly. I have the manual shifter and the manual lock hubs. However during my test drive I shifted the lever into 4H and 4L and it seemed to engage just fine. Do I need to lock my hubs as well? Or if im just in a wet spot can i just shift into 4h without locking my hubs? I know if I am in anything serious I need to lock the hubs. I just want to be sure before I get into a tricky situation. My 02 GM all i had to do was push a button and it shifted automatically.

Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2015 - Delay In Transmission To Engage When Start And Put Shifter In D

2015 F-250 4X4 CC gas truck. 6R140 Transmission..

My truck has 6500 miles on it and since day one when I put my shifter in (D) there is a 3-4 sec delay in the transmission to engage every morning when I start out, rest of the time there is no delay even when the truck sits all day at work (about 9 hours). I have read in 2011 (?) that the transmission was loosening it's prime and would cause this problem, so how it's got me thinking.

Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Cranks But Will Not Engage The Engine

All of a sudden today (it's a foggy night) when i press the start button it cranks but will not engage the engine. It has 67000 miles on it.

I am assuming it is not the brake pedal issue that many have here. Battery is fine i think because it turns on the air condition lights and everything, i even tried to jump start. Gasoline, it has still 75 miles to go, I don't know if the gauge is wrong.

Any plugs that i need to check? 2011 Sonanta SE ....

Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Motor Would Spin But Would Not Engage The Gears

I have a 2011 sonata SE w/ 30K miles, the starter failed on me.

The motor would spin but would not engage the gears b/c of the solenoid or the rod malfunctioned.

They towed my car to the dealer for free and it was replaced but I'm concerned because the towing guy told me he towed quite a few Hyundai's b/c of this problem.

Bought a Sonata Limited with 5500 miles on it from local dealership. Soon after I noticed that the cruise did not always engage. Problem is that when I brought it in for service, no one was able to duplicate the problem. What to do?

Hyundai - Sonata :: 2011 - Starter Did Not Engage And Electrical Went Out

My wifes 2011 Hyundai Sonata would not start yesterday at the clinic. I purchased a new battery went there today to replace the battery. Before I started the work I tried starting the car. When I turned the key to the on position the radio came on and the dashboard lit up like normal. As soon as I turned the key to start the car the battery went completely dead. The starter did not engage and the electrical went out.

I replaced the battery. When I turned the key to the on position nothing turned on. Not the radio or any of the dashboard lights. I tried starting the car and there was not response, exactly like a dead battery. I purchased a new battery and they tested it right in front of me before giving it to me so I feel like I can rule out the battery.

I double checked that he connections were tight. I tried jiggling the shifter, pushing the brake pedal, jigging the steering wheel around, jiggling the key in the ignition. The positive battery terminal connector has a fuse, it appears to be intact. I also checked the fuse panel in the engine compartment. All of the large fuses are intact (I only looked at the 3 or 4 of the large ones that were visible from the top). I didn't check the smaller fuses, I wasn't sure which ones to check.

A little background; For a couple days in a row my wife was noticing that the car was struggling to start (she didn't mention this to me right away). I noticed that when we were driving it the head lights had a very suttle flicker. When were idling at a stoplight it appeared as if the lights were dimming and getting brighter rapidly. I noticed it from the reflection of a license plate and dismissed it as maybe just the wind causing the license plate on the car ahead of us to wobble. It was suttle and not very pronounced. Yesterday my wife went to the clinic and when she was leaving the car would not start. Someone try with jumper cables but she was not able to get it started. Even after letting it sit for 5 minutes before trying to start it.

My buddy thinks it's the ignition switch itself, but that sounds quite a bit beyond my capacity. I suspected that since the lights were fluttering/dimming that it was an alternator problem. Even if the alternator is bad wouldn't the car still run on a fresh battery?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2008 GLS Won't Start / Ignition Try But Fail To Engage The Engine

I'm in a bit of a bind. I was very low on gas drove my car on fumes (mistake, yes) back to my place. Today, it will not start. I dumped 3/4 of a gallon into the tank, and still no start.

The ignition will try, fail to engage the engine, and then emit rapid clicks as the interior light flashes. The battery works, as all the cabin lights turn on.

I really don't want to the fuel pump to be broken, so I'm trying to eliminate possibilities before that. Is there something wrong with the ignition, perhaps? What is the clicking after the attempted "heaves" of the ignition switch?

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: AVG MPG Very Low On Display

I've been driving this Sonata 2015 Limited and while going very light on the pedal in eco mode it is barely hitting 18 to 20mpg. I find that very odd, and presume something is either calculating wrong or the car has an issue.

2015 limited
Eco Mode
2.4l engine
City driving but very soft on the pedal.

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: A/C Not Getting Cold

Seeing issues with A/C not getting cold? I thought it felt a little warmer than it should, and then my wife got in my car and instantly called it out, and now it is pretty close to room temp. air....Could it be low pressure in the lines? Or the fluid itself (freeon...? =s) ?

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Driving Car With No Refrigerant In AC

2016 Hyundai Sonata SE
6000 miles, 3 months old
2.4 GDI engine, auto trans

Variable-Displacement Compressor (no clutch, anyway, so that's what I'm assuming)

Is it OKAY to drive the car without refrigerant to circulate lubricating oil, or am I going to be looking at a new compressor in a few years?

A week ago, a grasshopper put a hole in the condenser. Yes, a friggen BUG, complete with bug guts and wings stuck around the tiny dent and pinhole. I'm arguing with Hyundai over the warranty coverage, they say "outside forces" and I'm saying "defective part or crappy engineering"...

The dealer's service writer said there would be no problem driving the car while we wait for parts, as long as we didn't turn the AC on. Okay, it's not summer anymore, but doesn't the compressor want to be on in DEFROST setting? Supposedly the system won't try and turn on the compressor if it's low on charge, but...being a variable displacement compressor with no clutch...

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: GPS Not Setting Clock

In the clock settings, GPS is on, Daylight Savings Time is on, but the time is incorrect. The only way to set the clock is to turn GPS off and then you can set the clock manually.

If the GPS is working properly in these cars, certainly the clock should be set correctly. Why this is happening.

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Interior Lighting Do Not Come On

So I noticed that my interior lights do not come on at all when I unlock the car, stop the car, turn it off, etc. If I push the map lamps directly they come on and stay on but don't shut off when driving. I have the front door lamp set on the in and out positions but nothing makes the interior lights come on unless I push the map lamps or the front room lamp button. Am I missing something here? Or is it possible the front door lamp switch is not working?

Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Stalls Out And Died

Strange thing happened today. Sitting at a light today, the car started to stall out and no amount of gas kept it going and it died. Tried restarting twice, it started and stalled again. The third attempt I immediately put it in drive and hit the accelerator and it took off like normal.

Just under 24k miles, absolutely no signs of issues before or after. Had a little under 1/4 tank at the time and it was a cold humid morning after a very rainy day yesterday. Possibly water in the gas or a result of the damp weather? Always use top tier gas and no CEL's or hesitation
