Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 1999 - Rough / Jiggly Ride Even When Moving Very Slowly
Here is the critical info...1999 F-150 2wd supercab, 4.6 litre, Automatic, 138,000 mi
Recently, I had the upper control arms, upper ball joints, and lower ball joints replaced. They also did an alignment. Since then, the truck has had what seems to be a rough, jiggly ride. I can feel every little imperfection in the road, even when moving very slowly. I've also noticed that my doors sometimes rattle now (they didn't before the work was done). On the highway, sometimes it seems that a tire will get into a bouncing condition which can continue for quit awhile. It is also harder to keep the truck centered in the lane.
I went back to the same place that did the work and told them to double check everything, (which they did, found nothing wrong).
To try to fix this, I have...
replaced the shocks (new ones are bilstein)
balanced the tires
rotated the tires
checked air pressure (32 psi)
I don't know if the following facts have anything to do with anything, but... When I look at the upper control arm attachment points, there is a metal plate that is (I'm told) to keep the camber in the factory setting. This plate was removed on one side to adjust the camber away from the factory setting. Also, I don't see how the castor is controlled? Is there an adjustment for that. Can castor be to blame for any of this? Can cheap parts (control arm, ball joints) be to blame?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Rough Ride At Lower Speeds
My 06 sonata ran fine for about 3 miles today and then started to sputter at stop signs until I got up to speed. Upon restarting it at work the check engine light came on. Took it to a parts store and put the tester on it.
Error codes p0300 (random misfire), p0022 (Intake camshaft position), p0018 Crankshaft position Bank 2 sensor A, and p0304,306 (misfires on cylinder 4 and 6). Taking it to a Hyundai dealer tomorrow? Is my motor turning into a brick?
Had a recent oil changes and have driven it a thousand miles or so since. Hoping my wife didn't put E85 in it or something when she filled it up but that was about 100 miles ago so I doubt it would be running fine that long.
Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Pedal Vibration / Bumpy Ride
I recently drove to work last week and the downtown roads suck, ever since noticing this it seems like my brand new sonata is very bumpy. Its like now I am noticing all the bumps. Tires seem to make a lot of noise too.
Also when accelerating it seems like i can feel it in my foot on the gas pedal. I would say like vibration but not a vibration if that makes sense.
Any sonata owners notice when they have their foot on the gas pedal its not so smooth. Can you feel the engine working through the pedal?
This is a brand new car with less than 2,000 km on it.
Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Too Much Tire Noise / Slightly Harsh Ride
I just purchased a 2011 Sonata with 26,000 miles on it. Like the car a lot but has excessive tire noise and slightly harsh ride. Looking for recommendations on a quieter, better riding tire. It has 205/65/16 Kumho tires.
View 10 RepliesSonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Squealing Front Right Tire And Wobbly Ride
I have a 2014 Sonata GLS with only 4200 km on it, purchased new in August 2014. The car has been flawless...until yesterday. I took the car for its first oil/filter change and asked them to check tire pressure at the same time...this was at a Hyundai dealership, btw.
I left the dealership and immediately noticed that the car was swaying and more wobbly than normal (i can make it bounce from side to side by moving my body in the driver's seat), and when I make a right turn there is an awful squeal from the right-front tire.
I've done some online research today but couldn't get back to the dealer before they closed to look at it. Most posts I've read point to under inflated tires, but there are others that say wheel bearing and more.
Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Noisy Ride / Rattling Sound Coming From Steering Wheel Area
I have been little irritated with my noisy/rattling sound ride coming from passenger dash, my steering wheel area and some time front passenger belt. I have taken it to dealership and they could not hear anything so they duplicate the problem and no cation was taken. But they found out passenger side ball joint was loose , so they replaced that under warranty.
I wanna know if everyone sonata makes that noise when you go over little bumps on road, rail track crossing ? it just irritates me too much,,how ever the rattle/noise is not much, i cant hear if i have music on.
Yesterday I tapped on passenger side dash and there was a after tapping noise, like vibration. I don't know if its loose plastic or what. I am not able to detect the exact location where the noise coming from. but i am sure one noise is coming from steering wheel on every tiny bumps.
I want to fix it by myself now, cause sometimes noise is there and sometime not. Is there any way to detect the noise ? Noise- more like plastic noise, like loose plastic, hinges squeaking sound, rattling sound.
Azera TG (2006-11) :: Rough Ride And Road Noise
I have owned my 2011 Azera Limited for 12k miles. It has been a great car except for the rough ride and road noise. I have rotated my Michelin MXV4 Energy Plus Greens ( P235/55R17) every 6k miles. I was told, by the dealer, that the ride is because of a "European Suspension Style design", which calls for a stiffer ride but more control. I asked Michelin about this and they said the tires are made up of a new type compound which might make them ride a little harder. They suggested it was in the design of the car also.
After getting the run around from everyone, I went to and old retired Michelin Dealer/Owner, who I've known for years, and he said, forget these tires, they will cup easily and always run rough. Look for a brand with a higher speed rating, you'll get a better ride but expect less mileage out of them since they probably will be a performance tire. Tire sidewall stengths have changed so don't think a higher rating will make a stiffer sidewall. This is not true today at all.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2006 (2.4l Engine) Stalls On Red Light
2006 sonata gl with 4-cyl engine. Car runs/feels fine. Installed HID kit a while ago (with harness) and no problem. Driving home late afternoon (with AC on hi) stopped on red light. Radio was on but NO HID lights on - then momentarily car stalls. Starts back up right a way and NO check engine light. Tried AC- works fine, turn the lights on (HID 35w slim balast), radio on - everything is fine.
My "suspect" is old battery (original!) and I think that for a short moment charging system (alternator) could not keep up/charge battery while car was idling with AC and radio on (hi load).
How long is original battery good for (5-6-...yrs)? Looked earlier at Everstart batteries (or was it Eveready brand?) made by Johnson. I could only find a few batteries but they were sitting on the shelf since last summer (sticker said made 07/2010 !). Are they any good?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2006, Stalls After Starting
Usually in the morning after starting the car, when I put the car into reverse the car stalls. I start it up again and it works fine. It has been doing this for a few months. When I went to get oil change they said I needed to replace battery so I did. Problem is still there. It has done this twice when I try to take off from a red light. I have no check engine lights either. My car has 105,000 miles but cannot really afford to buy a new car at the moment.
View 5 RepliesGolf VI R :: Low RPM Stumbles Comes Along For The Ride?
After having finally taking the mod bait and flashing to stage 1 with no hardware changes a few weeks ago, I'm generally enjoying the newfound urgency that the car possesses, but I'm curious if some low rpm stumbling generally comes along for the ride? It is relatively minor and mostly occurs before the car is warmed up. Seems to be more prevalent in moderate throttle conditions between 2500-3000 rpm.
I have around 400 miles since the tune and wondering if this is something others have noticed as well. Do I perhaps need to give it a bit more time to "learn" or is this the way it is? I initially thought it was at least partly just more of a contrast showing up with the bigger power above 3k, but it is clearly a stumble some of the time, as if the car is choking a bit.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: ESC And CEL While Car Stalls
I have an 09 Sonata V6 3.3 W/ 13,000 miles.(yes) While driving ESC & CEL lights come on and car stalls. Pull over and it restarts. May do it one more time, or six times. Dealer gets no codes. They called Hyudai and they said that the ABS control module is not communicating and that why no codes. No ABS light on ever. Cost is 2,300 parts & labor! A lot of people have ESC & CEL lights come on but car doesn't stall.
View 9 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Overheat Only While A/C Is On
I have an 2006 GLS 3.3 with 26,700 miles on it, any time I turn the A/C on the temp gauge shoots all the way up to the red. When I turn the A/C off it drops fast right back down to the middle. No radiator leaks, my coolant level is great in the reservoir, and I already looks and my radiator fan turns on anytime I turn the A/C on. I live in AZ and it's been 100+ outside and going to stay that way for the next few months. What might be causing this. Bad ground? Bad temp sensor?
View 3 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: AC Blows Hot Air
So last summer I had the AC recharged. Worked great. I only ran the AC about twice over the winter to lub the seals (about 30 sec) prob not long enough but anyway.
I used the AC this month a couple of times briefly and it seemed to work just as well but today I get NOTHING except hot air. I cleaned the cabin filter, it sounds like the compressor comes on cause I know it makes that kick sound a few secs after hitting the AC button which illuminates. I took a quick look around but didn't see any leaks. fuse looked ok. I noticed the Low pressure line is wrapped.. do i have to take that off to check for leaks?
Does this sound like the refrigerant is low again after only like 6 months. If it worked great last week now nothing does that seem like the issue? Thinking of just filling up from autozone myself. I've also have a bad BCM with intermittent light/dash/window issues which arises in heat for past 2 years.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Oil Pan Leaking
Just brought my 06 3.3l into the dealer and they said the oil pan is not covered under warranty. It's clearly where my issue is - is it hard to change this oil pan on an automatic?
View 10 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Low Beams Keep Going Out
Recently i replaced the old lo beams on my 06 Sonata for some brighter ones. Roughly a week later while driving home on the freeway both lo beams went out. I noticed when this happened that the ESC, ESC (Off) and green headlamp lights all came on and stayed on for several seconds.
I replaced the bulbs after reading that if you leave the lights in the "ON" position while starting the car there is a risk of them blowing out sooner. I left them in the "OFF" position for about a week, but they blew out again. I've checked the fuses which all appear to be in very new condition.
My searches have lead me to the same solution (replace the bulbs) over and over.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Low RPM When Not Accelerating
I am using hyundai sonata 2006 model (2.0). I just change my engine and the RPM of the engine I bought always drop below1000 when am not accelerating or when I apply brake and slow down in traffic. When the rpm is bellow 1000 my oil indicator light is always on and if my Ac is on it will switch off the engine. How I can increase the rpm to 1000 or a little above 1000 when am not accelerating (in idle position when the engine is steaming).

View 2 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: ABS And ESC Off Lights Came On
I have a 07 Sonata. Today, the ABS and ESC OFF lights came on. Everything was normal when I turned off the car and turned it on again (for a while) but then those lights came back on. Is it related to the STOP LAMP SWITCH issue? Would Hyundai honor the recall? [URl] .... If not, how to re-install a new switch?
