Sonata NF (2006-10) :: How To Locate And Change Fuel Tank Air Filter
I am looking for an answer to changing my 2007 Sonata fuel tank air filter that is mentioned in my 30,000 mile maintenance schedule. Is this an easy change or does my car have to be taken to the dealer for this?

View 3 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Fuel Tank Over Flowing
I've noticed a couple times since I've filled my tank up that it over flows before the gas pump clicks off, this has been at two separate gas stations. I've always put the nozzle back as soon as it clicks off, not one of those retarded people that fill go CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK CLICK until it over flow or because they want to round it off. I've never changed that fuel breather filter, or what ever it's called. I didn't think it's needed. 107k here.

I have a 2009 Sonata SE 3.3 with about 35,000miles. I am the second owner.
I believe that my gas gauge or the sending unit in the tank is bad. The gauge will show empty when the tank has fuel and then it will sometimes read normal.

2012 Passat SE ... Where the fuel filter location is? I've changed the fuel filter on many other vehicles and know that it should bee right in front of the rear passenger tire..however I was looking for it to change it the other day and I could not find it. I loosened the plastic covering on the passenger side in the rear and didn't see the filter. Looking for a picture of Gas engine Passat that is 2012 or newer??

Where it is V8? I did a search on here and came up empty. I haven't physically looked for it on the vehicle yet. I'll be changing oil this weekend and I'd like to change the fuel filter while I'm at it.
Almost forgot, it has the 4.6L V8.

View 2 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Dry Start / Rough Noise After New Filter?
Maybe I'm paranoid but after changing just the oil filter, the engine started to make nasty noises for 5 seconds. Could this be symptoms of a dry startup? If you didn't read the thread, I changed the oil filter only because the Bosch oil filter was making my engine noisy. I changed to OEM Hyundai filter. I even put engine oil in the filter before inserting it into the engine. Does dry startup happen to all cars after changing the oil filter?
I came across another thread this morning after encountering the same issue with a Bosch filter (the cloth one) It doesn't have a lip on the top/bottom and uses a fiber on both ends instead (Which I'm assuming is causing a dry start). I also encountered some nasty noise on startup after installing this filter for the first time (usually use WIX/Fram Extra Guard) as per availability. Bosch just has a different design (cloth on the ends compared to plastic lip). I suppose I'll be picking up a new filter after class today.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: In Cabin Air Filter Tabs Were Broken
So I've been getting that nasty, musky odor in my 2006 Sonata. I just purchased it used last December, so don't know when the cabin air filter was last changed. I had to do this with my Camry not too long ago, so I still have the spray to try on it if the filter isn't too old/dirty. The problem:
When I lowered the glovebox to get to the cabin air filter, one of the tabs was broken off. I figured no big deal. I pressed on the other three and they all broke off. My husband tried to get it out, but no luck. I'm afraid of damaging it if I try to pry it out and even if I succeed, do I have to do that every time I need to get to the filter? Where I would find a new housing?
Montana :: 2006 - Vehicle Went Into Limp Mode, Fuel Filter Might Be The Cause?
2006 Montana 3.9.
Went into 'limp mode' (dash says, reduced engine power)
Mechanic friend scanned it: It indicated Cam Sensor. He bought a Cam Sensor but the next scan indicated Throttle Position Sensor. TPS is not available separate from the throttle body.
It seems like it might be a dirty fuel filter to me but it looks like the only fuel filter is on the pump in the fuel tank. Is that the case? Auto parts people say no other filter. Is there something we can do besides the full blown job of pulling the tank, and removing the fuel pump; some kind of additive or treatment to clean the fuel filter?
Why is it still the norm to have the pump etc. in the tank where you can't access it?
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: PCV Valve Location And Replacement
Changed my oil today and check the air filter. I noticed that there is oil on the air filter, so I'm thinking the PCV valve is bad (car has 136,000 miles). I want to check it but I'm not sure where it's located. Where it's located (pictures would be great) and how involved it is to replace?
