Prius (2010-12) :: Low Rumble / Groan From Brake Pedal Area Once Stopped

My 2015 Prius with 1,300 miles on it makes a rumble/grumble/moaning/groaning sound after I have come to a complete stop. It can be felt in/on the brake pedal. (Stop light, etc) It lasts for a few seconds then stops. This low rumble has me concerned. It has a slight vibration to it too. (again this is NOT while driving. Only once stopped and foot resting on the brake pedal) I can't confirm it has anything to do with the braking system but seems to come from the general area of the brake pedal and when foot is on the brake. So I assume it's the brake system.

I know about the typical brake servo actuator noise (which is completely normal and I am very familiar with) but thats a light unintrusive noise. Distinct from this low grown noise. (I know the difference) I hope I am correct in assuming the computer would detect if there's anything wrong and throw a light... but I'm new to Priuses. Is this a normal sound/vibration? I know these cars do a lot of electric things so if it's normal, I'll try to ignore it.

2012 Rav4 - Creak / Groan From Front Left Brake When Applied Lightly

I have a 2012 Rav4 and I have been hearing a creaking/groaning sound coming from the front left brake when I apply it lightly. It gets worse as it heats up. It sounds exactly like the brake in this youtube video.

Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Car Is Experiencing Intermittent Starting

2004 Lexus GX470, for the last month experienced intermittent starting problems. Turn the key, one slight click first try, nothing after. Disconnect battery cable and reconnect, starts every time.

Then while driving a week ago the vehicle died, all electrical seemed fine, more like fuel cutoff. Now every attempt to start is the same sequence of events, first try one click. Second car turns over and won't start or if it does runs rough for a few minutes and dies.

Third try, the starter won't disengage until key is turned to off position.

Possibly the ECM? Immobilizer? It's obviously not a starter problem as disconnecting the battery caused it to start and now when it does start it runs rough and then dies.

Buick :: Shuddering And Groan At Every Turn

Wednesday Morning in Northern MN was a cold one (-27) and I needed to snow blow. Got in the Buick started it and immediately turned to back it up 10 feet for the snow blowing. When I turned the wheel it was real stiff and it let out an loud groan. 2 hours later, I warmed it up and started down the road.. groaned at every turn and was kind of shuddering at the turns.

Went to Kmart and got some steering fluid, topped it off...drove great afterwards but noticed foam when I filled it. took a whole bottle..... I betcha it was supposed to be synthetic, because the next morn it shuddered when I backed it out then the power steering growled and stopped.. No power steering now. Question, if it had synthetic in it and I topped it off with non-synthetic, what do I do now?

Touareg :: Low Speed Groan / Hum While Turning

The Touareg is my wifes vehicle, so I do not drive it all the time, but I do all of the driving on our vacation. Let me start by saying it was quite hot and humid on vacation so this may be part of the cause. Like the topic says when parking and or turning from stop or at low speeds there was a very noticable groan/hum coming from the front of our 2009 V6 Touareg. Is this common/anything to worry about? Before vacation we had just had it in for the 10k service and everything checked out ok.

Phaeton :: Right Front Groan And Creak When Going Over Bumps

Got my Phaeton in the shop for a right front groan and creak when going over bumps. I assumed it was a bad strut, but the Phaeton tech is coming back with a "busted upper link" finding. Extended warranty inspector is coming out to, um, inspect. Service adviser and Phaeton tech think all four links need to be replaced, not just the right front one and will be advising the inspector as such. We'll see. Meanwhile, looking for a picture of an upper link available so that I can see what is being talked about here?

Touareg :: Transmission Groan On Downshifting Under Acceleration

I took my Phaeton in for a transmission noise and they are saying it's "normal" for V8 Touaregs and Phaetons to have this noise on downshifting under acceleration from 4th to third at around 40 MPH. Yes?

Toyota - Corolla :: Moan / Groan While Decelerating 2005 LE

My 2005 Corolla LE makes a low moaning/groaning sound when I release the accelerator between 40-50 mph. This does not happen below or above the said speed range. I can hear it only when it is sufficiently quiet like in quiet mornings or on roads with low road noise. What could it be ? Do I need to fix it and how ?

Touareg :: Exhaust Vibration / Groan At About 1000 And 1500 Rpm

I've got a V8 with about 250 miles - I took delivery last Saturday. I'm hearing a groan in the exhaust between 1000 and 1500 rpm.

It sounds (and feels) like it's coming from the underbody beneath the center console/arm rest. I can feel the vibration in the gas/brake pedals and the driver's seat. It doesn't seem to matter what speed or gear I'm in... even Neutral. Definitely related to engine rpms as it happens while downshifting as well.

I haven't looked under a T-reg lately. What is under that area... is there a resonator in the exhaust? It almost sounds like a loose brush shield or maybe a bad baffle somewhere.

Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: AC Deep Groan / Growl Sounds

2011 Sonata GLS

Sometimes the AC will make a deep low vibrating sound like a groan or growl. It will go away after a minute. Or if I turn off the AC then turn it back on it stops making the noise.

Mostly it happens at idle or in gear but car is stopped. Or a very low road speed. Occasionally it will go away if engine speed is raised (driving faster or revving engine in PARK). What's going on? Any known issues or TSBs?

Jeep - Liberty :: 2005 - Groan / Squeal At Low Speed

I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty. It recently started making a noise that I think is most accurately described as a groan/squeal. It only happens at low speed, < 20MPH, and happens more often the lower the speed. It also seems more likely to happen when the vehicle is turning. I haven't noticed any other problems with the car. The brakes and serpentine belt were recently replaced.

The brakes were replaced because they were starting to get old, looked corroded, and were starting to squeal when braking. The serpentine belt was replaced because it had a crack in it and was under warranty after being replaced for the same reason only 10 months ago. I don't believe that the noise is related to the brakes as the noise has occurred many times when the brakes were not being applied and it does not appear to occur any more or less frequently when they are applied

Camry :: Low Pitch Loud Groan Coming From Rear Of Car In Reverse

When I start to reverse, there is a low pitch rather loud groan coming from the rear of the car as I start to move backwards.

It doesn't matter if the cars been sitting for a while and then I back up, or if I'm driving for a while and get to my destination then reverse into a parking spot. It's completely sporadic and I'll go days without hearing it. My first thought was maybe the rear brake wasn't completely disengaging from the rotor?

The car doesn't shudder when this starts and there's no odd sensation in the brake pedal as I release pressure.

Accent LC (2000-05) :: Low-Frequency Groan From Rear Brakes When Stopping

My vehicle is a 2005 Hyundai Accent GLS with 38,000 miles.

I recently had work done on my rear brakes after having a pretty horrific, loud metal-on-metal grinding/screeching sound. - the pads are still at 60 percent so they did not put on new pads, but they did a rear brake adjustment, shaved the rear rotors, etc.

That horrible sound is gone, but it has been replaced by a low-frequency groan from the rear brakes under hard stopping, from about 10mph down to 0mph. I honestly could not even hear it myself with the radio on but noticed it when coming to a stop without the radio on. It usually stops happening after a couple hard stops, then happens again the next time I get in the car and go somewhere.

To describe the sound, under those exact braking conditions it almost sounds like what driving a car through snow sounds like. Or a shoveling snow sound, minus the sound of the shovel itself hitting the ground. I am not noticing any corresponding vibration or decrease in stopping power.

Not sure if that makes any sense, but it's the best I can do. Could it simply be rust buildup working its way out? We have had a wet, cold, snowy winter and my car is parked outside every night overnight.

Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Occasional Groan Or Creak But Only In Harshest Ride Situations

So far, I am very impressed with the ride and body tightness of my new Santa Fe. I do hear an occasional groan, or creak, but only in the harshest ride situations. Is this a normal characteristic of this vehicle, or am I just lucky? Of course, the ride is different from my Genesis, but the comfort is not a letdown in any way. I'm just hoping that this comfort will continue in the Santa Fe and not deteriorate with time.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Small Creak Or Groan When Turn The Steering Wheel

I've always had a small creaking or groan when i turn the wheel after I lowered my GLI a year ago, but i feel like it's getting louder...

What could be causing it? cause im doing my year end "maintenance" (if its worn/almost broke, perfect excuse to buy upgrades) ...

My control arms are brand new with r32 bushings as are my 034strut mounts/bearings. I checked my steering fluid level and its good.

Pic for reference of current height, might raise it .5 or so, my new job has quite the driveway entrance.

Volvo - V70 :: Groan In Steering Wheel When In Reverse And Turning - Slight Lag When Starting Off

2001 V70 Volvo Wagon 114k miles... The following in order has been done so far in the last 3 months mostly because the mechanic who did everything besides the mounts takes forever.

Rotors & pads

Replaced axle shaft

Oil & new air filter

Replaced steering wheel pump #1 - with new liquids

Replaced steering wheel pump #1 with #2

Replaced steering wheel pump #2 with #3

Supposedly checked the rack & pinion

New hoses for the steering wheel pump

Alternator replaced

All front, right and rear engine mounts have been replaced

I am about to literally come out of my skin with the subtle vibration that comes through the steering wheel, seat and floor on the drivers side. When I put my hand on the shifter I don't feel the vibration nor when riding on the passengers side. I have to stay that the car sounds like an old Singer sewing machine too, not the smooth engine sound that I had before all the repair work. There is also a very slight lag when starting off and a grown that comes from under the dash to the right of the steering wheel when in reverse and turning. My regular volvo mechanic says that the car is worn but I should keep it anyway.
