Accent MC (2006-11) :: Stuck In Snow - Ebrake And ABS Light On
I was coming home from work today and I got a little screwed over. So I got stuck about 10 times in 2 feet of snow and my tires looked like they burned out they smell horrible but I have a bigger problem. The brake light when on the e-brake and stayed on what does that mean?? is it a leak? Then the ABS light when on probably because of no traction but is it a major problem?

Saturday I stuck the ex in a snow drift, rocked it back and forth in low range about six or seven times, once i got it out the engine shudders in overdrive. If i lock out OD it still shudders under load, It starts at around 40 mph, if I push it up to 60 and let off the throttle it stops and is smooth until I start to climb a hill. It never did this before It is a 2001 V10 with 143,000 miles, where to start looking ....

I was just wondering, is it normal when plowing to get stuck in the snow? Last year I got stuck and had to get pulled out, yesterday I got stuck again and when I have it in 4x4 hi, one front and one rear wheel spins. 4x4 low, the opposite front and opposite rear spin from hi. I want ALL 4 WHEELS TO SPIN! I'd NEVER get stuck if that happened! How do I get that to happen? I hear of a detroit locker. Do you need one for each wheel? I always thought as I was flying past everyone in the snow with a huge smile on my face, that all of my wheels were powered.

This is happening intermediately, maybe 1 out of every 5 starts.
Using the override I can shift just fine and the lights go away within 2-3 minutes. However, there's obviously something misaligned here. Search revealed potential brake switch issue (my tails and brake lights are fine so no issues there), lockout issue, or a park neutral switch.
So I took the panel apart and I am trying to isolate these potential issues, image attached, what I need to do next? I am more of a visual person so if someone can circle the part I need to disassemble or replace that would be most useful.

So the other day 2/3/2014 my dad and I went out during the snow storm for the people that needed assistance. That day I pulled a 95' RWD dually with a 4 car open trailer and pushed 4 people from one location. Then after I went to assist the tractor trailer driver. My truck is a 2002 F250 super duty 5.4L with 4:10 gears. I got him unstuck then pulled him a 1/2 mile up a hill.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 2001 - Clunking Noise From Front After Starting From Stop / Stuck In Mud Or Snow?
first off my truck is 2001 ford ranger 4x4 with an auto. transmission. when I'm driving around in 2wd, everything is fine...
when my 4wd high is on, and I'm starting from a deadstop my truck makes a weird "clunking" noise in the front end. If I'm stuck in mud or snow, and I give gas it keeps "clunking". where the problem comes from?
Lexus RX 2010-15 :: CEL On Indicating Check AWD System / TRAC Off
My 2015 Lexus RX 350 has been indicating "Check AWD system, TRAC off" for sometime now. It all started when I overfilled the tank and it spilled over. The indicator came on after about 12 hours. What may be responsible. The car is barely 6 months old and don't know what to do right now.

I checked the air in the tires on my 2008 350 ES with an outside temperature of around 40 degrees. Pressure gage read 25 lbs. I decided to add pressure to bring up to 30 lbs. Subsequently while driving, the Trac & VCS System malfunction warning symbol came on (the picture of a car with wavy lines behind the tires). Of course, the warning symbol of a red triangle with an exclamation symbol in the middle as well as a check engine light also came on.
I figured that the problem was that the combination of cold weather (for Houston) and the added air pressure resulted in the system interpretation of an increased skid or lack of control situation. So I let some air out to where the pressure in each tire is 27 lbs. Then I drove it 5 miles or so at speeds up to 50 mph. Made no difference. Warning symbols still there.
Camry 2012+ :: 2014.5 - Snow Tires Without TPMS Sensors
I just purchased a 2014.5 Camry and winter is around the corner. I was going to buy a set of oem 17in SE rims and put snow tires on with out the tpms sensors. The question I have to ask is once the light comes on can you disable the traction control. Reason I ask is because on my 2011 accord it forces the traction control on and is sucks. Snow tires without the sensors.

I currently have a 2006 Prius with the built in navigation. Today when I start up the car, the map display is in a repeated loop of "System Loading.... Don't turn power off".
It has been working since I got the car, and I have done a map update a couple years back but it has been working until now. Everything else in the display appears to work (Engine screen, Weather, Audio, etc).

We just picked up our PIP and are super excited......except that the GPS is locked on Kentucky? It does not locate us here in Sacramento, CA and the dealer said if we can't get it working, they obviously will be fixing it.

My completely un-modified fully-loaded V6 Camry SE is currently in the shop getting the brake actuator assembly changed after almost a YEAR of these lights randomly coming on. There was no rhyme or reason. I'm a tad OCD so if there was a pattern,I'd have found it. Never came on to where they could test it. Said they could do nothing until they saw them. I took photos, but they acted like they'd never seen it before. Finally, as I was just ready to pass the dealership, they came on. I pulled in and they checked and said the lights came on right when I "was going 4mph, on an angled curve with my foot on the brake!"
And after an hour and a half said I needed to leave the car, gave me a warranty rental, and said they'd call me. I called them to learn it was the actuator assembly that was going to be replaced and one would be overnighted in. So I have a 4-cyl rental without all of my perks, like the moonroof, the heated seats, the automatic rear view mirror, back up camera.....what a difference! I'm spoiled after 19 months of my Camry! Oh, and when I first got it, there was a bad musty odor from the a/c vents every time I turned it on. I bought it with 55 miles on it...they said "all Toyotas do that."
I said this is my 3rd Toyota in a row, and I ah do one in the past. Oh, "brand new Toyotas," they said. My corolla was 6months old when I bought it. After 2 years, I traded it in for a brand new FJ Cruiser, then traded that in 6 years later for this brand new Camry. Nothing! Finally, I get a notice in the mail from Toyota re: a/c condenser pan overfills, not draining, and can cause airbag problem! was that stench water in the pan, seeping in through the vents smelling like a dirty rag not enough of an explanation that something was wrong. We had to wait until it could have been an airbag issue? Yikes! Happy that took care of the problem and my new car smell was back in no time. How it goes with the lights!
Accent RB (2012+) :: Brake Lights Keeps Going Off / TRAC Light Turns On
My brake lights keeps going off and the stop fuse keeps blowing and when it blows the TRAC light turns on and stay on. I try to change all the brake light bulbs and the 15amp fuse that was blown but it blows again what could it be?

I have a 2012 Prius v 5 with 30K miles. Twice in the last 15 days the car has got stuck in a low gear on flat roads. I was pressing the pedal just enough to maintain 55 on the highway. It would not switch to EV if the speed went down below 44. The battery indicator did not show a depleted battery. There were no warning lights. We drive quite gently.
Both times I shut off the car at the first chance I got at a traffic light. Both times, on starting again, the car behaved normal! It was as if a computer reboot fixed the problem.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2012 F350 Misfiring When Driving During A Snow Storm
While driving into town during a recent snowstorm, my truck started to misfire quite badly. The check engine light started to flash and then remained on as I went to the auto parts store. The code indicated cylinder two misfire. I don't a few things of dry gas in the tank and let it run for a few minutes which seem to solve the problem.
Since then, however,every time the engine gets even a little bit wet it starts to bark again. It usually lasts a few minutes then goes back to normal. Typically, I would have replace the plug wires. When I lifted the hood of my truck I realize I knew nothing about it.

I am trying to swap out my stock license plate bulbs on a 2012 Prius.
After getting to the bulb socket holding thing, I have read that you're supposed to turn it 1/4 counterclockwise and pull but mine is stuck and won't turn either way.

My 2012 PIP has the GPS nav system and if I want to shut it off before my destination I can't find out how to do it! I can't find anything on it in my Owners Manual either. I do not see a "Del. Destination" to press and I do not have a "Stop Guidance" to press either.

Just bought a new 2012 Prius Plug-in on Friday. Still learning the ropes. I've selected EV mode, and the EV mode indicator light is lit up as it should be on he dashboard above my steering wheel. As would be expected, to the right, the Hybrid System Indicator bar features a little car sitting on top of it with the letters "EV."
However, after a few minutes of driving, the letters "EV" disappear from the little car in the Hybrid System Indicator. The indicator doesn't switch the to HV screen (where the main bar is divided into two halves), but remains in the EV screen (where the main bar is undivided, with a little nub on the left for "charge" and on the right for "power.") And the EV mode indicator light above my steering wheel remains lit.
A few minutes later, the "EV" letters appear in the little car once again. Then they disappear, then they come back again. All along, I've had plenty of mileage left to go in EV mode (more than 6 miles).
Is this normal behavior? Is this simply what happens when the ICE kicks in despite being in EV mode? (And the ICE definitely kicked in - I saw that on the Energy Monitor graphic. And I understand why - it's been very cold here [northern NJ].)
