Prius (2004-09) :: Wiper Blades Skip Across The Surface And Noisy
Since when I bought the car (used) if the windshield isn't really wet, the wiper blades skip across the surface of the windshield and make a lot of noise. This occurred before and after I replaced just the wiper rubber.

Having issue with these wiper blades? My wife's touareg has less than 15k, but the wiper blades are streaking and otherwise less than useless. I have had the same wiper blades on my jetta for over 2 years with no issue. I have tried cleaning the wipers several times, but to no avail. Before I shell out $60+ on some wiper blades. I know I am gonna probably gonna have to get the new wipers.

I was wondering if the wiper blades are controlled by two separate motors because the other day, I cut off my engine while the blades were half-way through their cycle leaving the blades exposed across the windshield. When turning the ignition back on, one of the blades starting moving slightly sooner than the other one. This may just be slack in the mechanism but it did raise a question for me. If this is the case, it might be a pretty neat safety feature.

1971 cadillac wiper control lever will not turn on the wiper blades at any speed selected on the control lever but if you push forward on the chrome button on the lever the washer and intermittent wiper blades will work.

After I changed to blade on the left wiper of my 2005 GC the blades hang up at the bottom of the return stroke. This pulls the end of the rubber from the holder on the end of the blade. Wrecks the blade and requires a new one. Happens with new blades so it must be the arm. I may have bent the arm a bit the first time I replaced the blade. Could this be the cause. Need a new arm?

I just took in my 2007 RX350 to the Lexus dealer for a "once over" as I recently purchased it, as well as a squeak that was coming from the passenger side wiper blades.
After several replacements (including the high end Rainx and Michelin from Home Depot) the squeak would not go away.
Lexus indicated that the "aftermarket" blades were causing the problem and I needed Lexus blades.
I pushed back as they were about $120 for both, but, much to my surprise no squeak.
Not sure what the OEM blades are and I guess I could have researched it more, but, was at my witts end with the squeak.
Anyway, that fixed the problem.
Camry :: 1997 Toyota - Wiper Blades Do Not Return To Home Or Lowest Position When Turned Off
When I turn off the wiper blades on my 1997 Toyota Camry they do not return to the home or lowest position. They stop at whatever spot they happen to be. The wipers work OK on both slow speed and fast speed. Also the intermittent function is no longer working. In this position the wiper blades operate cintinually in the slow speed. What could be the causing this problem? Could it be the wiper switch on the steering column, the wiper motor, or some other component such as a fuse or relay?

Clattering and skipping, only for the driver side. So I go to look at the wipers, and they look fine. Put it into service mode, and driver side is not flush to windshield. Took off the windshield blade and saw that the piece that attaches the blade to the arm is crooked. And then there's a slight bend in the arm itself. Pictures show it not very obvious, but is noticeable in person. And there is a bend on both, but the driver side is much more bent than the passenger, and its also at a different angle, hence the crooked attaching piece.

I bought a 2006 Certified used Prius a month ago and it was rear ended 2 weeks ago (uninsured motorist couldn't be more pissed) Well since the wreck the MFD screen has been skipping bars in the consumption category. It will just leave a whole space blank. Everything else it working fine. We took it to Toyota to figure out what was going on and they are saying that everything mechanical and electrical with the car is fine. They said the only thing they can think is that the MFD screen is having issues after the wreck.

Was driving today on the highway at about 50mph and suddenly noted jerky motion. Kept the right foot steady, but it seemed like extra power was being delivered and then cut off every few seconds. The MPH monitor was jumping all over the place with the jerking motions, as was the HSI power scale indicator. The jerking was not terrible, but noticeable.
Got home safe, no issues otherwise. Only noted while cruising on the highway. No issues driving in the city.
I am in the midwest and the temp yesterday was -11F and today about 0F. Did not a problem yesterday, but then again was not able to drive at 50mph on the highway due to snow until today.

My 2007 Prius (151,000 miles) just started making what sounds like a scraping sound when in motion. This does not happen every time I drive it. The dealership said I need to replace the brake fluid actuator pump.
He couldn't really tell me what would happen if I don't have it fixed. He said perhaps the power brakes would go out, or maybe the anti-lock brake system. Either way, I don't want to mess with possible brake failure. But the cost of this repair is so high, and my car already has 151,000 miles. I'd love to drive it to 300,000 miles if I can, but am I being realistic? I'm wondering if it's worth investing this much money in a car with so many miles.
Prius (Gen 3) :: ICE Cycling Off And On Constantly
I noticed yesterday in traffic, looking for a parking space the ICE was constantly cycling off and on. The battery was only at 2 bars so I understand why it was doing that. How does the Prius get the mileage it does if the gas engine is turning off and on all the time in traffic? Yes it was hot and I had the A/C on too, which of course draws more current. We had driven 130 miles and I was amazed at how short the SOC lasted.
Suffice to say that once we got out of the congested area and I could brake more effectively the off and on went away.
Also on the way back I used the normal mode for windy hilly areas and the eco mode for the highway with cruise on. Oddly enough at the end of the trip the CONS was showing 57.6mpg. Didn't seem like changing modes hurt the mileage at all if any.
Lexus IS 2014+ :: Factory Blades Started Painting On The Windshield
After about one year on driving (about 25000 km) my factory blades began painting rainbows on the windshield. These original Denso-made wipers were really good, survived almost two full winter seasons. I replaced them with the highly regarded PIAA silicone blades - the Aero Vogue hybrid ones. Will see how long they will last.
The upper blade is PIAA, the lower is factory installed Denso one.
