Prius (Gen 3) :: Procedure Of Replacing Broken Daytime Running Light Lens?

What's the best way to find the information on changing a broken lens on a daytime running light led on a 2013 Prius 2? Can't find anything on YouTube. Would the owners manual have anything like that? The led still works but I'm afraid moisture will cause it to malfunction. Will I have to buy the whole led assembly?

Prius (2010-12) :: Condensation Appearing On Inside Of Fog Light Lens On Both Sides

Back in July of last year, I installed the OEM foglight kit and replaced the lightbulbs with a pair of yellow Luminics JDM 55w H11 bulbs.

A few months later when it would rain or snow, condensation began appearing on the inside of the foglight lens on both sides. It would burn off when I left the foglights on for a while, but would reappear shortly thereafter. The driver's side would generally stay clear most of the time but the passenger side would always have moisture on the inside.

Then, a few months ago, the driver's side bulb seemed to burn out. Today, when I took them apart to reinstall the clear lightbulbs, it turns out that fluid (it actually looked like windshield washer fluid) had gotten inside the connector and shorted it out, actually melting some of the plastic to the contact. It took a while, but I was able to scrape off enough of the plastic from the contact to get it to work with the JDM bulb again.

Prius (Gen 2) :: Light Lens Removal That Covers Headliner Mounted Door Lamps

How to remove the light lens that covers the headliner mounted door lamps? The one that covers the 3 lights with the 2 side switches in the top center. I bought LED's for the lamps but can't see how to remove it without butchering it up.

Prius (2010-12) :: Dome Light Left On - What To Do

I walked out to get the paper the other morning and saw the faint light inside my car. I had been out the night before playing around with my new Engine Link toy. I have read many posts about this and having to jump the battery to get it started.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Dome Light Works Only If It Switched To Always On Option

My dome light won't illuminate when I open any door. I converted the dome light, courtesy lights and map lights to LED's about a year ago. I reinstalled the original bulb in the dome fixture to see if that would clear it up. Same thing. I can get the light to work if I switch it to "always on". I checked to make sure the dimmer switch on the dash was turned on, and it is. Any guesses?

I am having difficulty removing the dome light cover over the rear seat to replace the bulb. I can get a flat blade or narrow putty knife between the plastic cover and the roof liner material -- but it won't "pop" out.

Prius (2004-09) :: 2007 - Dome Light Not Coming On

A few days ago, the dome light stopped coming on when I open any door. If I manually turn the dome light on, it works fine, but of course stays on until I turn the "ON" switch to "OFF" or "DOOR". When in the "DOOR" position, the dome light will not come on. I have checked all the fuses I can find and non are blown. Is there a diode in the circuit? (My KIA has a diode in the door circuit which was bad). Is there a wiring diagram available on line?

Prius (2010-12) :: No Power Until Dome Light Is Turned On

Have had a 2012 Prius Four for about one year with no problems. Within last several weeks, it started to go dead (no power, but charged batteries) intermittently after normal park and shutoff. Frequency of this issue has increased.

The only way to revive the car seems to be to turn on the rear dome light. Once the dome light is turned on, the Nav screen turns blue saying "System Downloading, do not turn off power" and car starts and runs fine. I've tried to keep track of circumstances when it happens and have not been able to determine any commonalities (hot/cool weather, solar recirculator on/off, short/long trip, dry/wet day).

The battery is charged and appears to maintain a charge as well as when it does restart, the battery is showing good charge 60-90%.

Car clock time will be off by as long as it sat without power (again indicating that the entire car is going dead).

It has happened immediately after turning off (I find out because I can't use key fob or touch to lock the doors).

It has happened while car was unattended (car locked, left and came back several hours later and can't get into car without manual key unlock, clock was off by about the same time I was away from it).

Front cabin lights, pressing brake and power button, headlights, radio, door locks, etc...none of it will re-enable the power. Except the dome light for back seat.

When it's in this no power state, just switch the dome light on and the car comes back to life (still needs started with normal procedure). I didn't believe my wife until I had this happen to me multiple times in the last week as I drove it to troubleshoot it.

What is causing my electrical gremlin. I'm thinking maybe a flaky relay. Makes no sense to me why the dome light would trip something to start up again. Worried that the dome light trick won't work one of these times.

Prius C :: Battery Drain If Dome Light Left On?

I've just returned from a late-night walk, where I discovered I'd left on the dome (interior ceiling) light in my 20-year-old car (soon to be replaced by a Prius c Two!) about a half-hour previously. I thought: if I hadn't noticed my mistake, tomorrow morning the battery would probably be dead!

Could this happen with a Prius c? Or is there a sensor that automatically douses any interior light(s) after, say, 15 minutes?

Prius (2004-09) :: Map / Dome Light Bulb Replacement?

I wanted to replace the bulbs in my map light but ran into some problems. I was able to remove the first see-through plastic cover on the light. Also I was able to twist one of the bulbs out of the socket so it was loose but there didn't seem to be a way to pull the bulbs out of their metal holders. I tried with medium to light pressure on the right side bulb and it slipped from my fingers and jumped back into the area on the other side of the metal holders. Now I can't see it or reach it. What do I need to remove to retrieve the bulb and how do I remove it?

Prius (2004-09) :: Dome Light Fuse Blown And Car Is Dead

Recently while I was stupidly upgrading one of my dome lights while it was on (door open and yes stupid) I shorted it and blew the fuse. Of course jump in the drivers seat and go buy another fuse. To my amazement the car was dead. No power up starting, no door locks no fob operation or anything. The flashers and brake lights and horn worked fine and that was it.

What a great single point immobilizer!

Problem is you will lose clock, settings like reverse beep off, mpg, etc. I was dead in the water until I remembered in the engine fuse box there is a spare 15a fuse (and the fuse puller). The dome light fuse is there as well. Replaced the dome light fuse and all is well. Drove off like I had saved the world. Very strange. Looking at the wiring the junction block that the dome light fuse feeds also feeds LOTS of other areas of the car including the ECU.

Want to keep your kids from driving the car. Forget taking the keys. Pull the dome light fuse.

Prius (2001-03) :: Won't Turn On - Dome Light Won't Working - Fuse?

I have a weird problem. My recently installed stereo (aftermarket) is not working. There is a red light on the main dial that indicates that it is "off", but it will not turn on. Nothing is displayed on the main stereo panel, hiting power doesn't work, no turning on the various modes: only the weird red ring. The dome light still works, as do the map lights. Which fuse should I be looking at? Or is it an inline fuse gone just badly enough that it can power the "off" light but not the actual stereo?

Prius (2010-12) :: Can't Find Options To Switch Off The Rear Dome Light

On our 2013 Prius II, it seems there are no options to switch off the rear dome light for the 2nd row seating without affecting the front -- the rear dome switch is only 2-positions (ON or ON w/doors) instead of 3 like most dome lights are (like the front). The problem for us is that we have a baby that rides in the back and when baby is asleep and we come home guess what happens.

Prius V :: Battery Fried And Dome Light Caused Wiring To Overheat

I have a prius v, bought July 2014. Car was on the showroom floor and needed jumped and to sit on the charger for awhile before they'd let me take it home. The dome light got left on this past weekend 4/11-4/12/15 for about 28-30 hrs. The next day it wouldn't start, had it towed. The tow truck driver could get the lights to turn on and everything power on inside, but the engine. It wouldn't do anything. We got it into neutral. It would only go into neutral and park. Toyota said the battery was completely fried which they replaced under warranty. They then said due to the dome light being on, causing the wiring to overheat and fried the wiring. I need to replace all the wiring which isn't covered under warranty. Is this normal?
