Prius (2004-09) :: Pink Coolant Residue On Inside Of ICE Water Pump Pulley
On the 06 Prius I have been working on, I noticed a light build up of pink coolant residue on the inside of the ICE water pump pulley. I assumed that this was due to a coolant leak from the weep hole, which points to an impending water pump failure.

This is weird, I just replaced my ICE water pump 2 months ago and now upon inspection, I notice there is pink seepage coming out of the pump again. Although it's a very very slight amount, but being the fluid is pink, I can see the stuff coming out again.

We had what seemed like a normal situation with the driver's side burning pink for a minute then going out. I thought it was the bulb, purchased the bulb and the light burned bright, though more yellow than the typical light blue, and then went out.
I replaced the Ballast with a different one, and got the same effect. The HID lights, burns OK for about 20 seconds, starts to pulse a little then shuts off.
Prius (2004-09) :: Traction Battery Go From 7 Blue To 2 Pink Bars Within 5 To 7 Minutes
2004 Car has 106,800 miles and for the last several weeks, when I'm stuck in traffic, like trying to get into the Lincoln or Holland Tunnel, the battery seems to go from 7 blue bars to two pink bars within five to seven minutes. Used to be that it took 3 five-minute bars of traffic, running fully electric at 100 mpg, to then go down to 2 pink, when the ICE would run and charge the battery. Today the battery indicators went down to 2 pink after sitting in traffic with the AC on and stayed there for the remainder of the time we sat in traffic - another 45 minutes or so.
The ICE would run at idle sometimes, but didn't seem to bring the battery back up unless we were really moving. A couple of times I held the brake with my left foot, revved the engine with my right, and that seemed to bring the battery up a couple bars. After we finally got going on the highway, the battery recovered. I got no warning lights, no triangles. But I'm wondering if these are symptoms of the battery failing. Time to get it tested at the dealership?
Prius (2004-09) :: Coolant Leak - Small Pink Puddle Under Where The Engine Was
My 2004 just developed a coolant leak. The past couple times I've moved the car, there's been a small pink puddle under where the engine was. The leak seems to be coming from a weep hole positioned between the two bolts of the lower engine mount. The hole is circled in red in both pics.

Basically, I wash the car myself. I wash with a soft spongy brush and exterior car wash fluid.
Now at the bottom areas (near the skirts and just lower bumper) and also some lower part of the doors, I notice stains that look brown in color and they don't disappear by me just using the spongy cleaner. It got to a point where I used my nail on the greasy bugger (the spots are small but annoying looking, barely a millimeter in diameter), and it spreads and becomes a light brown in color. I have to use my nails to get these buggers out and at some times there's tons of them based on the weather and the driving conditions.

So, I've had the car for a grand total of six days. Was just showing off what's under the hood to a coworker when I noticed droplets of pink and the coolant tank is almost at minimum. Leaking already? Calling the dealer now...I'm gonna have Mark 4 flashbacks/PTSD if this is a preview of coming attractions.

I'm kind of worried about the coolant in my 03 2.8 passat. it is a pinkish/orangish color, but im worried they topped it off with dexcool at the dealer. is it okay to mix g12 and dexcool or am i looking at a gelled up mess?
With that note, can you run g12+? or do you recommend to stick with the oem g12?
Camry :: Replaced Pink Coolant With Red And Water Pump Went
Four cylinder, 2004 Camry (2AZ-Fe), Auto with 98,000 miles.
I had to replace my water pump after driving with newly replaced Toyota Red antifreeze from the 8 year old Pink. I drove only two weeks and 1000 miles on it.
I believe that was just a coincidence. Some Camry's water pumps do not last even that long. Even if the coolant was not compatible with Toyota specification, it still could not destroy the pump seals in two weeks.
Mazda - Protege :: 2001 - What Does A Pink Oxygen Sensor Tip Indicate
I have a 2001 Mazda Protege LX 2.0 with 121,000 miles. I removed the front oxygen sensor today to replace an exhaust pipe, and I noticed that the tip has a red/pinkish color on one side only. What this would indicate?
The only thing I could find online is that a pink tip indicates lead in the fuel. This is impossible, since the only gas station I frequent is a Conoco which is always very busy. Plus, I haven't noticed any performance issues from bad gas, and not to mention the fact that leaded fuel has been completely phased out for 15 years. What's weirder is that the sensor tip is only pink on one side - I'm guessing it's the side that's facing the exhaust manifold.
Lexus SC430 :: 2002 - Pink Fluid Seeping Around Top Of Radiator
Have noticed some pink fluid seeping around top of radiator, which has created a bit of a mess in the engine bay. Is this indicative of a radiator leak? I don't see any visible cracks, however not much of the radiator is viewable. If replacement is necessary, what OEM alternates are recommended? car is running fine and not overheating. It's an '02 sc430 with 171K miles.

Pulling in to the underground car park at work this morning I noticed that my nearside Xenon has gone from a nice bright white colour, to a dirty pink. The offside is still shining brightly - does this mean the bulb is on it's way out, and if so how much is that going to cost!?!? The car will be 4 years old in October - does this seem a little premature - if it's not a failing bulb could it be something more sinister.

I have a 2011 ISF with 41k miles on it and yesterday I noticed the famous dried pink coolant below the water pump. I thought it only impacted previous years but apparently not. I'm going to drop it off tonight at the dealer since it is still under warranty. Doesn't look like the job has been done before according to Lexus service records.

I just purchased a 2010 GX460 with 63000 miles. I saw a buildup of white residue under the oil cap the day of purchase but figured it was just moisture buildup from the car sitting on a car lot and not moving much. Well, after cleaning it off, it came back. I then thought maybe there is moisture in the oil so I took it to the local lexus dealer and had the oil changed. Well, its still coming back. The picture below is buildup from 2 days of driving, I cleaned it off monday afternoon and its wednesday afternoon. When checking the dipstick, I have almost completely clear oil as its new, then about 2 inches above the oil line to 6 inches above there is more of this white stuff. Also, does the lexus drivetrain warrant that lasts to 70k miles apply to 2nd owners?

I was changing my oil yesterday and noticed a significant amount of oil residue on a bracket located approximately at the center of the front axle, to the left of the oil pan. I'm confident the leak isn't coming from the oil pan, drain plug, or oil filter, based solely on the location of the buildup, but I was not able to see specifically where the build originated. As this is a Boxer engine, my concern is that the underside of one of the head gaskets may be leaking. My only reservation about this theory, however, is that I haven't smelled any burning oil or witnessed any gray smoke.
Unfortunately, I haven't paid close attention to the oil levels in recent moths, so I can't say definitively whether or not the levels have fallen since the last oil change.
Where the residue is coming from and if it's a problem requiring immediate attention?

I have noted on my new car that the windows are covered with water spot residues that I can not remove. I washed the car by hand and the deposits remain. I prefer not to return to the dealership for this matter.
