Prius (2004-09) :: Can't Start 2008 Without Inserting Key Into Slot
I bought this second hand 2008 Prius some few months ago. I can't start my 2008 Prius without inserting the key into the slot. I want to start the car with the key in my body, how do i do it? I have changed the fob battery, the key is doing every other thing, but i must insert it into the slot before i can the start the car

Well, started up my car from a neighbor's home this morning. All fine. About 30 seconds later, more or less and the red triangle and all the dash lights come on (check engine, brake light, tire light, etc.) The display screen that shows consumption, etc. was a bit dim, and at the top was a faint small triangle with a ! mark in it also.
I had just started up my quarter mile long single-track driveway, which is quite steep. Was panicked, but knew I could not stop there. Kept going.
The battery kept going down.
I made it to a turn out just as the battery bar turned from blue to purple (two bars left).
Stopped car.
Opened hood. Saw nothing.
Opened hatch. did not know what to do, but checked the ground from the 12-volt to the car. Good and solid.
Lexus SC430 :: 2002 - Inserting Key In Door Completely Shuts Down The Car
Whats going on with my 2002 SC430. Every time someone (valet) puts the key in the door to unlock it, the car completely shuts down. The remote won't work. The only way to get it going again is to have the door popped open. This sets off the alarm but once the key is in the ignition and started, it's all good. What is going on and how to correct this?

My wife has a 2008 RX350. I don't recall this vehicle having a single warning chime whenever you install/remove the key from the ignition. I can't find anything in the manual or on google. Is this normal or does it indicate a problem?

I was trying to change my disk from 12.1 to 13.1 in my 2008 GS 350 AWD. so I ejected the disk via the screen, took it out and put the new one in. Started making a continuous clicking sound and then took the disk half-way out then in then totally out. Ok, maybe a bad disk so I tried to put 12.1 back in and same thing happened. Ok now I tired the original disk that came with the car. Same thing. Very odd. It worked fine up until the second I took it off.

My ride is 06 Passat v6 4motion. I got 45K on it.
Last night, when I came back home, I could not pull out my key from dash. I tried several times to pull out my key but to fail. So I left my key in the ignition hole and locked my car using spare key. This morning, I tried again but still stuck in dash.
What is worse is that when I arrived dealer shop for that problem, I could pull out my key from dash!

Last week my friend was driving and the Esp light got stuck on in the R32. I thought it might be the problem with corroded wire near the rear diff but his AWD is still working fine. if I scan it with vag com will it give a code?? He wants to figure out why this light is stuck on?

I have the basic radio and my 7 year old stuck an undersize round CD into the player which won't eject it, won't recognize it, and won't mount another regular disc. The dealer says that I need to send the whole player off to be repaired and that they have no tool to fuss with it for this - I know that undersize discs are a problem for the computer industry, sadly, my little guy jumped into the car and did this without my foreknowledge. I have a 2004 F250 6.0 truck. My vent selector is stuck in the 'dash vent' position. I can't switch it to defrost, floor, or anything else. This past winter I noticed that heat would blow well but only through the dash vents. Now that summer is well underway I noticed that the AC blows through the dash vents also, but it doesn't blow very cold. I checked the freon, topped it off (didn't overfill), and still have the same issue. I checked the fuses and all are good also.
Of course, moving the selector to Max AC doesn't work either. Does this all point to the blend door motor? I hope not as the reading I have done means that this is one tough project to tackle.

The town car will not switch its blower position from dash down to the vents or the floor. AC/Heat both work and the speed is still adjustable.

I have had this 2004 Phaeton since 2006. No problems and only 72k miles. Over the last month I have had three occasions where upon start the gear display [PRNDS] in the center display of the dash board lights up solid orange (unlike the orange boarder with clear inside). The car shifts into reverse and into drive but seems to stay stuck in 2nd gear.
This is now happening about 50% of the time I start the car. When the display is normal the car and transmission appear fine.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - CD Stuck In-dash Changer
2007 F150 Lariat.. I cannot get disc 1 to eject from the changer. It will eject the other 5. It starts to eject disc 1, I can see the edge of the disc, then it just reloads it.

Tried to close the top and it stuck. The deck lid is up, top is half- way unfolded, package tray is in up position. The motor acts like it is binding with ever so slight movement when I push the button to raise or lower. The red light on the dash switch is lit (red).

So the blue light indicating eco mode on the dash has become permanent despite turning to sport, or normal mode. Bought it used a few months ago but could have sworn it would turn red for sport when I first brought it home. Have tried just about everything short of unplugging the battery. I can't imagine the red light would be burnt out already and the blue light should not stay on when I change to normal mode either. 2004 f350. Trucks starts, runs, normal. But just noticed the gauges are not moving. Speedo stuck at 50, tach is at idle. Lights up just fine.
Have a code for the fuel sender, had that issue for awhile now, but also have u1262.

I recently installed an egr delete and ever since, my vents have been stuck to the upper dash no matter which setting I put on. The vent will push the air conditioning, regular air and heat all the same. I have checked the fuses and they are all good.
