GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Check Engine Light Comes On (solid Orange) After Oil Change

So I go and get my oil change on Sunday at a local place. Oil change is done and later that evening my engine light comes on (solid orange). I call the local VW service and they say its nothing to worry about. "Maybe a little moisture got inside my gas tank." The service manager said to continue to drive it like nothing is wrong and it should go off. Here I am two days later and its still on. So should I be worried?

Phaeton :: Transmission Shift Lever Stuck In Park - Key Will Not Come Out Of Ignition

I searched for a prior post on this without success. I have a serious problem with my '04 V-8 transmission shift lever being stuck in Park in cooler weather. Ny wife is the primary driver, and on some cooler mornings it is almost impossible for her to move the shift lever out of park. She has to let the car warm up a bit, and then move the lever around a bit with all her might before it will finally move out of park. The dealer can't figure out what is wrong. It only appens when the temperature is below about 50 degrees, and with winter approaching, frequent problems lie ahead.

Phaeton :: Transmission Slipping / Gear Would Disappear Off The Dash When Going Into 6th

My issue is that the car (04 V8 6speed 210k miles) will be in 6th gear or 5th going into 6th and the gear would disappear off the dash and the car would act like it's in neutral, RPM's shoot up cause i'm on the gas. When I get off the gas and let the car return to idle it figured out what gear it was in and started running normal again.

Phaeton :: Only Orange Hands On Instrument Cluster Come On At Startup?

My car lives in a parking garage which by nature is well shaded. In the last few weeks, when I start the car, the orange hands on the instrument cluster come on at full brightness (which I think is normal), but the rest of the normally "on" panel fails to light up meaning, that the white digits on the speedometer range are dark, the ones in the tachometer, etc.

The dash looks like something from science fiction, which is cool, but is nearly useless when all you see is a bunch of glowing orange pointers! After a few minutes, the back light turns on through no action of mine and all is well in the analog instrument cluster area.

Phaeton :: Solid Red Light On Locking

I noticed a couple of days ago that when I lock my Phaeton the flashing red light on the inside of the door turns solid red for a few seconds. The usual pattern is that it flashes a few times (a couple of seconds worth) when you press the lock button on the remote and then turns solid red for twenty or thirty seconds before going on to it's usual flashing to indicate that the doors are locked/alarm is set.

Is this normal or does it indicate a fault with the alarm or immobilizer? I can't recall it doing this until Friday (two days ago) but perhaps I've just missed it.

Passat (B5) :: 2004 - Fading Orange LED Lights On Dash?

I test drove a 04 V6 passat today and it was great, except the little orange LED lights as part of the bottom/center display in the instrument cluster were "fading" at the top and bottom. eventually they came back up and were brighter, but it wasn't anything that the headlight or interior light controls had any influence over. below is NOT an example of the problem itself, but the bright orange box is what I'm talking about.

Prius (2004-09) :: 2007 Won't Start - 5 Orange Dash Lights

I got in my car today, put the key in, put my foot on the break, and pressed the start button, but instead of starting up, the start button turned orange, and 5 orange dash lights came on in the lower corner. I tried persistently to start it, and eventually it did try to start the engine, which worked fine. I drove around the block and then parked to see if I was going to have the problem again. This time the problem was more persistent the car never started again.

Phaeton :: Red Lights On Front Door Were Solid Rather Than Normal Flashing

Today I got back to to the Phaeton in a multistory car park and the red lights on the front doors were on solid rather than the normal flashing and what appeared brighter than normal. There was no evidence of anybody touching the car. It went away when the car was started and locked again.

The light came on the dash, it blinks at first, then becomes solid. Checked all the air pressure, tires are all fine. Tried resetting with the button, doesn't fix it - blinks then goes solid.

Camry :: 1999 Toyota Orange Brake Light On Dash Would Come And Stay On In Winters

I have a 99' Toyota Camry that has just turned over 150,000 miles. Two winters ago I noticed that the orange brake light on the dash would come on and stay on. But when the weather became warm again in the spring the dash light went off and stays off during warm weather, and then comes back on again when weather gets cold.

When the light initially came on the brakes worked fine and the pedal was nice and high and firm. I pulled the wheels and found the pads and shoes still had well over 70% of pad and shoe material remaining and the brake fluid is clean and full.

And even to this day the brakes work beautifully except for the dash brake light coming on when cold and going off when warm.

One other side note....I have NEVER used the emergency hand brake lever between the seats since I have owned the car. I have always been leary of using these hand brakes since I have had cars in the past that the brakes would seize in place and would not release when the lever was released. As a result, I never touch it. And I have never place my car in a situation where I would even need to use it.

I got to work this morning and had about 3.5 miles left with the EV. Tried to go home and nothing works. I could not open the door. I thought it was my remote battery so I Changed the battery and still nothing works. I get the Orange caution light on the dash and a clicking sound from the engine area . No lights come on. Prius (2010-12) :: Fast Beeps For 2 To 5 Seconds And Solid Dash Light Comes On While Driving

A 2010 Prius III: Its been a few days now that its doing this.

While I'm driving, the car would start to beep fast (3-4 beeps per sec), the brake and steering wheel stops working, its very stiff and brake pedal is hard! Along with that, there's 4 lights came on the dash; traction control, abs, brake and tire pressure. All this happens when the car starts to beep, and the beep last anywhere from 2-5 second, constantly!

I checked everything and its normal, gas half tank, keyless key is in my pocket, all doors closed, brake pads looks good, tires are good. I've had this car for 4 years, its at 45k miles.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Clutch Pedal Is Rock Solid Hard After Transmission Swap

2004 Jetta 1.8 bought mainly as a parts car w /204K miles on it. Ran and drove fine, but the tranny had no 1st gear. Tried all sorts of things other than going inside the transmission and figured it is/was a bent shift fork. Clutch worked perfectly. Had another 02J tranny from 2003 1.8, so we swapped trannys. Could not get any response from the clutch.

Start the car in neutral and it won't disengage enough to shift into gear. Start it in gear with clutch pedal in and it is obviously slipping/burning/chattering. Have bled the slave cylinder to no end, have reverse pressurized it into the reservoir , etc, etc. Made up a block off plate to go over the end of the slave actuator and when the actuator is "blocked" from moving the clutch pedal is rock solid hard. Yet, the clutch acts as if the actuator isn't extending far enough. Have swapped out the original slave cylinder with the one from the '03, no change.

Removed tranny yesterday to check the condition of the throw out bearing and pivot and Pressure plate. All appeared fine. Reinstalled tranny and same issue.

Ford Transmission :: 2005 F250 - Trans Hesitates - If Engage Then Bang Into Gear Solid?

I have an 05 F 250 super duty with the Triton in it. When I shift either into overdrive or reverse the transmission hesitates (does not go into either gear for about 5 to 10 seconds). After that it engages and it's fine. It does not appear to be slipping or acting up regardless of temperature or speed. Sometimes it will sort of engage and than bang into gear solid. I do not have any check engine lights. Not sure if the PCM has any codes. So I'm trying to figure out if I need to have a complete rebuild or if I have a valve / solenoid body problem Where do I start?
