Toyota - Prius :: 2006 - Shredded Tire And Falling Off Rim On Parked Car?
2006 Prius. Parked it last night and it was fine. Woke up this morning to a shredded tire, falling off the rim. (Right front tire). Question, can this possibly happen while parked? Maybe thieves tried to steal the tire but could not? Or, did our teenage son sneak out with the car and damage the tire?
View 19 RepliesToyota :: Thumping Noise Goes Fast Or Slow Depending On How Fast Whipping Around
My roommate owns a 1987 Toyota Van. Those vans that have the Motor under your butt. Anyways, when we make a sharp turn (like fliiping) in either direction, we start hearing a thumping noise... It goes fast or slow depending on how fast your whipping around. We thought it was a CV joint, but, it looks like there isn't a CV Joint (Axel) Where to start to solve this?? Cause even when it goes down the highway you go into the curve and your really hear it.. The lug Nuts on the van are Tight, I've checked. We may think its a wheel barring..

View 14 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: Water Condensation On AC Pipes
I noticed today, when I opened the hood, that there is water condensation on the air conditioning pipes when the A/C is on. When it's fully on there is enough sweat on the pipes, and water starts dripping.
I added two images. In the first one you can see the water condensates on the two ends of the pipe with the white cap. In the second image, while it's not so clear, there is another pipe a bit deeper that also sweats.
Is this normal or not? Never noticed it.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: White Smoke Coming From Pipes
I went to dinner tonight and on the way home I noticed white smoke, coming from pipes. It's 42 degrees outside. I didn't notice any from any cars I saw beside me. I saw it when I got home. It didn't have any smell to it at all. It just felt warm. My girl friends car was not making any smoke either. I have never seen any during the day when it was warmer out.

Lexus LX 2008+ :: Mid Pipes For LX570 To Fit Directly To LongTube Headers?
I have a lx570 2013. I bought Doug Thotley's Longtube Headers. I haven't install yet, But I am about to.
I need to get my self a set of mid pipes that would hook directly my Doug Thorley's LongTube Headers and into the oem cat back.

Also, a friend of mine of mine has a LX570 with JBA long Tube Headers (Titanium), He also wants a set of mid pipes to fit directly to his Jba long tube and into his oem cat-back.
Rodeo :: 1996 Heater Core Plastic Pipes Broken?
The two hoses from the engine to the heater core plumbing at the firewall came off. The plastic piping the hoses attached to became brittle and weak from engine vibration. I tried threading 1/4" pipe threads then installing pipe nipple to which I attached heater hoses from engine-worked for a while then failed. There is very little room to work with between firewall and the engine. I'm curious to see how plastic piping goes to heater core.
View 1 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: AC Not Working - Pipes That Go To Evaporator Stay Warm
My AC is not working. I just tried to put in some freon and it did nothing for me. Hopefully this doesn't make matters worse, I'm finding that it may have..
From what I can tell everything is working fine except the pipes at the firewall that go to the evaporator stay warm and don't cool at all after ten minutes.
The clutch is engaging when the AC button is pressed and stays on fine.
I found this thread : [URL] .....
about the blend door, that could be it haven't checked yet but does it suggest that the condenser isn't working since the pipes don't get cold?
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Radiator Coolant Started Leaking From Pipes?

View 5 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Battery Has Been Draining Quite Fast
Just bought a 2006 Prius, ironically only has 31,000 km on it.
Recently, mostly today, i noticed the battery has been draining quite fast. I was at 2 bars from full(or 3? whatever is pre "green") and probably 5-10min later i was 2 bars and the gas engine was running. Whatever seemed odd, maybe the traffic was a little slower today.
However i started driving 80kph and it took over 5 minutes for the car , without battery running, to bump from 5 bars up to 6. The electric motor was literally not driving the whole time, it was strictly gas the whole 5 min.
I was also considering taking this car for an inspection at the dealer just to ensure everything is okay before winter hits.
Prius V :: Fast Clicking Noise While Braking
This morning I went thru a known rough patch on the road and was applying light pressure on the brakes as usual (EV doing about 20 mph). Once the wheels started bumping, a loss of deceleration occurred as expected but what I did not expect was a fairly fast clicking sound (about 30Hz). I *believe* it sounded like the click that is heard when the traction battery is engaged in READY mode, but I'm not completely sure. Where it came from since I was using the A/C and rag chewing on the ham radio. The clicking subsided once I lifted the foot from the brake pedal and reapplied the brakes. No indicator lights came on and the car continued behaving normally.
View 3 RepliesPrius (2001-03) :: Battery Dying Really Fast
So here's the deal my '02 prius' traction battery is dying really fast. But here's the thing, it will charge fully and be fine for a few months and then one day Its like the battery says, "now I don't want to play anymore." and dies really fast and is a pain to charge even a little bit. I can even drive to work (at least half an hour away) and I can get to freeway speeds and charging 95% of the way and it will still be at a very low charge. Then after a while it will charge all the time while staying fully charged. I'm eventually going to replace the battery anyway but wanted to know if it sounded like something else, too.
View 7 RepliesPrius (2001-03) :: Windows Fog Up Super Fast?
I'm in rainy Seattle. Windows fog up super quick on the G1 I just purchased here in early winter (45-50F rainy outside). No evidence of any water leaking into interior. New cabin air filter. Also have a G2 and G3, neither fog up super fast.
I usually like to run AC least as possible to allow ICE to shutdown more. So I set air flow from outside (not recirc) fan on 1st setting. Temp on 70+
Thought I ask before going over the car to look for any water entry.

View 14 RepliesFord Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2005 6.0 - Oil In Intercooler Pipes
About a month after replacing the oil cooler and welding the egr cooler, I randomly got a "low oil pressure" message pop up on the dash. I checked my oil level when I got home and it was full so I assumed it was just the oil sending switch went bad. A couple days go by and I noticed a substantial puddle of oil under my truck so I popped the hood and the entire top passenger side of the engine was soaked in oil.
I assumed it was the inlet turbo oil gasket because the turbo pressure wouldn't go above half, but after replacing it the leak was still going strong. It turns out that all of that oil was spraying out of my intercooler boot at the front of the turbo. I ordered a new kit and replaced all the boots and pipes and got her running.
While driving around the block the turbo sounded like it was being smothered and wouldn't engage. 30 seconds later the truck went into limp mode. From what I've read it can be solved with a ccv mod but i don't think that will solve as much oil as I'm experiencing, however I could be wrong. Could this be a blown turbo seal or maybe the head gaskets?
