Prius C :: Remote Start And Heated Mirrors?
I've ordered the parts to do both.
I'll do the best write up + pics I can do when I get time to install. This winter has been a killer so far, after a few 5 degree nights, the block heater isn't cutting it!
I'm doing a Viper 5706v 2-way remote start/security system and OEM heated mirror glass and going to run the wires into the defroster circuit. The plan will be to integrate that into the remote start so that both the rear defrost and the heated mirrors are activated below 34 degrees....
Prius (2010-12) :: Heated Seats Always On And Can't Be Turned Off
I got a 2010 Prius with factory heated leather seats and problem is that they are always powered on, driver and passenger side, both of them.
When I press switch under the bar it makes click sound but does not make any difference, the light on the buttons are steady ON no mater you press it, hold it or anything.
Prius C :: Heated Front Seats On Cold Morning?
Although the manual is silent on the topic, I can swear that the font seats in my new PriusC warm up on cold mornings. There is no on/off switch for this to happens...
View 2 RepliesPrius C :: 2014 - Heated Seats Don't Provide Consistent Heat
I have a 2014 Prius C Four. It just ticked over 5000 miles on the odo and I really like this car so far. There are a few annoying things, one of which is the way the heated seats work. In my other car, the heated seats had three heat levels. Once you set it, the seats come up to temperature and stays there. The Prius heated seats are just on/off. The annoying part is that when you turn it on, the heat is really inconsistent. For the past few winter months, I pretty much leave the seat heaters on all the time. During my commute, the seat temperature will go up and down about a dozen times. The temperature will rise to an almost uncomfortable level then drop back down to where you can barely tell they are on. The temperature cycles up and down and it's really annoying.

Prius four with heated leather seats noticed especially on the drivers side seat bottom on the side bolster just as you slide in not the center section. I noticed it when new, it looks like a maybe wire between the leather and seat foam.
View 4 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Vent Settings To Just Blow Air Through Cabin?
I was wondering if there is a vent setting to just blow air through the cabin or is it required to set a temperature to have the fan blow air?
View 13 RepliesPrius (Gen 3) :: Vent For Batteries / Speaker Got Wet In Rain
So my window was left partially down today and it poured down rain! The window that was down was the passenger side rear window. The handle on the door was full of standing water and my seats and floor mat were pretty soaked.
The speaker at the top of the door had water in it and I can't get it out by just wiping the cover. Is there an easy way to take this off and try to make sure everything is OK?
The vent for the batteries got lots of water in it too, this is dangerous?
Also, it's my first time with leather seats and I don't know how the water will affect them. Anything special I need to do?
I wiped up and soaked up everything I could with towels but still worry about the lasting damage it could have.
Prius (2010-12) :: Odd Smell From Ducts After Using Vent After A/C Off
In my 2010, when I use the A/C, the air comes out cool and dry. When I turn the A/C off, and just run the vent, I notice a few things.
1) The air warms up (duh!)
2) The air is more humid (duh!)
3) The air has a mustier, stale smell to it.
When I just run the vent (and don't run A/C prior) I don't notice the odor, but if I then run the A/C for a bit and then run the vent, the musty/stale smell returns.
I've noticed it and tend to ignore it. My wife noticed it and pointed it out to me, and it prevents me from cycling the A/C off as the odor fills the cabin.
Prius (2010-12) :: Musty Smell From The Vent
I did read the most recent thread on this, and while those lessons would be good if I was out of warranty, I'm about to go in for the 5k service after 2 months on the road.
View 19 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: 2006 - Blocked Air Vent?
Today the left middle air vent in my 2006 Prius (the vent immediately to the left of the display/radio) suddenly stopped working. Or more accurately, the air flow suddenly became almost non-existent. All of the other vents work properly. This occurs regardless of the air flow setting.
The oak trees above our driveway are shedding leaves by the hundreds now, so I'm wondering if a leaf is blocking the flow. But is it possible for just one of the vents to become clogged this way?
My real question: is fixing this problem something that I can try on my own, or is getting access to the air vent something that I should leave up to a repair shop?
Prius (2010-12) :: Air Sound Coming From Vent
Today I noticed a sound as I was driving almost like I forgot to shut a door. I believe it is coming from the vent which is located on the right side of the back seat. I'm not sure if I ever heard this before. It's been in the 90's this week.
View 3 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: 2008 - A/C Vent Stopped Putting Out Cold Air
My A/c vent at chest level and other levels just stopped putting out cold air, there is a small amount coming out of the vent on the driver side vent. I have the vent knobs set to be open.
I have tried all settings on. Just hoping this is something I can repair. This is an '08 with 120k on it, have had zero hassles for the last 36 months of ownership.
Prius (2010-12) :: Vent In Winter Only Works For A Minute
I like to have heat coming out of the vent. However, in the winter, when I click for it to come out of the vent (as opposed to the floor), it turns on the A/C full blast. I then turn off the A/C and turn down the fan speed. About a minute or less, it automatically turns itself back to floor heat.
View 11 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: How Rear Seat Vent Works
How the rear seat vent works? When you started your car and car was moving, did you notice that vent is always blowing? OK, I just notice that my rear seat vent just keeps blowing when my car is moving. Especially, it is loud as I hear when I turn off my radio.
View 5 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: 2007 AC Turned On And Air Blowing Out Of Vent Ambient Temperature
I have a 2007 Prius. I turned on the AC for the first time this spring last week and the air blowing out of the vent was ambient temperature. When I looked through the sight glass with the AC running, it looks like there's fluid in there, but it's not moving anywhere and the evaporator pipe did not feel cool. I also replaced the 12 V battery a few months ago, with an optima yellow top battery.
What's wrong with the AC? Will a recharge do it fix this, or did I mess something up with the battery. There were a lot of warnings about "resetting" the system after you have the 12V out, but I didn't seem to have any problems that were described as symptomatic of needing a reset.
Prius (Gen 3) :: Loud Noise From Back Seat Vent / Cooling Fan
Fan is pretty clean. Before re-assembly it will be blasted with ~100 psi from an air compressor. Driving around like this is fine for a while to check diagnostics. How noisy is normal? This is the first time I noticed the noise.
We've owned this silver 2011 Gen 3 from new and it now has 37K miles after about 3.5 years. Today it's ~70F in Atlanta, so not hot compared to how it will be soon. We had the s/w recall done about six months ago and I've possibly not driven the car since (have a few cars).. my wife drives it most days and did not notice probably due to music but I felt it was very loud like there was hole in the side of the car (first thought was some vent to the outside became stuck open but the vent near the auxiliary battery is fine).
Is there a way to read the fan speed via Android Torque and Bluetooth OBD? Should I disassemble the entire length of the venting? Might there be something inside there causing a blockage?
Prius (2010-12) :: Water Spill On The Spokes Of Battery Vent?
My toddler spilled an open bottle of water from her rear facing car seat on the passenger side of my brand new Prius III. From what I can make out, her car seat and the sides of the passenger seat took most of the damage. But there were a few drops of water on the spokes of the battery vent. I cleaned it up and tried peering inside the vent to see if water got in but I couldn't tell much as it was dark out. We had to drive it back home as we were 20 miles away. What should my next steps be? Should I take it to the dealer in the morning to have the battery checked out? Can I remove the vent cover and wet vac it?? What signs should I look for? Am I looking at having to replace the battery!
